I mentioned this yesterday online and have already posted this in the [dead] blaster forum for advice, but here's it more show and tell.

My mission-active locked-at-25 toon is Saltier. Here she is:

Yeah, I skipped hasten and took lower damage to get the 25% global recharge. I'm finding that at 25 Rain of Fire is one of my big damage items. I'm not running Herostats, so I don't have hard evidence, but with buildup+aim+rain I can get clouds of orange fours rising up.

Like you, I would skip Ice Sword. I do find it useful about once every hour, but that's it.

I also sacrificed convenience items like SS and Recall Friend to get more in-door performance. At 25, I'm running lots of radio mishs so I have a zero-G pack, self rez, etc. Though I find it odd it wont give me a Raptor, presumably because I have a Jingle Jet. It's not like the Raptor will go bad sitting dormant. I will need to buy one as the day approaches that the Jingle Jet runs out.

I've got an AR/E blaster that'll work at 15. It's on Virtue now as I have more alts than I know what to do with. Four attacks, buildup...

Here's the build:

This looks like people who recycle because it's "good for the environment", but they also drive a Hummer. Consider your "IO footprint" on the Market. I see healing uniques, LotGs, rare procs, etc. How much are you taking out of the Market to make these builds? And how long do you need to play these characters to have a net positive influence on mid-level availability of set IOs?

Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.
I've moved on to Diablo 3, TopDoc-1304

I've already generated 2 level 30 Numina's uniques via random rolls with my two characters. People seem to be racking up upwards of 300 merits or more by level 30, which would be 15 random rolls.

It would probably take just a few weeks, maybe a month or two, to "pay back" to the market what you've taken out. I think if we sustain interest in the group for a few months we'll have accomplished our goals. ^_^

I certainly don't deny that I've spent a few hundred million on my two characters... less than a billion between the two I think. But more importantly, I would have been buying those IOs for some other character anyway. ^_^ That's how we got started on this, people complaining about trying to buy midlevel IOs and how hard they were to come by. It's not like joining Midlevel Crisis has necessarily caused me to bid on IOs that I wouldn't have otherwise bid on.

Besides, I like my virtual Hummer.

Interesting analogy, and it gave me some thought. The biggest proc on my listed build - the Numina Reg/Rec - was obtained from a merit roll, and not pulled out from the market. And of the 14 merit rolls that I did, I am keeping 3 pieces because they fit what I hope I might need. The rest will be going to market.

I have yet to even slot anything on my character except for level 35 SO's, awaiting feedback. Most of the expensive pieces I will probably have to wait until I get a lucky roll as I tend to be too cheap. So I would imagine I will be contributing more to the market to get those pieces through rolls then taking away or depriving by not selling. Will I have the nicer pieces compared to others? At some point maybe.

My goal is to get the most efficient build I can while contributing to this experiment. If you have suggestions on improving my build while helping the economical environment, I'm all ears.

Yeah, my attitude is if I'm going to limit myself to a certain level and want to run a lot of TFs and the like, I want to have an efficient build. But the real test of how much we benefit the market will be how long we keep up with this whole thing.

I'll try and post my builds tonight.

The bulk of my DM/Regen's scrapper's build is level 35+ SOs (which are actually the most optimal choice at that level) and frankenslotted attacks. I have zero healing uniques, defense procs or anything even remotely expensive.

I have generated over 200M from recipe sales alone, so I'm pretty confident in saying that my contribution to the market versus actual consumption is at an exceedingly high ratio.

We are also probably recycling among ourselves, at least initially as we set up our builds. I have no doubt we are buying and selling to each other, and some folks are sharing via the storage bins. But once everyone is happy with a level and a build, it should all be icing and contribute greatly to the market as a whole.

This is Tainted Candy's build. I tried to build for recharge as much as possible, and for recovery a bit too. I don't have any LotG +recharges in the build.

Of note: My Karma KB, Regen Tissue +regen, and my Numina unique were all rewarded to me via random merit or ticket rolls. I don't have the Performance Shifter proc yet, nor the Zephyr +KB (not even sure I need that one), nor the Miracle unique as of yet.

If they are buying the cool IO's with merits then they are not impacting the market positively or negatively. They are market-neutral. Then when they start selling, they will have a positive impact.

My build for Medieval Crisis. I rolled the Numina's unique for this build too, but otherwise I've spent significantly more on this character's build, so he's probably had a negative market impact so far.

I tried to build for melee defense, which is about 30% with this build. Not great, but eh. /shield is not really the best set for this sort of thing, but it fit my character concept. I was also concerned with endurance here, given that I'm broadsword.

I plan on selling everything I get from merits and use uncommon recipes for my Fire/WP Ape Scrapper.

Things like Crushing Impact, Multi-Strike, Serendipity etc, nothing from pool C or D.

My goal is to get 1.5 SO's Acc/3 SO's Dam/1 SO endredux in my attacks, anything else is gravy. The question is do I need 4 or 5 slots to achieve this. Stay tuned.

Mids SG toons: Flame Ape and Light Lion (Lvl 33 PB Posi specced toon with some shinies, all the slots are in the Forms)

Refreshing honesty.

I estimated it would take me a week or two of doing a Sister Psyche and Citadel every night to break even. That's a lot of playtime, and it assumes there's enough interest to do that sort of thing. Are there teams most every night doing TFs?

Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

I've run about 15 Lord of Winter rounds which can bring 8 to 10 merits each, as well as 3 freak olympics, 34 merits each, and some of my story arcs - Croatoa specifically. I mainly solo but have joined in some of the SG teaming.

There's been several people on each night. I ran two TFs with E K Nacthmuzik Sat, and we're running a Posi tonight with three of us. "Speed" Posi, lol.

It went kind of fast....2 hours 10 min I think.

We had some bad door placements, one end of Perez to the other end of Skyway once. Leaving Perez for Galaxy for one of the clear alls at the end, things like that.

Overall it went pretty smooth..

I rolled
Call of the Sandman Tri (33)
Luck of the Gambler End/Rech (33)
Aegis Tri (33)

So meh on the rolls. I'll post em on the AH soon.

The only thing of mention I got from last nights speed-posi was the level 14 Zephyr -KB. I really expected it to be more poorly supplied on the market than what it is. Only about 40m for it.

I was surprised (1) how effective throwing Phantom Army was to give me time to click a glowy and (2) how many times I'd smash the key for a grayed out power before I stopped and just spammed the only four decent attacks I had left. Man, taking deceive so late hit me.

It was a lot more normal that I expected doing a TF. I've done two ITFs with my 50, but other than that I don't recall doing any others. I mostly just do Midnighters arc and Radio mishs. Geez, I've been doing the radio mishs. Too bad I can't sell temporary powers.

Oh, and I got the Hammer temp power recipe last night. It sells for nothing, and while I'm tempted to craft it, the bat wasn't the cheapest craft and is really sad.

I hope that's a mis-print and is 40m rather than 40k. Especially since I know my low Zephyr bids aren't that stingy!

First for Tidbit. Your build would work, but its not the way I would do it. Feel free to ignore any advice you don't like.

Riches: Level 33 Mutation Controller
Primary Power Set: Fire Control
Secondary Power Set: Radiation Emission
Power Pool: Fitness
Power Pool: Speed
Power Pool: Leaping
Power Pool: Concealment

Hero Profile:
Level 1: Char -- Dmg-I(A), Lock-Acc/Hold(3), Lock-Acc/EndRdx/Rchg/Hold(7), Lock-EndRdx/Rchg/Hold(25)
would put anouther slot in here

Level 1: Radiant Aura -- Dct'dW-Heal/EndRdx(A), Dct'dW-EndRdx/Rchg(3), Dct'dW-Heal/Rchg(9), Dct'dW-Heal/EndRdx/Rchg(23), Dct'dW-Heal(29), Dct'dW-Rchg(29)
Over slotted, would only go with 4 slots here

Level 2: Fire Cages -- Posi-Acc/Dmg(A), Posi-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(5), Posi-Dmg/EndRdx(9)
add a slot here

Level 4: Accelerate Metabolism -- Efficacy-EndMod/Rchg(A), Efficacy-EndMod(5), Efficacy-EndMod/Acc/Rchg(11), RechRdx-I(11), P'Shift-EndMod/Rchg(15)
overslotted, 3 slots is fine here

Level 6: Radiation Infection -- DampS-ToHitDeb(A), DampS-ToHitDeb/EndRdx(7), DarkWD-ToHitDeb/EndRdx(13)
took too early, start working on travel power

Level 8: Swift -- Run-I(A)

Level 10: Enervating Field -- EndRdx-I(A)
took too early, would add a second end red in here, when you are using this you are fighting GM or AV and will need to run it for a while

Level 12: Flashfire -- Posi-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(A), Posi-Dmg/Rchg(13), Rope-EndRdx/Stun(15), Rope-Acc/Rchg(25), Rope-Acc/Stun/Rchg(27)

Level 14: Health -- Numna-Regen/Rcvry+(A), Numna-Heal(17)
only reason to take health on squishy is for +rec IOs. replace heal with Miracle +rec or drop to just one slot

Level 16: Hasten -- RechRdx-I(A), RechRdx-I(17)
if you are not taking SS, do not need this, if you do flurry is better (solo damage to help finish off bosses, and can slot sets in it)

Level 18: Cinders -- Lock-Acc/Hold(A), Lock-Rchg/Hold(19), Lock-Acc/EndRdx/Rchg/Hold(19), G'Wdw-Acc/Hold/Rchg(21), G'Wdw-Acc/Rchg(27)
I never take group hold in fire, I would dump this

Level 20: Stamina -- EndMod-I(A), EndMod-I(21)

Level 22: Lingering Radiation -- TmpRdns-EndRdx/Rchg/Slow(A), P'ngTtl-EndRdx/Rchg/Slow(23), Acc-I(31)

Level 24: Combat Jumping -- Krma-ResKB(A)
would move this to an earlier slot so you dont spend your teens bouncing on your ***

Level 26: Bonfire -- RechRdx-I(A)
Bonfire is a nice but very situational power, would take smoke instead

Level 28: Stealth -- LkGmblr-Rchg+(A)
Dump stealth, take SS as your travel power, add a stealth IO and you have invisibility

Level 30: Hot Feet -- Sciroc-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(A), M'Strk-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(31), Sciroc-Dmg/EndRdx(31)
Need more slots in hot feet, and you need to take it at lv 8

Level 32: Fire Imps -- SvgnRt-Acc/Dmg(A), SvgnRt-Acc(33), BldM'dt-Acc/Dmg(33), BldM'dt-Dmg(33)

For Organica. Same disclaimer as for Tidbit.

Tainted Candy: Level 34 Magic Controller
Primary Power Set: Fire Control
Secondary Power Set: Radiation Emission

Power Pool: Concealment

Hero Profile:
Level 1: Char -- BasGaze-Acc/Hold(A), BasGaze-Acc/Rchg(3), BasGaze-Rchg/Hold(3), BasGaze-EndRdx/Rchg/Hold(5)
Level 1: Radiant Aura -- Mrcl-Heal(A), Mrcl-Heal/EndRdx(5), Mrcl-Heal/Rchg(7), Mrcl-Heal/EndRdx/Rchg(7)
Level 2: Fire Cages -- Enf'dOp-Immob/Rng(A), Enf'dOp-EndRdx/Immob(9), Enf'dOp-Acc/Immob/Rchg(21), Enf'dOp-Acc/EndRdx(23), Enf'dOp-Acc/Rchg(23)

Level 4: Radiation Infection -- LdyGrey-DefDeb/Rchg/EndRdx(A), LdyGrey-DefDeb/Rchg(9),
LdyGrey-DefDeb/EndRdx(11), LdyGrey-Rchg/EndRdx(11)
should take AM at this level instead

Level 6: Hasten -- RechRdx-I(A), RechRdx-I(13)
would take flurry instead, damage and place to slot sets

Level 8: Hot Feet -- Oblit-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx/Rchg(A), Oblit-Acc/Rchg(13), Oblit-Dmg/Rchg(15), Oblit-Acc/Dmg/Rchg(15), Oblit-Dmg(17)

Level 14: Super Speed -- Zephyr-ResKB(A)
add a slot to this (grab from heal) and put stealth proc in it for invis

Level 16: Health -- Numna-Regen/Rcvry+(A), RgnTis-Regen+(25), Mrcl-Rcvry+(25)
on squishies, health does not make enough of a difference, even with IOs, to matter, dump the +reg IO

Level 18: Accelerate Metabolism -- EnManip-EndMod(A), EnManip-EndMod/Rchg(27)
at least 3 slot this with recharges

Level 20: Stamina -- P'Shift-End%(A), P'Shift-EndMod(27), EndMod-I(29)
Level 22: Enervating Field -- EndRdx-I(A)
will want a second end red in here

Level 24: Stealth -- Krma-ResKB(A)
can be replaced with stealth proc in SS

Level 26: Bonfire -- Posi-Acc/Dmg/EndRdx(A), Posi-Acc/Dmg(34)
situational, would take smoke instead

Level 28: Lingering Radiation -- TmpRdns-Rng/Slow(A), TmpRdns-EndRdx/Rchg/Slow(29)
Level 30: Cinders -- BasGaze-EndRdx/Rchg/Hold(A), BasGaze-Rchg/Hold(31), BasGaze-Acc/Rchg(31), BasGaze-Acc/Hold(31)
never bother to take group holds on most controllers, they were over nerfed in my opinion

Level 32: Fire Imps -- ExRmnt-EndRdx/Dmg/Rchg(A), ExRmnt-Acc/Dmg/Rchg(33), ExRmnt-Acc/Dmg(33), ExRmnt-Dmg/EndRdx(33)
all your imps need are acc and damage

Here's a secondary build for Tainted Candy (actual level 33). I call this my "Positron Stealth" build. This is specifically designed for running Positron, so the important parts of the build are what powers I pick to level 20, and what enhancements I slot for those powers, using level 18 or less IO sets.

Most of this was very cheap to do but some of the pieces I'm still trying to buy. There aren't a lot of set IOs for sale below level 20.

I wanted to have super speed and stealth, which allows me to stealth missions that allow that. Recall Friend so that I can get the rest of the team to me. Stamina by level 20, that was vitally important. I didn't include any debuffs because those are most useful versus big enemies like AVs, and there aren't any on a Posi.

I wanted as much recharge as I could muster at these levels, so I have Hasten and I believe I'll have... about 18% global recharge from set bonuses (from those powers I have access to at level 15.)

Pretty much anything else I get along with that is gravy in my opinion. ^_^
