A Unionverse Plottage Query
Hmm...If your interested, I've got an NPC character that could be useful for that, introduced in the fiction work I did for Jen Kerringer a while ago. That could be a danger that would still be combattable by more normal characters.
Either way, im up for decent plot stuff.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I agree, I'd be up for something like that. Either through my Wand characters (for Plane/Dimension hopping goodness) or the others.
Might need some rules agreed in advance. Like the participants agreeing that events are lasting, or if perma-death/mortality can be used, etc etc.
But otherwise I'm all up for that. I love community plots. It suits my style more as a lot of my plots are character-specific and therefore background. It's their interaction with other plots that makes up the majority of their active roleplaying.
Forse: lvl 22 FF/NRG Defender
Tam Krannock: lvl 37 Shield/Mace Tanker
Toppa Grace: lvl 25 Fire/Ice Blaster

Red Commissar: I'm in the Queen Mother. Only more awesome. And alive
I'm already GMing a similar plot for The Militia which has cracks forming in different universes and dark creatures from the Void slipping through. Portal Corps have lost contact with a few dimensions, one of which the team got to witness being destroyed through these cracks.
Story so far is here: http://union.virtueverse.com/index.p....80.93_Present
The irony is, I started it before I even knew what the plot for the new Doctor Who was going to be. If it's of interest, there's no reason it can't be expanded outwards although I am working towards its conclusion now. There could still be long term repercussions from the events in the plot.

Cosmic-level plot? Sounds fun. means I can wrangle the upper end of my character roster into action.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
In game or on the boards?
Would be nice to be able to use the less game play mechanics centered powers.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
I think a bit of both could work well. All depends on what Birdy has in mind though.

Not exactly sure what that means, but the plots I run tend to revolve around roleplay rather than running lots of MA missions. RP powers which aren't just power-gaming are not an issue.

Don't know why I mentioned it actually, might be hungry.
Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
Sure, go for it.
Maybe I can actually get involved with this one, not that my chars have the power level to make much difference :P
Really, think of this along the lines of a Doctor Who storyline. What super-power does the Doctor have? Brains and knowledge. It shouldn't matter what power level the characters are, it should matter what they know, and how clever they are. This assumes I'm clever enough to do it right, of course.

Brawling Cactus from a distant planet.
I'm interested.
I'd be up for it, I'd like to try and get Buck embroiled in a proper plot for once.

It's been a long while since we had a community plot. Since the board merger they've kind of died off.
I was planning to start one myself (see "Project Chimera" that Mechano is working on and I need to prod Britannic to hurry up and post) though that wouldn't be on the same scale as your idea.
Hmm The Requiem War and (tooting my own horn here) the Chronodyne plot (which involved the three big SGs at the time) were the last big community plots created by ourselves, the second Rikti War was of course an ingame event.
I'd be glad to offer up Amy or DR Mechano, though less perhaps the good DR, comicbook science can be fairly rulesbreakery at times and I wouldn't want to ruin the whole plot with him.

Back to the subject at hand...
I always love community projects. It does a great job of giving the Unionverse a sense of reality. However due to minimal free time I can't really do much to support this. Although I suppose I can always write up a reactionary piece to anything that might be visable to any of my characters. Failing that im always up for brainstorming.

The entire EVIL group got this when they all had to huddle together in their base while the Second Rikti war started...people were not happy...
Okay, I'll have a think about this and see if I can come up with something interesting/different enough.

Update: I have a basic plot worked out. Going to take some planning.

Kata is available for this kind of plot.
Helena is not. I has plans for her, I does...
Right, sensibleness warning!
Big plots, in the past, have led to some kind of friction and fracturing amongst the people taking part and this has spilled outwards too!
This is no reason not to take part!
As long as people bear in mind that toe-stepping is likely* to occur at least once then hopefully that should minimise the damage!
*Likely, not definitely

One of my jobs when plotting this out is likely to be taking such into account.
* As much as possible, having uber-mega-powers-of-plot-futzing will make no difference what so ever. There is one class of character who is possibly capable of messing up the idea I have and I think I've got something to deal with them. If they decide that they are gods and can do what they like Rule 1 will apply.
* I will make it my aim to have a method of pulling the plug at all stages which does not let everyone feel like their work thus far was for nothing. It would be a shame to not run through to the conclusion, but Rule 1 says I'm not going to pull the community apart over it.
You may be wondering what Rule 1 is...
Rule 1: A community plot should be fun for all concerned, so when it stops being fun for the person writing it (namely me) it will stop happening.
i.e.
If people decide to make my life hell over it, I'll pull the plug.
If people start god-modding to make themselves 'win' I'll pull the plug.
If we get any lovely arguments like we did with the demon plot I ran recently, I'll pull the plug.
If it just stops being fun, I'll pull the plug.
Rest assured that I've done this before and that's why I repeat that I must be insane to be suggesting this.
Rule 2 is, of course, we do not talk about plot club.

I must be totally insane to even suggest this, but...
How interested would people be in an enormously large, episodic plot involving the potential for Universe Destroying levels of threat? Kind of Doctor Who series-arc class of storyline with individual 'episodes' aimed at particular characters or groups.
Bare in mind that I've got very little idea what the big arc would be about, aside from the fact that I'm rather liking the Crack in the Universe idea. I'm just sounding out opinions on whether something like that would be worth plotting out. I know I tend to get a bit offish about cosmic plots. I don't build characters designed to face them. I thought I'd have a go at making something huge, which could be handled by relatively ordinary people.
Anyway, if people think it's worth persuing, I'll see if I can plot something up to start once things have quietened down, but maybe get foreshadowed before then.
