Hello Folks,

Has anyone heard anything or have suggestions for the as-yet-unreleased "Mutant Pack" ?

What would everyone like to see in it ?

Here is one of my own thoughts; Tailor option to alter your Origin.
Have you ever made a character concept and realized after playing them for 40+ levels that the origin you chose just doesnt fit ?

I would like to see the addition of alternate skin textures but I think that might be more than the developers have time for right now from a coding and animating perspective.

I would also like to see them add eyes as a costume option so that we could select things like cat eyes, alien eyes, pupilless eyes. etc. Also the ability to change the change the color of the pupils and the sclera using the pallete.

Along the same vein it would be cool if all of the facial features became customizable to include alien, animalistic or generally non-standard options.

Excellent Ideas McBoo. I especially like the idea of more facial options. Very Mutant-like.

Yeah, the facial options in the new game from that "other" developer are a good benchmark. I hope I'm not being too cryptic.....

I have been saying this in other threads, so I thought I'd add it here as well.

I have a serious gut feeling that we are going to see some more monstrous glove slots, coupled with a No-Effects claw power optoin so you can attack with your costume claws, rather than metal protrusions.

Claws for non-claw characters. Sounds like a good idea.

That also makes me wonder if we will get an animalistic run option as well.

Hehe, how many folks out there are just itching to make Thundercats ?

Rumor mill is that it was confirmed that the Mutant Pack will be focused on minimalistic and/or monstrous things.

I would be happy with more head, claw, feet options.
Also really like the idea of alternate skin and face options.

Could we get a cat-like run option ? Maybe a Hoppy-toad run option as well.

Rolling curled up in a ball like a salamander ?

Lots of running animations I probably havent thought of

The general thought of making more animations is that it is hell for them.

Anyway, everyone seems to like to say this and that is SOO hard for the devs to do, just to try and get people to stop asking. So maybe we will see some no animations.

Yeah, I have no doubt that running animations are alot of work.

But we also know the Devs use a pretty simple meter on whether to do something; that being "Is it Fun ?". I would even be one of the nay-sayers on running animations if they had not already added ninja-run.

So, having a Beast-like character able to run on all fours is just super-cool.
The standstill animation could be a crouch (which we also have currently as an emote).

Its all good to me

I just wish that they made it so when you turned on these new run animation powers that they stayed on even when you used a non stack-able power, but didn't drain your energy any.

AH! Found it - I made a list of all the origin based packs that have been released to date and what all the give you. I'll list these (with their emotes and powers), then offer up a suggestion based on this list. Bonus powers from each pack are clipped by the **.

Cyborg pack (Technology) - *Self-Destruct* /emotes: robotdance, powerup, powerdown
New aura - Combat aura +New costume pieces
Magic pack (Magic) - *Mystic Fortune* /emotes: cardtrick, juggle, jugglemagic, jugglefire, juggleelectricity [NOT SURE if all these emotes are exclusive to this pack]
Costume change emotes: Spell Cast, Spin, Lightning, Presto Change-o! + New costume pieces
Science Pack (Science) *Cosmetic Surgeon* /emotes: experiment, calculate
Costume change emotes: Drink Formula, Super Serum +New Costume pieces
Martial Arts Pack (Natural) *Ninja Run* /emotes: bringit, pushup Costume change emotes: Smoke Bomb, Ninja Leap +New costume pieces

Since *Shadowy Presence* is being offered with the Going Rogue Complete Collection, it's making my decision on a mutant based power for the mutant pack a difficult one.
Ok, based on all that - now my suggestions for a mutant pack =

Mutations Pack (Mutant) *Mutated DNA* [toggle: +PsiDefense(Special), +Def(All), +Res(All)note: very minor bonuses] /emotes: enfrenzied, mutagenicgrowth (from normal size to max size for a few seconds, almost like alakazamreact), mutagenicshrink (from normal size to tiny size for a few seconds) Costume change emotes: Mutate [also known as: Morphing, Transforming] (character goes from looking human to mutant state), Phase In (character's mutant form "phases" into view as if appearing from the -Phase- power), Phase Out (character's human form "phases out" of view and replaced by the mutant form)
+New costume pieces (hair, natural claws, new spines, new tails, "skins", and other stuff I can't think of at the moment or stuff that has already been mentioned.)

I dunno. Just ideas, and all probably difficult to pull off. -Shrugs- Yes, I ran out of ideas once I hit the "what's the bonus power gonna be" phase of posting this.

I'll look it up in-game later then because I can't find it on the wiki (is it on test?)

Like I said in my post, those were just suggestions anyway.

It's not actually usable in-game yet. They found it by that typing in [Secondary Mutation] and clicking on it to get the info box dealy. And the live game, I presumed.

Dec out.

[Secondary Mutation]:

Description:
You acquire a secondary mutation. This grants a random permanent buff for up to 20 minutes. No more than one Secondary Mutation can be in place at a time.

Detailed Info:
Click, self, single target, 20 min recharge time, 1.17sec activation time, 1.00 acc.
A 20 minute buff isn't very permanent to me.

Thats VERY interesting !

Now lets talk about how you cannot target your self again

"Permanent buff" means that (like Mystic Fortune and Base Empowerment Stations), the buff persists through death (and in the case of MF, through logouts).

Self-buff similar to Mystic Fortune huh?

Could it be possible to have the two of them stack together, double buffs that last 20 minutes?

I have a feeling this self-buff might have some trick to make it slightly riskier to use, kind of in the way Mystic Fortune has the Fool for -ToHit and the Tower for self-damage. Even more so because it's a self-buff rather than a targeted ally buff.

I bet the exploit that lets you swap MF also lets you swap SM and that is delaying the release of the pack...

Hehe, I knew that.

My comment was somewhat facetious regarding the whole idea of "self-buffing".

Since one of my earliest gripes with the game, and to some extent one I still don't feel has been adequately assuaged is the disparity between buffers and debuffers in solo play.
I find it VERY Interesting that the Mutant "power" could be a self-induced buff.

VERY interesting indeed.

P.S. Lets hope I dont go blind playing with it.
