Bear with me a couple of months and I'll see if my nin/elec does acceptably well with pylons and avs; all the numbers indicate it should be good.

My Kat/SR Stalker soloed his first AV (Aurora Borealis) at level 33, so it's very possible.
If at high level, Spiderlings from the Mace Mastery pool can become a major asset at taking down AV/Heroes: they do respectable damage like Fire Imps, but you can add procs such as the Achilles Heel -Res, or the damaging ones from DefDbf-sets. Having 3 brainless allies near you increases your Crit-chance from base 10% to 19%, too. Pretty neat, huh?
Not to mention that you can placate and rest during battle in case of exhaustion and injury. Having a reset button available every while is handy for controlling the flow of the battle. You might say it's cheating, but it's not.
It's just dirty.
My Nin/Nin and DM/Regen have both solo'd several AV's. A little bit of planning, and it's not as hard as some would make it out to be
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict
I have had a kinda slow past with Stalkers; I think they're nice, but the theme has always died out in me. Now I'm thinking of making a new one, an EM/SR if you'd like to know; though, this isn't the point of my thread, at least not now. My curiosity is whether or not Stalkers are able to solo AVs.

/Regen is probably the most survivable set versus AVs and Heroes. Defense is easy to come by, and stacking that with enormous healing potential makes you very hard to kill so long as you pay attention. Ninja Blade is probably the most survivable primary thanks to Divine Avalanche. It's not going to be good damage against AVs and Heroes because of lethal-only, but that's why you slot in three or four Achilles Heel's procs.
Claws/Regen and yes. If something doesn't kill me in 30 seconds, it generally never will. It may take a long while, but I'll get them eventually. I've got staying power, and if things go really awry, I've got MoG + superspeed to give me a precious few seconds to heal up to full.
In the past I reckoned a Stalker can solo two AVs on the first SF..or is that help them to finish eachother off?
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

Would make sense. Pets add to Vigilance so I could see them adding to Assassination.
I was originally thinking "pets don't add to khelds' inherent," but that's specific to the AT on your team, not just the number of teammates. Knowing it adds to vigilance, however, which is more similar.... dangit now I have to go change my build around

I can see this working but it sounds...off to me. Mostly because of the presence of masterminds. A Ninja MM is effectively +5/+6 pets in range, and if a merc hits gang war. It just feels a little "too good to be true" for pets to count, maybe if there's a cap.
I don't think other people's pets would count toward it; is it just your pets that count toward vigilance or everyone's?

Call it bugged or WAI, when I get those guys out my DPS rises thanks to increased criticals and the Spiderlings' own contribution.
There might be a cap to crit chance, but I don't know about that, really. I don't team up with MMs on my Stalker very often, and even then they will be Robotics or Thugs.
I'd recommend getting the Spiderlings anyway, esp. if you are going to invest in +Rchg.
Everyone's pets counts towards vigilance. Teaming with a Plant Controller/Dominator will give you nearly perma -400% end discount because of Carrion Creepers

Meh, Soul and Leviathan have much better powers (Shadow Meld, Water Spout, Hibernate); I'd rather have use of those and take the one pet than take two inferior powers just to get the three spiderlings, but that's just me. |
On the other powers, well, it's a matter of taste and need, really. If you're softcapped, Shadow Meld probably won't do much. My Stalker's focus is on AV soloing (and merit farming), so the little buggers speed that one up considerably, looking down the math, the Spiderlings contribute around 85 DPS on their own (damage slotting, procs, -res from Achilles). Increased crit rate is just gravy.
The snipe works as a set mule to get the last needed 2.5% melee and AoE def, otherwise I agree, it's pretty meh.
Disruptor Blast is for those times when I actually team up with my Stalker, it's worse animation time wise than Ball Lightning, but still very much worth it to blast that thing on the unsuspecting spawn if the team is steamrolling. The redraw is annoying, but its negative effects are going to be fixed in the future.
If I ever feel the need for a second build, Leviathan would probably be its epic pool. Hibernate being the ultimate reset button for HP/End, for a set like SR that has neither, would be stupidly powerful. Water Spout is a lot of mitigation via Knockup, so there's that too. Funnily enough, it can provide the same 2.5% melee and AoE defense via a cheap-o set.
