Where Is Everyone?!
Fixed. I am fully aware that I am unusual in this regard. I am also aware that I am in the minority and the majority would find me, string me up, and force me to listen to Yanni music for days on end if my proposition was to ever occur.

This. Although not knowing how to get out of AP is ridiculous if I didn't know the xp was nerfed I could have easily leveled to 50 in AE because I'm lazy... even in a video game although I'm sure at some point I'd have wanted to get out and see the rest of the city.
If someone's polite, then you should help them, no matter how basic their question might be, or how high their level is.

At the same time having gone to different zones along the way to 50 there's still a LOT I don't know because I did mostly radio missions.
I do hope they fix AE... I've run a couple different missions in there and some of them are really fun but while I am being entertained I'd still rather get normal xp.

I dunno...Yanni seems to be a little too crowd-pleasing. If I was in the mind to REALLY torture someone, I think I'd go with Zamfir, Master of the Pan Flute. Or maybe John Tesh. Or if I was feeling REALLY mean, Lady Gaga.

I would fend you off with this:
Do NOT give them any ideas.... because after they're done with me, I'll track you down and GET you!

Yes, it's as horrible as you could imagine.

I didn't have a problem with the ones who actually wanted to learn and were willing to listen. Some of them have gone on to become decent players since then.
Hesitant to chime in here, but... The problem I had with those who only PLed in the AE, was that they didn't STAY there. The got to 50, and then decided the rest of the game and non-AE teams were for them. I have no problem explaining the game to a new player on a low level (below 30) toon, but if you are lvl 50, you should know you way out of AP. Call me an elitist if you want, but really, AP?
So what they did was leave the AE, and then started to screw things up for others who were playing the game, and not sitting at the end of a map while some one else played for them. I am not saying everyone who did the AE thing was like this, but there were enough to give the AE a bad name. Just my take on it. |
My problem was with the ones who had a whole whopping 3 days game experience and insisted that they knew everything about everything because they have 3 level 50's already. I don't know about you, but I have an issue with being told that I don't know how to play a character I've been playing for 3+ years by someone who started yesterday.
Fortunately, most of those players seem to have either left or crawled under a rock somewhere.

@OP: A combination of more instanced teams, beta testing and the Valentines event / Spring Fling might lead to 'less' players being visible. Also of course, the time of day and day of week also affect numbers just as does the popularity of the server you're on. With the suggestions of trying more populated servers, starting your own teams, and going global chat channels you should find yourself never wanting for some buddies to go fight/create crime.
@Tank Washington: For you I recommend 1 Chill Pill taken daily.

Sorry, I just don't care about XP in AE. They could take it out entirely for all I care. If I run an AE arc, I run it for the fun and the story, not for "rewards". The arc itself is my reward.
Yes, that's WAI... but just for now. I'm reasonably hopeful they'll implement a fix for this soon- the really hopeful part of me hopes this is one of the adjustments to the AE for I17.
