I have enough toons already, and I know people who are already maxed out so wouldn't get anything. I'd honestly rather a costume slot.

Having a level 50 on your account means jack to me these days.

The only thing I look at with respect and pride, are those players, who regardless of their level, are actually FUN to play with, and, play their characters with great skill. That is something to be proud of.

While I might think 20 is a touch too low (30, IMHO, would be better,) I have no problem with them lowering the requirement. More people can enjoy Khelds then. (Oh, and those other, lesser EATs with the really horrid storyline and cruddy cutscene at the end.)

Yeah, I got mine unlocked at 50. I did it in I4 (heroside, obviously.) I have three Khelds at 50, a Widow at 50 and a Bane at 48. So what? Onoes, someone else can get them at 20? I don't see how this impacts my gameplay at all, other than having more Khelds to play with.

Absolutely agreed. My first hero 50 (and my first main) was a WP tanker. Mainly soloed, and only power-levelled from about 47 during the halloween event 2 years ago. Immediately, I rolled up a Peacebringer and... she sucked. No damage. No defence. Just plain sucked. I got her into her mid teens or so, and then shelved her until i could be bothered to deal with her. It wasn't until I got my dom up to 50 that I went back to the PB, respecced her out of some stupid power choices, and started playing her in earnest. She's 35 now and no powerhouse of destruction but certainly a solid, capable character.

Now, I'm not sure whether 20 might not be a bit low for EAT unlocking given how quickly you can get there, and I suspect that a lot of newbies will have the same problems I did (I might have made it 30 or 35 if it was me), but I fully support this decision of the devs. This is an alt-heavy game, and I'm sure there are many, many people who have been playing for years and have many alts but no 50s. In fact, my boyfriend is one of them (he has a 50 villain, but no hero).

I do wonder what the devs will do if, say, 90% of the game population has access to HEATs after I17, but still nobody plays them. Or if a bunch are created, but never played past early levels? Revamp, a la stalkers and doms?

Yes please. I could use 17 new character slots.

I'll trade you a character slot for 3 costume slots and 51 tailor tokens. Off one toon. I must have about 500 of the stupid things.

While that may be its original form, the "please" version goes around quite a bit as well. In fact, it's far more commonly used.

Some of us where them as pride as actually accomplishing something. Now they become some tripe reward you can easily get in one double exp day got new toon to 24 and didn't even push or farm.

So what took forever, I remember waiting for arachnos soldiers to hit live. We hurried to finish off a villain toon for a hero buddy that hadn't ran villains before. Well now you can get that for not even getting 1/2 way through game. And since we made those 1st 24 levels so easy to get why not just give everybody the damn things with a paid subscription...

But the rest of the game and coming installment looks great. But wow level 20...
I have not a hero above lvl 20, but as far as the VEATs are concerned, it's like chopping 30 levels off of the 74 levels total to to get your crab/bane. 50 levels on any toon, then a brutal stuggle uphill with a SoA or Widow, in order to get something decent that you can work with.

I don't see how this impacts other players either. How on earth does this affect your game play? Why would you care if someone can access a HEAT or VEAT earlier than before? If it doesn't directly affect you, there is absolutely no reason to ***** about it. Unless of course you're a conceited, self-righteous type of person.

I'm unsure if this point was made (I kinda skimmed through page 2) but there's one major benefit for everybody if more people are playing the epic ATs:

More people are playing the epic ATs!

Why do you think the VEAT's arcs kinda slowly vanished as levels increase? The Devs write content based on who benefits the most from it. So they're not going to devote tons of time working on content for an AT a very small fraction of players can access. And they frontloaded that content because, statistically, the largest number of the VEATs are going to be level 20 and below.

So more people playing them = larger benefit to making more epic AT specific content in the future.

How, exactly, is this a bad thing?
