Lost - SERIES FINALE! - 5/23/10
"Everybody wants to change the world, but nobody wants to change themselves." -Tolstoy
I am going to miss this show so much. Lost has been with me since I was in middle school, and honestly I'm pretty sure my adult life has been greatly influenced by it. This is the only show outside of Star Trek that has made me feel so much for a fictional world. I've laughed, I've cried, I've learned.
So long, to the best show on television.
Let's take a moment to reflect on the various memes that Lost has created.
Got anymore?
The Simpsons get in on the Lost mania. Bart's chalkboard gag:
"Lost's" ending: It was the dog's dream. Watch us. |
"Ben is short for Frank."

One thing I'm picking up from the pre-finale wrap show from both the actors and the producers is how the show came together by looking for good actors and writing roles for them, rather than being stuck on a character and trying to shoehorn an actor into it. I'd be willing to wager that every character on Lost was either different than envisioned or not even on their radars when the creative team came up with the idea.
Who else could have played people like Locke, or Ben, or Desmond, or even Hurley? I also hope more shows in the future follow Lost's lead of not having to answer every question posed within a given season, or within a few episodes. It's ok to answer questions with more questions, and to throw the audience for loops every so often. |
Jack lived.
Locke was supposed to be thw Hurley character in that he owned a major corporation/
Charlie went from being an older, washed-up rocker to younger.
Kate went from being a housewife to a criminal.
Sawyer went from being a slick New York conman to a Southern faker.

I almost have survivor's guilt. My show is still on while BBM has a show ending and I doubt Locke is going to regenerate and show up at the end and ask everyone if their ready for round 2 on the island

The shining world of the seven systems. On the continent of Wild Endeavour. In the mountains of Solace and Solitude there stood the Citadel of the Time Lords. The oldest and most mightiest race in the Universe. Sworn never to interfere. Only watch...[/SIZE][/B]

Debating whether to come back and post during the commercials.
I may just concentrate solely on the episode...
Decisions, decisions!

That line's a bit of fan service: "Christian Shepherd?!?! Seriously?!?!" We've all been saying that for years!

...and Hurley once again with a Star Wars quote.

W00t! Juliet's name in the credits!
Now, I'm sure the main reason she's there is to deliver Clair's baby, but I also think she's Jack's ex-wife.

Apropos of nothing, but I always loved that little bit of synchronicity when an actor appears around the same time as his or her name shows up in the credits.
William Shakespeare was the Bob Haney of his day!
Vincent! Ooooh, so Rose and Bernard rescued Desmond. Never considered that they had.

I love confident side-reality Hurley.
Also: Bernard and Rose!

Juliet Carson?!?!? Who do we know named Carson? We always knew her as Juliet Burke, but Burke was her ex-husband's name. Wonder if Carson was her maiden name?
