So I want a Claws/Willpower Brute...
Hell powered android called Blenderizer 666, color the WP powers red/black
Werewolf... no wait, I did that with mine.
Be well, people of CoH.
Recently made an engineer character that uses a Steampunk armor suit... Claws/WP is fun. I tried going back to scrapper once I made this, but I enjoy the fury mechanic too much.
Personally my claws/wp was forced to wander the earth until the end of time. The claws are just strapped to the back of his hands. Over the years he has found the claws much easier to deal with than axes and swords, and with other people in this day and age emitting flames and wrapping there hands in unstable energy fields, he needed something small and inconspicous.
Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?
Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?
While trying to stay away from the joke-character, there is something to be said for the Battle Butler archetype. Presently I'm thinking of the one from Hudson Hawk (who had blades/knives strapped to his arms), but you could do something a bit more serious with it. RP his /WP as impeccable poise, manners, and decorum (and fashion sense!). This might be good if you have a friend you want to level-pact with to be your IC boss/employer (maybe a squisher archetype you want to duo with).

Try something with the large robotic gloves costume piece. It looks like the claws slide right out of them. It's a very cool effect.
The Bacon Compels You.
Mine was a former Council Officer who was given a new, experimental version of the serum that they pump into their soldiers to make them able to go toe to toe with superhumans, hoping to create a soldier who could infiltrate the common ranks like a Warwolf, only he wouldn't have to transform and give himself away before attacking. It WAS more effective, but it also temporarily made him flip out and...uh...now the council doesn't like him very much. He wears a mask to hide his features, since he's on the lam from both the Council and US Law Enforcement.
Seeing as how he's got Council training in hand-to-hand and can't come by weapons as easily due to pressure from the Council to apprehend him, he picked up some fighting claws so that he would be able to fight with a weapon in each hand, but still have his hands free to open doors or pick things up. I gave him the Armored Pads under a ratty trench coat and pants as well as the aforementioned mask to give him the look of being hunted, but combat-ready.
Too many alts to list.
Branching Paragon Police Department Epic Archetype, please!
You can put the Viper claws on anything. I have a friend who uses the widow claws and big gloves in order to pretend he doesn't have claws at all, and is rending enemies with electrified gauntlets.
Too many alts to list.
I may take the cake for most off-beat suggestion, but I recently made a Claws/SR brute with the boxing outfit. I used the widow claws since they are really small. They come right out of the boxing gloves. :-)
He's a down and out boxer trying to prove that he's still got it. He added just a "little something" to his punches to tip the scales.
He's Ebil.
Too many alts to list.
Back when Claws was proliferated to Brutes, during the Beta Testing period, the gloves from the new Praetorian Clockwork were accidently made available for a short time. They look good with claws, too.

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:
My main redside is a claws/wp brute by the name of Packmaster. I went with the Lycan/Werewolf origin and made him a career military/mercenary type. He has various military costumes and fatigues, a battle suit, but generally just leather pants and a sleeveless biker jacket and lots of gray/black fur. I like the look and theme alot.
I've also made a claws demon type, and there are plenty of looks and options there.
I've also seen some realy nice tech/armor suit types with claws and the Vanguard Blades and the Viper Blades always looks good with those suits. Here's my favorite though, check out this look/theme for a Claws/WP that was posted a few months back in the "favorite costume" thread here on the boards.

Scorpionaut is pure win!
I love making original characters, but I also enjoy seeing just how close I can get to characters already out there.
With the long wrist blade model and ninja run you can bring some Assassins Creed to City of Heroes.
...and I seem to have used up all of my creativity over the years, what little of it I originally even may have had. This is probably a silly request, and sounds more than a little lazy, but would anyone be kind enough to throw a few suggestions at me for a concept or costume? I've tried pestering my in-game buddies but their ideas are limited to "make a catgirl " or "Wolverine 2 lolol xD".
Discounting VEATs/HEATs, this is probably the first time I've ever gotten the idea for a powerset combo I want to play, before getting an idea for a concept or costume first. Addendum: Not to sound all wannabe-mature or anything, but I don't play comedy/joke characters. The novelty of a 'funny' concept wears off before level 10. Maybe I just lack a sense of humor. |
Its not unheard of.
