They said they'll revamp it to fit with the new version of Praetoria - but I think they'll probably also move a copy of the current arc to Ouroboros.

So basically she stole the police idea from Minority Report? Catching criminals before they commit the crimes using psychics? Maybe Emperor Cole is Tom Cruise in disguise!!!

In that case.... Rikti must run the churches in Praetoria. lol

batman has the bat-sign in the sky, I just have someone post the word "Rikti" on the forums and I'm there, ready to find new ways to pull their limbs off...

Sadly though I don't know that the Rikti ever found Praetoria as a dimension so my ganking will have to remain Primal Earth bound.

In Minority Report, people were sentenced based on crimes they were going to commit in the future, before they had the intent to commit those crimes or the situation arose that would lead them to have the intent to commit those crimes. In this case, you could be sentenced without ever knowing what could possibly lead to you commit the crime you were going to commit.

In Praetoria, people are sentenced to crimes they were thinking about doing. In this case, you know very well what you were thinking and maybe planning on doing. The question is... does every mental consideration of committing crime or doing harm mean that one would have gone through with it?

I have an idea on how to get the Rikti to come to Praetoria:
1. Build some robots to look like AntiMatter and Chimera.

2. Send them to the Rikti dimension on a killing spree threatening to invade Rikti Land with an army of super powered beings and leave a clue as to the whereabouts of your home dimension (Praetoria).

3. Profit.

I'm thinking about beating the Preatorians about with severed Rikti limbs... does that mean large ambushes of Praetoria Police to add to the checklist of "things ganked today"?

Hope so!

as for...

OK, put on your tinfoil hat and consider with me this scenario.

1. AntiMatter and/or Chimera and/or Neuron DID learn about Rikti dimension.

2. Praetorians DID go to Riktiland bent on chaos and destruction.

3. Clues were left behind which led the Rikti not to Praetoria, but to Primal Earth.

4. It is later discovered that Tyrant's antique, steam-powered, Prussian import toys told them to do it. (Because even in a dimension with no Nemesis, it's all a Nemesis plot!)

Oh yeah, and it's not polite to ask a woman about her age. Especially when she can kill you with her brain.

why assume that the current Praetoria storyline is the same dimension as the GR Praetoria? i simply assumed it were two different Praetorias.

Once GR goes live, the ruined wasteland of a world ruled by the openly evil and insane Praetorians we've come to know will be totally retconned out of existence - it'll never have existed, and Praetoria will always have been the way it's protrayed in GR.
It sounds suspiciously like there's a *lot* of ruined wasteland on Praetorian earth in the aftermath of the Hamidon wars. If I were writing the new material, Cole would have had technology that kept portals from opening anywhere in or around the "nice" parts of his world, and it would only be in the cities that he and his cronies bother to put on the pleasant public face. Now, something has changed there, and he's allowing portals to open to the decent areas.

There's no retcon needed. Worlds with a few shining cities and people whose public personas differ from their less public personas are relatively common in both fiction in general, and comics in particular. Maybe you'll view that as a retconning. If it's done properly, though, it will continue to be a deepening of the story as we learn about the world from other perspectives than the limited one of, "There's this alternate universe that wants to take over our world! Oh noes!"

Things will be what they've always been -- Cole and company will still be wanting to take over our world, but now they have day jobs as well.

And better costumes.

Better idea. Just invite them. No reason that there would be any conflict with the praetorian dimension. Tyrant could even propose an alliance against Earth prime. There could even be dissension within the Riki clans:
some who want to ally against E prime,
some who are allied with E prime against Pretoria,
some who want pace with both and will fight any who doesn't,
and some who want to fight both.

You could even make a Pretoria equivalent of Riki Prime.

Yeah, that was my first thought, why do they have the shortened lifespan?

Obviously it doesn't say, but it could have something to do with this quote:

"Unfortunately, the heroic and self-serving Seers have short life spans, though their life spans are longer than they would have been without Seer training and augmentations. Every Seer was at one time an unstable and dangerous psychic."

Maybe something about the "training and augmentation" damages them in some way. Then again it could have something to do with them being "unstable" to begin with. Lastly, they could be killed off when they start getting too powerful.

Who knows, maybe we will find out later.

Thinking is deadly!

Honestly, I think it could be a misnomer that those-in-power claim... And also fulfill if/when need be.
So, if "those-in-knowledge" tell the poor, young troubled psychics, "This affliction causes a short lifespan... But... our special training will help you to control it and live longer than you would otherwise"... It's not a bad selling point.

Fear + Promise of Help/Improvement = Inclination to do what they say (A psychological controlling mechanism of sorts).

Or (And possibly both) it is just the public spin on why so many psychics die so young...
