PVP Drops bugged?
Is it only really bad luck or did they change drops without telling?

A better question might be: Did they mess up drop rates by accident? That's always possible.
Please note, however, 450 kills means SQUAT. That is not a large enough sample to draw conclusions.

got one this weekend and so did my freind he got a panacea proc and i got a lohold thats how it happens sometimes
i got three last night
You could PvP for months and defeat literally thousands and not get a single drop, in all probability you should get a few in those numbers but don't expect them to drop substantially.

I pvped the last couple weeks and also got some decent drops approx. every 90 kills.
But since the last patch I got no drop in 450 kills... Is it only really bad luck or did they change drops without telling? |
1) I was on vacation from working overseas and had the time to waste
2) I solo'd and didn't split the drops with anyone
Not sure if the system is working as intended, but I wasn't unhappy with the results.

95% Confidence the drop rate is between 1/90 and 1/380 with a center of 1/180
That's from badging on my badge toons. For perspective I have had sessions where I got a drop on the first kill and 2 over the course of the session and other times have gotten toons to 400 rep with no drops
Its not broken its just a random variable with a small likelihood of occurence
im fairly sure the drop rate is 1/100 chance per rep valid kill, and once you get a drop you are ineligible for another drop for 10 min

However was it not insinuated in a post somewhere that there was more variables that just that. I'm sure I read that there was various mechanisms to ensure this wasn't abused, meaning PvPing only grants drops. Of course whatever this means who knows.
I beg to differ that it's a simple drop rate. I believe there are strings attached.

Actually Uber I think there is still a timer on the drops themselves so you have the 5 min rep timer and the 10 min recipe timer.

Didn't they change the drop timer to 5 minutes late last year? I recall reading something about that. Also, your PVP kill needs to generate rep in order to create a chance for a drop and that is also on a 5-minute timer.

makes me kinda sad, I read threads like these and it all seems to be hearsay. Why don't/can't/haven't the devs given specific terms for how these things drop along with an actual drop rate that is suppose to intended?

Im not sure if this happens still or not, but getting killed during your 5 minute "Rep rest" period (Defined as the period of time in which you don't give rep to a person who kills you) gets reset every time you die. So, if you have Team A rolling over Team B. The chance of you getting a drop is slim, even though you are killing them quite a bit

No there is no longer a reset on he timer like there used to be. Eg. you kill player a 5 min timer starts, you earn rep and you have a chance for a drop 3 min 30 sec after first kill you kill player a again no rep, no chance for drop, you kill player 5min after the first kill, 5 min timer starts again, you earn rep and get chance for drop.
