I had an idea for this strike force. On top of the forum RP, we could write up two AE arcs. One for heroes to play where the team(s) must Capture Castle Bathory by overpowering (fighting) all the key members of the Court of the Blood Countess, Council of X & Bounty Hunters including the Corporation who Bathory has paid. Design it around the castle theme and set it on a reasonably high difficulty 'cos the Court/Council/Corp are no pushovers right? Add the Arachnos back-up and you've got a lengthy couple of missions. It makes sense that this succeeds because the Taking of Castle Bathory would push the Open Season plot along quite nicely while keeping in-line with the GM's plans. Incorporating the Court, Corp, Council, NH and the Foundry would also round it up as a full blown cross-community plot. Throw in this mix of AE RP, in-game RP, as well as all this forum RP and you've made it cross-format too.

Simultaneously you could do one for the villains to play where the team(s) must Reclaim Castle Bathory by overpowering (fighting) all the key members of the Nighthunters, Foundry & Big Game’s Hyenas. And perhaps again including the Corporation, who despite having been paid, still seem to be playing both sides (for reasons yet unrevealed. In-fighting? Rogue factions? I dunno, ask Bunny! : p) Once again, design it around the castle theme and set it on a reasonably high difficulty 'cos the Nighthunters/Foundry/Corp are no pushovers either right? Add the meddling Longbow forces and you've got a lengthy couple of missions. It *also* makes sense that this mission succeeds too because after the Taking of Castle Bathory (or Giving, depending on personal opinion) inevitably comes the Reclaiming of Castle Bathory (or Return, depending on who you ask), which could then bring the plot back to the Forums for an open-end conclusion.

What say you folks? Game? Liz? It's only an idea so, like my previous idea, throw it out if it's not in-line with whatever you guys have in mind.

I see it like a pre-issue #13 style SG base raid but split into seperate missions.

Capture Castle Bathory (which is by-the-way a mansion, not a true castle)

1. Mission One: Storm the Main Hall

A man on the inside has opened a portal into the Main Hall, sneak in and storm the Castle while the portal lasts. You face the minions of the Court, a few Elite Bosses (Shannon O'Banshee, Poisanna, Deepcut, Darkleaf, Blood Strength) and a final AV: Lilith Lamashtu. But suddenly you are magically ejected as the enemy tries to reclaim the Castle.

2. Mission Two: Strike the Power Core

A possible other inside man has established a portal into the building's power core. Take out the Power Core to win over control of the castle. You face minions of the Court and a few Elite Bosses (Ghidirah, Elektra Carmine, Lucifer's Reaper, Mistress Chaos, Parasite Knight) and a final AV: Jack Wulfe. Just as you initiate power shutdown you are magically ejected as the enemy tries to reclaim the Castle.

3. Mission Three: Free the Prisoners

As the power begins to shutdown, the inside man opens a new portal in the torture chambers. He probably wants you to help him free the prisoners. Inside you are surprised to find other members of the Coalition of Hunters; Hyena members Big Game and Shop! You help them face off with Elite Bosses (Drew Firstblood, Blood Purple, Countess Leeches, Impervium Tower, Incantator Draconis) and a final AV: Erez'Zul. You help the victims out through the ill-placed Pocket D portal, but are again magically ejected as the enemy tries to reclaim the Castle.

4. Mission Four: Defeat Countess Bathory

Seconds before the power outage reaches wide, the inside man pulls you back into the Castle where you are faced with Arachnos agents with a warrant for your arrest. You escape them but are met by the Corporation. You engage Elite Bosses Techbot ALPHA, Ubermensch Kahn, Spirit Wolf and Headbreaker only to face The Primogen, Vladislav Drăculea and a final AV: The Countess Báthory Erzsébet. You leave the defeated Countess in the hands of Big Game while you ransack the Castle confiscating valuable resources, crippling the Court's finances. As you return to your contact you wonder of the fate of Big Game and the Countess.

Something along those lines anyway. The villain attack version would be similarly laid out and explain in depth, the opposite end of the story. Including how they pushed the heroes out three or four times, the Corporation's part (maybe slot Alley, Kurze, Aquis and Iron Alligator into the arc at this point?) and also cover exactly what happened *afterwards* between Game and Bathory. That's it! Rip it, throw it, change it, use it, do whatever. It's up to you, but I think it could work.

It can.. but it is possible that it will be a bit hard getting some of these critter files together. Luckily I already have most of the Court.

The Castle in missions is a bit tricky and requeres some thought in which map to pick.

The mansion part should be a square map that is not too big... The main dungeon can be a COT map preferrably square too... The dungeon sections could be Cimeroran caves.

It's set in a tiny box-section of your in-game base when compared to mission maps so the scale won't really be as accurately depicted as the castle theme for example, which being a stone-wall building with cave-like dungeons shouldn't really be a problem to pull off, roughly. I agree that the critter files for Foundry and Corp members might need legwork. NH are mostly in a set uniform so that shouldn't be as hard to copy over. Glad you also think it's doable though. Should be interesting to hear what Game makes of the idea and also what Alpha's opinions are on it, as he is our biggest moaner, err I mean critic.

Trying a base raid style thing without a base will be....ambitious. To say the very least.

However, the one point I will stick to is; ask the permission of ALL the characters players you are going to/planning on using first. Without fail.
As for the rest of it, meh, I'm undecided so far.

Hmm, gotta admit I'm not too keen idea, purely because I don't think an AE arc is flexible or robust enough to do justice to the event, or the characters involved. Personally I think AE arcs work better where plots are easily railroaded, or have limited potential outcomes.

As it stands Bunny already wrote one Open Season AE arc (Patrolling Talos) which focused on one of Open Season's character sub-plots (Sasha Bayne). Im also putting together another (A Culling in Croatoa) for the Corporation which will deal with the Jackals, Eso-Tech, and a couple of other characters already mentioned earlier in the Open Season storyline. However it's because these arcs only deal with a small part of the overall plot that I think they work (or will work once I finished mine).

The Assault on Castle Bathory is meant to be an epic event and I imagine participants will have all kinds of creative stuff they want to bring to the show. Stuff I really don't see an AE arc coping with.

I see your point. Ah well, I'll keep 'em firing. Will get one of these ideas working eventually.

Far too kind, but thank you.

Kallandra hope I didn't step on your toes so to speak it would just be very much out of character for my character not to notice the movement above him because of one of his abilities :S

He looked around the room again seeming studying it, noticing the movement happening above him but not saying anything...

I'm not sure if he would actually be able to see her from the hallway or the sitting room unless he were looking around the corner?..

Here's a screenshot of where she's actually hiding in the room with the mirror, and a view down the corridor to the adjoining sitting room where Liz has taken him..

From the where she's looking, the mirror is to her left in the room. Hope this helps!

Very nice research there Ammon. I really love the way you've focused on details from Big Game's earlier adventures, and turned them into plot hooks. You're one evil [Insert Expletive Here]!

Will post up reations just as soon as I can.

I looked up all I could, then used the ones that seemed most likely to have entered public record somewhere. The children's home connection was brought to light by that pink-costumed freakazoid Game once mutilated with an axe there, and almost everyone knows how Game loves his boat.

Drew has tried very hard to let Game know that it is not all some freak coincidence - like leaving one former girlfriend's body in a tiger's cage at the zoo as a reference to Game's famous pants.

Pious, had a spring of inspiration for assault on Barthory castle mission arcs

1. Enter via underground cave system. Demon infested, with ghoul minions, and random EB demonic court members eg Parasite Knight, Lilith, and then AV of Demon Templar gaurding the entrance.

2. Underground torture chambers and caverns. Ghost infested, also Ghoul minions, Random EBs Ghostly Court members and Ghost Templar as final AV

3. Main chambers. Humans and Humanoids. Random Human EBs and Human Templar

4. return to underground Chambers to hunt for Elizabeth herself. Werewolf infested with Werewolf EB and Werewolf Templar

5. Underground Cave system possibly leading to escape tunnel or vehicle. Vampire infested, Zombie and Ghoul Minions, EB vampire court members, AV Vamp Templar and then Elizabeth at the end as final AV

Also possible to have the Templar's seconds as AV's to be defeated. Suggest using caves and orenbega for castle and seperate villian groups for each mission. Just an idea. I can build it myself if you need me to.

And feel free to pick holes.

Oh boy UltraNova, your new Shinobi certainly chose the wrong fight to 'demonstrate his skills' with. Blade may be the best swordsman, Pious may be the versatile one but Storm is decidedly the most powerful fighter of the Nighthunters. LOL. Talk about jumping into the deep end.

I like this idea to be honest and I don't mind you using my General Darkheart character either as a targets. She has got it coming to her.
