The hero's new clothes----

I got tired with my old costome and spent buku bucks on a new outfit.

How to I get rid of my old Costume.

Do I delete the old costume with character?

I am but a level 24 hero and don't want to destroy what i am build up.

*snif* *sniff* *snorkle*

Secondly I have not seen any other members of the Super Group i joined. They have been offline for many days and although the Prestice I am earning alone is not the issue, but being the only one 'working' is tiring. I am thinking of leaving the group and after establishing a strong Nest Egg, strike out on my own and start Up my own ASAP>

As you progress through the game, you can earn up to 5 total costume slots (counting the one you start with)--1 at level 20, 1 at level 30, 1 at level 40, and one for turning in Halloween salvage to a special contact in either Croatoa or Nerva Archipelago.

If you haven't been there yet, check out the Icon costume tailor in the northwest corner of Steel Canyon to earn your level 20 costume slot. You can also completely redesign your first costume slot there at any time you choose, but as a new player, it will cost you a fairly significant amount of influence.

Main Hero: Chad Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1396 Badges
Main Villain: Evil Gulzow-Man (Victory) 50, 1193 Badges
Mission Architect arcs: Doctor Brainstorm's An Experiment Gone Awry, Arc ID 2093

Additionally, to change the costume you are wearing type /cc # into the chat window. # should be replaced with the slot number, 0 is your starting costume and 1-4 are your alternates (subject to unlocking the slots as Chad mentioned).

Regarding Supergroups, if you are unhappy with it then leave. Having a solo SG works although the prestige earning goes rather slowly . Alternatively ask around your server and see if you can find a more active SG.

You'll want to speak with Serge in the Tailor in the northern end of Steel Canyon. He'll give you a mission (defeat 30 Tsoo) and upon completion you'll unlock your second costume slot.

You may also want to speak to the City Representative in the Atlas Park City Hall and complete her series of missions to unlock capes.

Also, typing \k will open a window showing each of your costumes in miniature and you can click one to select it. Generally the backslash command opens a lot of menu options you can look through and play with.

Also, not to nitpick, but when you say "buku" do you mean "beaucoup?"

As mentioned: You can go to the tailor and change your current costume. You can also get extra costume slots (which will start out with a copy of your current costume) by doing hunt missions- at 24, you talk to Serge in the Steel Canyon icon, at 30 you can talk to someone in Independence Port. (Lauren maybe?) To switch between costumes, you can open the menu (I haven't tried \k -I'm sure it works) and go down to "Costumes".

As for the money and the SG and stuff: If the supergroup has things that are useful to you (teleporters, etc.) it may be easier to stay with it than to leave it. ONE WARNING: Some supergroups have storage boxes (for enhancements and such). It is possible to have enough rank to put things IN to the storage box but not to get them out again. Try it first with something you don't mind losing.

Send me a tell in game (@Boltcutter) or a PM here and I can try to meet you and set you up with a nest egg. 10 million or something, or if you have your own SG I'll get you some prestige. It's not that hard, I think, to learn to make money on the market. But if you're a new player, you've already got plenty of stuff to learn.

What server are you on, and when do you normally play?

Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

^This^

I recently made my "Sith" version of a toon by taking my saved 2nd version of my Golden Age/Sky Captain costume and coloring it all black. I've also got my brown leather jacket and khakis on two toons, but with their own separate and distinctive heads. I also took one toon's Snow Warrior suit and turned it black, added the cyborg detail 1 and a conical hat.

Some costumes you'll make look really good and shoudl be saved. I had to reload CoH on a new computer and Windows backup didn't get any of my CoH but I had backed it up a few months before, so I kept some of my old stuff by just moving the costume files over.

Yeah, I like playing dress up with my dolls. [but it's not as bad as The Sims]

Before you leave to strike out on your own, consider one thing you might not be aware of - if you're the only active member of a supergroup for a long enough period of time, the game will automatically put you in charge of that supergroup.

So rather than throw away everything that others have built up and put into that SG, to start a new one from scratch, why not just keep playing and see if you "inherit" the SG? I have inherited at least three SGs/bases this way. I didn't kick anyone else out of the group, but it's nice to have large fully functional bases that I don't have to do anything to except pay the rent.

Although I would change the names in a heartbeat if we ever got that option.

^^^ this.

Also before striking out on your own, remember that any prestige you earn while in a super group belongs to the super group. You won't take it with you. And if you're not in a super group you won't earn prestige at all (so no leaving and "building up a nest egg" before starting your own SG . . at least as far as prestige goes).

Of course you could leave, establish your own SG and then work on building it's prestige up before you try to do any recruiting . . .

If you like the SG name you're in now, and it's got a nice little bank of prestige and/or a reasonable base, then it's probably better to just stay and see if you eventually inherit it (if everyone has really abandoned it).

But there's certainly nothing wrong, or even hard, about building up a one-man SG.

6000+ levels gained and 8 level 50's
Hello, my name is Soulwind and I have Alt-Itis.

I am on the Champion server, cuurently working out of Talos City.

My character's name is Samson Moses. I wear a peplum and cape, sport long beard and hair and a weathered face.

oh, and I'm about 8 feet tall or more.

I quit the SG. After five days of soloing, I bailed out. I'm soloing now and enjoying it and hope to set up my own Super Group. My bank account filled up pretty good in my start at level 26 and finishing the day at level 27.

Is there a way on the chat to put up a want ad for everybody to peruse and choose?

Just made level 27 and my Magic Tanker (Invulnerability and Super Strength) is a kick in the pants to play. He is relentless. When I start up my SG, I will be a solo artist for the first week or so and then start my recruiting. Got the name picked out and an idea for a moderate base. I would pass along what i have learned for newbies and tactics that have worked for me

I am a retired state worker (old fart) who has been actively gaming for over 40 years. Being retired is quite enjoyable and I have all the time in the world to play COH. I played Champions in the 80's and 90's, but COH is aces with me.

I must go now, overmedicate and take a nap.

Take care, everybody.

Pretty much all the in-game stuff can be handled on the Consignment House system. If it even exceeds that, post what you are looking for in the Market and your home server forums. What sort of item do you have/want for this want ad?

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

It's not a thing, per se. I want to have an open call for reelance superheroes at level 28 to 23. To start my own SG.

If this can't be done, I'll hit the streets loooking for heroes.

Although gaming for over 40 years, i am a computer **** dum. Is there a way to find out the CURRENT list of superheroes on a specific server?
Thanks,

Nope. You might want to post something in the Champion server forum but you will still need to coordinate being on at the same time to invite them.

total kick to the gut

If you're dead set on starting your own SG, then might I suggest starting it now, that way you can be accruing prestige long before you start your base.

My advice would be to team with people, either start your own team or join other people's. It's a good way of finding people who aren't idiots before you invite them to your SG.

Also, Paragon Wiki is an excellent resource for, well everything . In particular if you want to start your own SG I recommend reading a bit about how bases work:

All good ideas.

KW STRYKER, as a frequent player on Champion i can tell you that there are several good and active SG's that i personally have characters in. If you're set on forming your own SG i'd say you should create it ASAP so that you can start banking prestige for your base.

Definitely say hi in the Champion server forums as well. There are several good global channels used for organizing server events and finding teams on Champion. The one i use most is BMT of Champion, but it's only one of several active channels.

You must say it quickly or the magic dissolves....
So there I was in Atlas Park, registering my SG (DIES IRAE or Day of Wrath) and then jumped right in and ordered my BASE thinking I can use Influence and when i found out I can't (The exchange rate from Influence to Prestige is Ridikalus) I realized that the only real exercise I get in my retirement is JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS.

My Level 27 Magic Tanker sits now Panhandling for money. Yet I shall not give up!! I shall emerge triumphant. My tanker is a character that can beat villains two levels above him. He can be ganged up by Tanker Types at his level and WIN!!. (Took on eight and clobbered them. Like a machine. It felt so goooooooood.)

Samson Moses is wonderful!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

"THWACK" (wife comes into computer room and hits me in the head with an eight pound dead carp).

I must go now and overmedicate. Gawd, I luv City of Heroes.

I've been awake for awhile and too tired to read the whoel thread so I don't know if this was said or not, but

For each new member of your SG (up to like the 15th I think), you get 20,000 prestige, they can even be your own alts, but that will give you a decent amount for starting up your base, then once your base has utilities in it people will be more interested in joining and so on so it's good to work on getting those first few members.

I'm also primarily on Champion. If you ever need any assistance, feel free to send a tell to @Bramphousian, and I'll do my best to help.

Thank you, Champion.

Over in the Market forums, we have all sorts of wicked secrets for how to make lots and lots of money. Ridiklaus amounts! (my wealthiest character is level 21.Wentworth's doesn't care.)

The really short version is "buy a recipe, craft it, sell the crafted IO for a lot more." There are tips and tricks to avoid losing money, but it's about that simple.

If you want, I will match up to 100 million inf that you want to turn into Prestige. @Boltcutter is my global, send a tell and we can set up a time.

If you want a few heroes in your SG to help buildup prestige send a tell to [@Nyx Nought Nothing] and i'll try to log in an alt for you to invite. Not only will it get the SG 20k prestige just for adding a member (up to 15), all my alts are always in SG mode. (The inf hit past 30 for staying in SG mode is trivial compared to what is made simply by selling unneeded drops.)
