Open Season (Unionverse Open RP OOC)

Just added a new little twist to the general plot that people can adopt or ignore as personally affecting as they wish.

A powerfully precognitive Arachnos Widow is, for reasons known only to herself and a few others at this time, killing off any known family, friends, or even valuable contacts of any on Elizabeth Bathory's original hit-list that have gone into hiding or otherwise not yet been brought down.

Even the most invulnerable of heroes are only as invulnerable as the weakest of those they care about.

Naturally, it is up to players themselves to determine if they are on Bathory's hit-list, and if in addition, Arachnos files would have any data about known family, friends, etc. (If you have a public identity, then family, birthplace, prior marriage, etc would be easily known from public record in the US or most other nations). Then it is up to you whether someone your character knows and loves was assassinated.

The one exception is Big Game. Sorry mate, but he's too well known, and has too much boasting done about his conquests for several past girlfriends and conquests to not be horribly murdered. The assassin doesn't do this thinking he loves the girls, but believes it will greatly hurt his ego, which is his strongest motivating force.

Hey, what do you guys think to having the Circle of Thorns launch an all out attack on Steel Canyon on the Open Season Forum? just ive laid the background for an assult on the NH headquarters, but cant decide whether it'd be better doing it as an AE arc or on the Forum. Just figure its a major battle everyone can get involved in, and gives us a chance to see whats happening Hero side, since all the action seems to have been in the isles lately. If you think it'd be better for me to write an arc then say so, just want some opinions on the idea.

If its not related to Open Season, Id say AE arc.

I can't really see the CoT doing that myself, for a number of reasons.
1) Steel isnt there normal turf, irrc
2) Why would they do anything to help the Court? By all accounts, villains hate the Circle as much as Heroes
3) Would there be any ulterior motive to the attack? If not, then it probably doesnt tie into Open Season.

To answer you Tech

1) CoT think the NH have stolen a precious book frome them (see previously in open season
2) they arent helping the Court, they are being manipulated by an outside power taking advantage of Open Season (again see previously in the Open Season)
3) See 1

So i think it ties in, since the attack is being caused by someone trying to destroy both NH and Court in one go, using Open Season as the perfect opertunity to do so

I think it might work out, as we need something going on hero side too, I don't really know enough about COT to give more constructive feedback. But yes I think it will be nice to have a third party mixing things up, or is that a forth party? Anyway yep for the reasons stated.

The end is just a new beginning, Goodbye all my coh friends and even the enemies, its been a blast I will miss you all. Thank you Paragon team, you gave me a home from home I will always appriciate it.

Durrr, yes, sorry, complete and utter mindfail on my part there. I remember now
Well...yeah, why not in that case. Given the 'theft', it makes sense.
Bring on the Behemoths

"yes Paladin they will" replied Eras "they will see the Nighthunters attacking and i will make sure the magic tracers lead back to their base of operations, so helpful of Pious to freely give away such information" continued Titan, touching a soul gem taken from a previous assault on the Circle of Thorns. As the Helicopter took off, Ionic smiled. With any luck the Circle of Thorns would attack the Nighthunters very soon, and then everything would start to fall into place. As Titan headed toward Steel Canyon, Ionic couldn’t help but wonder how wise it was for the company to send a very thuggish looking brute into the heart of the City of Heroes.
So a team of seven rogues attack the Circle of Thorns, steal their stuff, plant a dead hero in fake Nighthunter garbs and confuse the Thorns into believing Pious and his friends were responsible? Bit long winded but okay, could be a passable plot. But to clarify, it was the Court who uncovered the NH base location. Circle of Thorns don't yet know about it. I don't remember Pious giving away any such Intel either, save MAGI and the FBSA sharing it with other heroes.

Pious, TRINNITY have infilitrated and stolen the details about the location of the NH base from the government. Not like thats completely unprecidented to be fair. And i did have TRINNITY leave a circle member alive, having warped his mind so he thinks he saw and heard nighthunters attacking. Plus TRINNITY have set a magic trace to lead the COT to Steal Canyon, though they dont know about the worn cover, they just know its somewhere in Steel Canyon, hence the "so helpful of Pious" comment. It not so far fetched and even if the COT didnt think it was the NH, they would believe the book and soul gems were taken to Steel Canyon

That's a little more plausible. The whole Pious gave it to us free comment totally threw me. At any rate, it’s great that you're running this plot by me (and everyone else) first before taking it further. Government breach and a second 'Moth Cathedral' type Thorns attack? Sure, could be fun. Although unlike the Dark Astoria ghost town, Steel Canyon would likely be swiftly won by the countless 'city' heroes out there. I don't think TRINNITY or the Thorns will last long. Either way, just as Tomb's subplot might bring doom over the vampires, this TRINNITY breach would cast a wide shadow over MAGI's security. So yeah, an OK idea.

Well im not expecting it to be a long battle, just something that everyone with a hero can get into. since im sure some people with non supernatural villians and heros have been dying to get stuck into this.

ok i have now posted the start of the Circle's invasion into Steel Canyon, hope its ok and im not overstepping anything, if i am please someone tell me. oh and Heroes...get ready for battle

Thanks.

A lot.

I can never seem to find the time (and mood) to write nearly as much as I'd like, so its really nice to have some positive feedback on what mad mutterings I do manage.

Game, I see Wraps is back out and about. If its practical plot-wise, could you steer him down to the Jelly Fish Dream for a friendly encounter? It'd help me with that plot development I PM'd you about. If not, then we can just write it in some other way.

Is it me or is this coming along like a Batman/Superman team up?

Okay, that was my first post in Open Season and in general, any sort of forum RP etc. More to give myself an understanding of where Darien stands than anything else, as i've had too many ideas floating in my skull. Hopefully, it'll turn out to be fun

I was doing some playthroughs of City of Heroes. Now they will serve as memories of a better time ...

Nice post. I'd suggest Adam takes the fight away from the store though, before he rouses suspicion or gives away the 'site' location by going too close to it.

Meanwhile, anyone tracking the bookshop would likely have their senses directed elsewhere... towards the First National Bank or a newly developed Starbucks cafe (kinda like Dr. Strange's place during Civil War). I guess eventually it'll become obvious that strong magic is hiding the building, just as magic is now fortifying Castle Bathory. So long as it's up, the store won't be found.

Good to finally see Storm's powers in descriptive word Thunderrar, as opposed to just in-game graphics. Well written. His fight style reminds me of Thor.

thats because Thor rocks my socks and i want his love child =)
but yeah i do love Thor and kinda base adam on him sometimes, also nice to finally get him in an ic fight, yey!
