Ok, ballpark it. What do you think the chances that we will be getting new mish maps with GR? I mean like Office/Tunnels/Warehouse types? And if so, how many?

Im hoping for about 2-3 new map types that get intergrated into the whole game. Red, blue, AND rogue.

I think it's incredibly likely we'll be getting new skins for the standard office and lab maps (given the overly shiny facade of Praetoria), and quite possibly new skins for the caves/Council caves as they're occupied by the Resistance.

As far as all new map types (not reskins of the existing stuff), I'm not sure... but I'd really like to see some more outdoor wooded areas that aren't the Hydra dimension, that would then hopefully propagate to the Mission Architect so I could publish some ideas that have been floating in my head for a while. Since Praetoria is largely overrun by the Devouring Earth, I think this type of map is at least possible.

I also have to say, I agree that Paragon City and the Rogue Isles should get one or two new map types as well. I'll be crossing my fingers on that with you.

As far as anything confirmed by any developers though, there is still very little information about what exactly is included in Going Rogue. Your guess is as good as anybody's, really.

I'd say it's almost certain we'll be getting some new maps. At least in Praetoria.

Whether they are just new skins with (possibly) some shuffling of the tile pieces or
"real" new mapsets, I'd have to give a 50/50 chance.

As to whether or not they will be propagated down to Paragon/Rogue Island zones...
I'm guessing probably not, but I'd say maybe a 30/70 chance (yes/no).

I'm hoping and praying that any new map types are more "open" like the outdoor portion of safeguard missions... nothing more annoying as a tank than running around and having the camera caught on part of the map messin' with my view.

Well considering Praetoria is in another dimension... The buildings all look different and have been explained to us as being built and designed that way for a reason... I'd say the odds are about 100% that we'll be getting new maps.

I'd love some new maps myself.

Of course, I have 3 characters on Tina's arc at the moment, so I'd love to get rid of the lab maps completely.

I hate the lab maps.

Let's hope they see it our way!

Yeah, I'm cautiously optimistic that we will see new map types, kind of like City of Villains brought to the game. It wouldn't make sense for them not to have them.

I'm less optimistic but still hopeful that we will see different map tilesets and layouts spread throughout the game, too. That alone would freshen things considerably.

And as always, I will ask my rhetorical "where's my Going Rogue info." Because we all know Player Questions is part actual question, part rhetorical. Heh.

Oh, I'm afraid you misunderstood the title. The Environmental Artists were hired to improve the appearance of Paragon Studios' OFFICE environment.

I think the chances are very good that we will see new maps in Going Rogue. I think the chances are very poor that we will see them ported to CoH and CoV. Maybe eventually, but probably not at release.

I find it funny that in the 5+ years they've been doing this game, there have been so very few new map set types. What are the new ones? Cimeroran catacombs, Rikti underground, (a sub-set there, actually) and Arachnos? They did do reskins for CoV, but those aren't new as much as a fresh coat of paint. They have upped the number of unique maps, which are coool, but it might be nice to have some new settings for the day-in, day-out missions. Variety is the spice of life, they say, right? ...And let's be honest, there are actual game play differences based on setting. You can play very differently in a warehouse with set halls, and clickable doors than in a winding, tight cave.

So...yeah. Not expecting more than maybe one or two very limited use new maps sets, but probably a good variety of unique maps used in a couple arcs. I'm hoping the team actually notices how much a variety of settings could actually help them. (In ALL the game, not just new arcs.)

My ballpark is that we'll get twice the new maps that we got with Cimerora.
