I've been looking to try my hand at an AV. Is Tyrant on the easier end of the spectrum? I'm running Katana/Regen with decent positionals, so I can take most types of damage well, I think.

As it's all energy damage, it allowed me to turn off Tough (wasn't doing me any good), and save on END. My build isn't completely IOed/Accoladed out yet.
The SG mate who was taking turns with me, used a fully IOed out Katana/Regen, who was doing decently against Tyrant.
I however, don't know what his positional defense was, I just know he does have quite a bit of it, and also had and used DA.
Tyrant seemed to just get lucky with a string of bigger hitters, and the player slow on heals, as his only reason for not taking him down.
I had no idea exactly where in range Tyrant was for soloing AVs, I just wanted to solo him first, as he's Tyrant!
From an in game standpoint, taking on Tyrant by yourself should be a crowning achievement.

in all honesty, i think tyrant is extremely underpowered right now, he is prolly one of the weakest praetorians, even though hes supposed to be the super powered leader of them, and in the background information of tyrant on the GR website, it says that he basically solo'd hamidon (or at least weakened him)
i dont really want him to turn into another reichsman, but he definitly needs some improvements to at least be on par with statesman.

I've also always been a bit perturbed by the fact that Tyrant has to rely on the use of Marauder's minions. He's friggin' Tyrant man! He should have a squad of private badasses assigned to guard him or, at the very least, a combination of all of his underlings' minions so that it's not just Marauder redux.
I think Tyrant is a fairly average to kind of easy AV. He could use a buff. Grats, though! If you can beat him, you can probably beat a lot of them.

I don't think soloing him will be an option, not even for perma PA ill/rads (baseless speculation)

My only goal at this time was to do it, and Tyrant seemed thebest one to solo from a "Yeah. I took on Tyrant by myself." stand point :P

Congrats! I haven't tried Tyrant yet. My first was Marauder on my Fire/SR and it's definately a rush when you do it. Now kill more!
You should seriously go try out shadowhunter, this guy is seriously difficult. Nasty defense debuffs, hits like a truck, has a huge self heal.

Trying to get a few more purples into the build before doing another. AV soloing takes along time, would be nice to pull a little more DPS.
