Test Client Download

Is anyone else having issues dowloading the test client?

I got a new machine and put the -test at the end up my updater.exe shortcut like always.

It is launching the patcher, but all I get is Connecting#1,2,59 etc.

Any thoughts?

Well, yes and no. I ran CoH test server on the old computer and it ran perfectly. I copied all the files over to the new computer and set it up exactly the same way as it was set up on the old computer and......it checksums for about 15 seconds then just hangs while trying to download a file manifest. So whatever is wrong has to be on their end.

My guess is the test server is just being overwhelmed with people trying to update it? I dont know why that would be....

Anyways, going to try and recopy everything and transfer it over again and see if that helps.

Having the same issue. Thought it was just me.

Might be a lot of ppl, like me, that never used the server that got the offer to test (removed cause I did not know about not talking about this ) are putting a strain on the system.

Though it did not ask me about setting test up on my pc. So there might be more to it then just that. I don;t know.

I'm having the same issue. Might have something to do with recent server maintenance.

I'm also having issues with the Test Server. I got the invite so not that and doubled checked to see if I did this correctly.

"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -test

So far I can't access the Test.

Now I know I ran the Test server on this computer before.

Add another to the "Connecting #1... Connecting #2... " bandwagon.

I was actually downloading slowly last night, but the connection got lost before I completed. I've checked websites with time-sensitive content (news, weather, etc.) and they showed current data, so I know it's not the connection on my end.

Probably just maintainance and patches. It was working fine 7 hours ago.

It finally started updating after 20 minutes then it stalled.

Server might just need a reboot, but we'll have to wait until the West Coast wakes up.

Hello, everyone. Guess what my problem is.

I thought I was going crazy until I jumped in the forums and read all of the rantings about me not being the only one not able to access test. Obviously for whatever reason we are trying to access test, NcSoft is probablyt aware of it. So I would suggest a little patience. As this has happened before, it will probably clear up later on. So sit back and watch TV or for us who just got snow dumped on us, go outside and play for a while :P

There are probably a LOT of people who just checked their mail and/or are snowed in with nothing else to do today.

I get past the Connecting #1, #2, etc. But, it gets to a point of "fixing files", and the speed is ridiculously slow, anywyere from 2-20 kb/sec, resulting in a remaining time of anywhere north of 25-50 hours. I've tried several times since yesterday morning, with the same result. Erg.
