as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.

Oh Gosh, I will attempt* to attend this but as it is the day after my birthday... Well, ya know.

This year, let's see if we can beat our "best prize" so far.

We had two players whose characters met at the Festival one year. They both joined our SG and became RP partners (characters became a romantic couple, IC). Well, it turns out they became more than RP partners, as their romance has gone RL and they're threatening to happily ever after together.

Sure beats a few inf, dunnit?

Yes! You definitely don't want to miss the Battlecry/Emote contest. It's the best one!

And I'm not just saying that because I'm a co-judge...

Just a little update. We have over 1 billion influence in prizes, IOs, costume salvage, and candy canes as prizes for the first, second, and 3rd place winners of each contest. The best of show first place winner will also receive a commission piece of their character!

Remember, it's this Saturday at 8-11pm EST at the Galaxy City Arena, Emerald Section.

They're getting married soon (IRL), too. I still think it's one of the sweetest "how we met" stories I've heard, at least how they tell it.

Heh, I was under the impression that this was an RP SG. But when the banner event hit Galaxy and heroes were yelling for help the majority of the people in the arena declined so they could continue the costume contest. For a non RP group that's fine because after all, it's just an event triggered by turning in salvage. For an RP group though...

I just can't see Captain Marvel saying "I would try to divert that meteor that's about to hit the city but I have a Chili contest to judge by golly."

Now I can definitely see Guy Gardner saying that. Except for the "by golly" part.

That's cause Guy is a massive ***** and, in their defense, It would have been a huge disruption if everyone shuttled out and dropped everything. In truth, we had enough folks out there kicking over banners that we didn't need to have all bajillion heroes pour out and stomp face. Sure, it woulda been fancy to see but getting everything put back in exactly the same order as when we left would have been hyper problematic, near impossible actually.

In truth, I sorta like the idea that a handful of heroes basically said, "Don't worry guys. Just chill. We got this. You guys deserve a break." And then went out and stomped face and returned happily. Which is what my character did.

There's no need to divide the heroic community. We don't want a marvel Civil War event cropping up on our hands. Gods of the Golden Age forbid. *shivers at the thought*

I just kind of pictured it as one of those comic book events where a bunch of groups are gathered for some reason or another when something big happens and each team leader shouts out their battle cry as they go rocketing out of the building.

I have nothing against the players behind it what so ever. Nobody is forced to join in any event and never should be. However my hero who was in the costume contest lineup at the time could now not be convinced to team with or join the Gods even if he was offered leadership.

I wanted to thank the Gods of the Golden Age for hosting this fine shindig. Had a lot of fun, got third in one contest with one of my toons, and saw some great costumes.

As for the banner event, the toon I was on at the time is a bit of a Guy Gardner, so it fit him to wait until the contest was done before he flew out to try to help (too late, as it turned out). Still, it's not like a regular contest in Atlas, where everyone's out in the open already.

Overall, though, much fun had. And grats to Outback!

I don't mean to threadjack... But a Virtue Civil War would be all kinds of awesome. At least in a giant on-going RP event way. Though finding a reason for the heroes to be at each other's throats would be difficult.

Anyway, back on topic. Sorry I had to miss this event. I was able to make the one last year (or was it the year before?) with my scrapper and it was a lot of fun. Even won a costume contest.

Right, we're going to run off in the middle of the event we were hosting and cause disorder to something that we've been planning for Virtue for a while because of a randomly generated zone event in the middle of it. It would be unprofessional if we did so and would probably tick off most that attended. Use some suspension of disbelief or something if it bothered you that much.

I hope that everyone had a great time and thank you for coming. It's you that made the festival a success. I'd also like to send a special thank you to DJ Sultry Siren of the Cape Radio station for filling in for Posthaste. You rock!

And just like last year's festival...the Rikti came by to say hello about a half hour after everything was over. They were met by the same butt-kicking force of justice as the previous year.

Just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to the various Golden Age Heroes supergroups which sponsored this event. I had been dining out and almost missed the event. I'm glad I didn't. Even if Ray Gunn had won nothing (I'm still in shock over that), it would still have been a blast. There were a lot of great costumes and concepts to be seen and everyone was super nice.

My thanks also to the Cape. The WWII-era music was fun and set just the right tone for the evening.

Cheers all! Most party fun I've had in-game since that massive tanker event on Champion a couple of years back.

Thanks from the Gods of the Golden Age and Young Gods of the Golden Age to everyone who came out and made it a great time. Really guys, had a great time and it was a lot of fun for us to put on! You certainly didn't make it easy on us judges.

Big thanks to the Cape Radio and Sultry Siren.
