Why does Hamidon move?

Twice in the last month, we had this crazy thing happen while fighting Hamidon: he starts jumping around trying to move away from the group, and ends up quite off-center. The mitos still spawn in their regular locations, so in theory we could kick Hamidon right out of its goo.

Why does this happen, though? People mention knockback, but when I used the Power Analyzer on Hamidon, he had 5000 mag resistance to Knockback, and I think Repel as well. I'm interested in hearing theories.

Looks like it's spawning in a spot a mito should be.

I think it's obvious that Hami is trying to leave Freedom. Over on Justice, we have that fat blob in check and he doesn't move anywhere... except to Hami-oblivion.

You guys really need to get your gigantic single-celled organisms in line.

Actually he has moved in the villian side raids on Justice. Which you would know if you finally finished your villian *hint hint, nudge nudge*

Yeah, I know, Moooooom.

Actually, I just brought over a 50 MM from Infinity. I'll take her through Warburg and grab some nukes, and Bloody Bay for some Shivans this week and then try and make my first villain raid next week.

My brute is 39, so he's getting there, as well.

I think Hamidon was scared by the number of macros Leo has in his trays and took a little step back.

Here's an experiment;

Make some jello in a mold.

Put jello on a table.

Now pretend your a tank.

Punch the jello.

Did it move?

If it did you have your answer.

If it didn't slot for damage.

If you MUST know it seems to have to do with the raid overcoming hamis KB resistance. I've never had a power analyzer to check his stats when this has happened, however I'm tempted to pull together an all Mind/FF raid and try to drone him >=)

Some times, people drop Ouro portals near Hami. They're essentially lightly griefing the raid, as the usual intent is to get someone to accidentally click on it instead of Hami, causing an opening in an otherwise full zone. (Light grief to the raid overall, major downer to whoever gets caught by it.)

Anyway, this seems to make "meandering Hamidon" very likely. I have no idea why it would cause that, but it's one thing I've seen pretty consistently correlated with him moving, and has seemingly caused him to move multiple times in the same raid. He has moved in the past before we ever had Ouro portals, but it was always extremely rare.

I don't know, but it is annoying when I have to move my entire MM team to a new rock. Somebody always gets shot.

I haven't done a Hami raid but was thinking of two things. First, O portals actually have a bounding box and seem to take priority in "filling space" due to their immobile nature. With Hami being either the largest or second largest GM in the game, he might be overlapping with the Ouro and is effectively being pushed out of the way.

Second, O portals are notorious for interfering with varying forms of teleporters like the ones for bases and Pocket D. I have to wonder if Hami is having his natural movement "hiccup" due to the Ouro.
