[Im pretty much still trying to catch my breath from this one...
What can I say about everyone that showed up for this event... you guys rock so hard. These matches were incredible, obviously we had winners and some losers, and the losers had some words for us....But I assure you this was handled as fair as it could possibly could have been.
The attendance was amazing, we actually had to turn away 6 people because the teams we going to be un-even.
It was a 8v8 and an 8v8. 32 people for a Champion PVP event?!?!? wow havent seen that in a lonnnnng time. Thank you all for making this a huge success.
The 4 Finalists were as follows:
4th Place: BIG PUN the crusher (Tank)
3rd Place: noub (Blaster)
2nd Place: Most Amazing Headache (Troller)
1st Place: Luclin (Widow)
If you missed out watching the final fight, you missed one of the best "BATTLES" I have ever seen on CoH.
P.o.N Will continue to host the "Clash of Champions" Tourney on a monthly basis. The format might change a bit after speaking with several dozen of you who provided "feedback", and Niviene also gave some VERRRRY intresting ideas to make it to where everyone will see that were trying to be as fair as possible in every aspect. We're never going to be able to make every single person happy, but tonight I think overall this was a grand event in everyway.
Special Thanks go out to Dazz Marvelous for sitting in as guest Host, And again Thank you to Niviene for taking time to come hang with us.
So start working those pvp builds, come check out the nightly kickball games, or get with Undead Cyborg, Elf Stalker or me if you have ANY questions on pvp in general. Im doing this with out asking their permission, but I think you could also ask 4shes or MAH, Both are in the tops of pvp.
We want to see you out here having fun Champs and there were SEVERAL first timers at this event that had a blast!!!! I'm going to throw sinny and Cherry out there, neither are considered "pvp'er's" yet showed up, and both were in till the later rounds, and they had a fantastic time, and did REALLLLY well. Proud of the effort both of them made. Hope more of Champions people who have even just a spark of intrest come hang out and see how much fun pvp can really be

The first round we had an 8v8 in the office map. Epic chaos ensued, over 90 deaths between the 2 teams lol. Sorry Niviene :/ Finals was a tough fight, thanks for the match MAH.
This was a fun event. Free server transfers made it possible for me to attend (Freedom native). It was a nice break from organized play. The random aspect of the teaming allows pvp newcomers to possibly team with veterans and at least get some basics with target calling and tactics. Thanks to bud for organizing!
The atmosphere for this was mostly laid back, non-judgmental, and just for fun. In many cases the competitve nature of pvp players overshadows the encouragement of new players and steals the fun from matches. IMO the pvp community could use more events like this.
Side note: I played Luclin for this event, Steatoda was taken on the Champion Server ><

This is EXACTLY what we were shooting for.
Laid back fun filled pvp that everyone could take part in. Thanks for seeing that. Bringing new people in the world of pvp isnt easy if everytime they get in there, the "pvp pros" Rip off their hearts out through their azzes and show it to them as they die..... over....and over...and over....and over.... ask niviene, Thats not fun. (Sorry Niviene, had to get my licks in on ya too. btw if you need pvp help, your welcome on Champion anytime
) But they way that 95% of the people conducted themselves tonight was outstanding. I was getting tells after the matches from people that havent tried pvp, asking if next time if their lvl 50 could they get in on the action. w00t!!! PVP is makin a srs return to Champs folks!!!

Grats on a successful event guys.
Despite the through whooping I received in round 1 I had fun. Inspired me to design some toons for pvp. Hope to see more events.

There is a 1v1 style tournament built into the arena options. All join and the game will set random matches. There is a 2 minute break between each match and the arena will automatically draw you into your next fight. It is pretty cool, but it does take forever.

No Problem man I had a blast, and next time I'll have a different plan so maybe I can hit through! Niv, I just wanted to say it was cool seeing a red name for my first time in 45 months of play time! And I just wanted to thank everybody that's helped me get to where I am after only 5 PvP 1v1s/2v2s to test the build I came into the tournament clueless and if it were not for 4shes on vent helping me when I asked for it I don't know what I would have done.

hahah I had a blast although I was pretty much face down the entire 1st round. Sorry to my team but thanks for being good sports. I couldn't stop laughing long enough to actually attempt survival and I wish Cherry had tp'd me to that hiding place.
Going forward it really should be considered a "handicap" if you're on Niviene's team and therefore that team should get the auto win.

Great turnout for a fun event, and a thank you to all who participated. Hosting these events is a learning experience for us as well, and the experience will help you to run smoother in future. Thanks again for a fine event all.

Although I was a little disappointed with how the teams were set up (my team got only 1 kill, the other had like 50 in the match), it was overall very fun and I hope you guys run many more of these. Only suggestion would be maybe to have team captains who pick their teams kickball-esque style. Thanks for leading the event PoN.
