My 1st ITF
the nictus AVs around him sacrifice themselves to rez him
killing the nictus AVs are actually harder (in the case of the healing nictus) and they award no xp, so killing rommy 4 times is the best way to go.
edit: the nictus AVs have to have LoS of rommy in order for him to rez, otherwise he wont rez
ahhh I get it, and you get the costume pieces after killing him 5 times, is that correct?
Onto Killing Romulus.....why does he rez so much? I didn't have time to ask anyone else on the team as pounding his lights out was the main goal. So for future ITF's I may wind up on, what makes this dude rez?

First, you can read any info on the Imperious Task Force at this link.
Second, the experience of Romulus and his four Nictus is that they're basically supercharging him during the fight. When Romulus falls, a Nictus "gives" his life force to resurrect him to fight you again. Doing this by the book, you have to fight Romulus four times in a row before you're done, not to mention the Nictus spawns and ranged attacks from his backup AVs.

Congrats on running it and being successful , I tried twice and both times failed due to poor leadership ( not me but the person running the mish ) and people leaving ( not dcing ) right as we are fighting him , so I gave up . May run it again on Virtue with some toons some day , but again congrats and enjoy the armor
So I already have the pieces? yay! Sorry to hear that Nova, but I in no way ran it. In fact I was the youngest on the team, vetbadge-wise. Luckily everybody didn't mind directing me when needed lol. Otherwise I would have attempted doing it Brute-style (nothing left alive), as the scrapper on our team kept suggesting lol, typical of a scrapper. The whole shabang only took about 90min.
and sorry that you have not been able to complete this TF due to poor leadership/team makeup Nova.
ps. 90 mins is not very speedy. Speed runs are done in 30 mins or less, our fastest one has been about 23 mins.

Have they changed the ITF? I've never seen more than three Nicti in the final mission, and we only had to defeat Rom four times.
J-Man- Lieran, if you were Paris Hilton, I'd be the chihuahua in your purse.

It has changed dramatically. Rom himself is a nictus now. He glows all purply and goes NOM NOM NOM... ALL YOUR LANDS WILL BE MINE...

As to the costume options that are unlocked, there are actually 3 tiers of unlockable costume pieces involved in the ITF. The only tier that matters to most people (i.e. everyone except for Broadsword and Shield users) is the middle tier (Roman armor and few weapons and shields). The first tier (unlocked with the Centurion badge) and third tier (unlocked by defeating Nictus Rommy 5 times) give additional broadswords and shields, so they don't matter to most people. The Nictus Sword and Shield are incredibly awesome imo and totally worth the additional run required to get them.
I am jealous - I got invited to my first ITF last week, toon Magis Flame. Did not have a clue what to do so pulled up the wiki, studied the storyline, found out about the costume pieces, wanted them and got all excited. I went happily into the first part of the TF and my computer shut itself off...just shut down and would not come back up cleanly so I could not get back in. The worst part was not being able to tell the team members why I disapeared, the next worst was knowing I missed out on getting the costume pieces. Cannot wait to try again and glad you had a successfull experience.
Well I got my first IFT on last night, good times! We had 3 Brutes (including me), 1 defender, 1 scrapper, 1 SoA, and I think a dom?
EDIT: It was a Kin, not a dom. thanks again, Kinuck! 1st mission I faceplanted because I couldn't keep up running through the cave and wound up trying to take out the mobs with the scrapper (we laid in the sand until the team finished with the saving of the girlz) it was a 'speed' ITF. 2nd mission went better. Kill all the cysts. We kicked some cyst butt. Onto Killing Romulus.....why does he rez so much? I didn't have time to ask anyone else on the team as pounding his lights out was the main goal. Yes, the glass is half full, there is always another perspective and no they are not following you.

Getting old, but at least I have scrutiny-focused forumites like yourselves to keep me in check.
