Can I use Howling Twilight with no dead heroes?

HT has a lot of attractive debuffs. -500% regen would be nice against SV's, and -62.5% slow is nothing to laugh at. But... if you need to have dead buddies around... it's pretty much a wasted power on a team with any level of competence.

sure you can , its a great power for AV fights and to just drop anytime--if the teams not dieing at all- witch is likely with a dark defender on the team- go for it - it will come back soon enough

Excellent! Thank you... I'll do that.

They should put in the info "This power does not need dead ppl and is one of your strongest debuffs in your arsenal."

I try to slot for maximum recharge for Howling Twilight; it is really that good.

Now that I think about it, wouldn't Dark Pit + Howling Twilight be an amazing opener, with the combined disorient? I use Howling Twilight on my mastermind to stun mobs, but it only stuns the minions. With another stun it should at least get lieutenants, too.

Yes. Yes it really is. I use it regularly on my D3 to open with.

i applaud your insight and tactical thinking.
i use Howling Twilight as a preemptive mez & debuff far more often than as a rez. It's not unknown that i'll ask teammates to leave a minion alive so i can use it to rez a fallen teammate because HT is still recharging from having used it earlier in the fight to soften up the enemies or save another teammate from needing a rez.

This is exactly why my Robots/Dark mastermind took photon grenades for more AoE mezzing potential. I would also hit the HT before the dark pit because you WILL stun all the minions with HT, no chance for return fire from minions.

Best power I ever used when I was running a darkity. I used it every time it was up.

All. The. Time.

It stuns bosses.

Triple slot HT and Tar Patch with recharge... they're worth it.

Wait...you don't have to have a fallen team member...*blush* I did not know that!

Arguably the best rez power in the game because it's the only one(that I know of) that's useful any time.

I will not rest until we have in-game throwable pies!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the addition of a Dark Defender/Corruptor/mastermind to a Rikti Raid can turn the tide. There's nothing better than rezzing 10+ fallen comrades when all looks bleek. Of course, the player using Howling Twilight usually finds themselves face down shortly thereafter...

Yep, use Howling Twilight early and often. It's a great power and I use it every time it is refreshed and there are enemies to make it worthwhile. Saving it for rezzing people is Doing It Wrong™

Well darn, I think I need to look back at my builds then!

I rate Dark Servant, Fearsome Stare, and Howling Twilight as a trifecta of dark miasma powers which most players would want ASAP if they knew what all three could do for them.

I rate Shadow Fall, Tar Patch, and Darkest Night as indispensible, but they do not have the immediate impact the dark miasma trifecta have.

Funny thing that alot of people are still finding that out. I had to remind people sometimes on TF's why I'm using it on Bosses/AV's/EB's that are pain in the buttoxes. It's a very good power to use for the stun factor everytime it's up. 3 Rech IO's and it's golden!

Yes!!! and it can get even better if your a defender.
Dark epic has Oppressive Gloom. A toggle pbaoe stun.

Now, you can lob a dark pit and watch it go splat and chase in with OG running.

If any mobs arent staggering in a drunken stupor you have an auto hit stun to fall back on!

I use it all the time just as a debuff! Sometimes, on the final mission of the ITF, the sound effect makes people think Rom is rezzing. I don't do it on purpose. Maybe. Teehoo.

Does using Howling Twilight on an Oil Slick still rez players?

Yes it does. Just like when it blew BAB's mind when Oil Slick Arrow+Howling Twilight was used to stage a mass rez while players were testing the (then newly) modified Hami raid some time back. Still works the same.

Lucks and/or (Eye of the Magus/Demonic) usually solve that problem.

My DDD had the 10M HP healing badge before I9 thanks to rezzing Hamidon raid wipes. (For any who did not know, rezzing people counts as healing them their full base HP - any bonus HP they have probably don't count. Rezzing 20-odd level 50s adds up fast, even if you don't do it a lot.)
