A clock.

You can use /localtime to get a direct dump of your Windows clock, though you have to call it specifically and it dumps in the System channel. You COULD bind it to a button, though.

Also:
*Hit the Start(windows) button.
*Small stick-on clocks are cheap, attach to edge of monitor.
*Cheap clock next to monitor.
*Wristwatch.

I have a wrist watch with a broken chain that I grew out of the habit of wearing now that I have a cell phone, and I use that to sit under my screen. Very handy.

As an optional window element, I wouldn't mind this suggestion. It seems easy enough to actually do as the game already has the capability as a slash command.

I play in windowed mode on Ubuntu Linux. I can always see the time (and access other programs with ease).

Alt+Tab takes you back to your desktop screen

It also makes the game screen come back after time is known.

But the fun way is to have self-destruct on auto.

"I've blown up 3 times so far, oh crap I've been playing for 3 hours and I gotta start dinner!!!"

I'd honestly just like a tiny timer. I don't always want my program to lag up because I chose to press the Start key.

As for a wristwatch? Water damage took that out of commission.

I know it's a lazy thing to ask for, but why can't we just get a teeny, tiny little display right on our map time? No bigger than the one used for WoW.

I play in windowed mode, too. But I still wouldn't object to the suggestion.

Or play through a Dr. Quarterfield TF start to finish, and you'll know no matter what you're late for something...

The clock is a simple enough idea. I just refer to the alarm clock in my peripheral vision for the time, but an in-game clock would make things slightly more convenient. Same rules apply to CoX as they do on the road... never take your eyes off!

I like this idea a lot.
I really want a clock that tells me what time it is in the USA. Because honestly I have no idea (I am on the other side of the planet).

Trying to figure out US time is a pain in the *** for me, and usually I give up and just ask other players "what time is it there now?".

I'd really like a simple /slash command in game, which could toggle on to show the time (in small text like the FPS) somewhere in the corner of the screen.
That way, when my friends have told me to meet them at 2pm US time, to continue a TF or be part of a new one, or a hami raid, or the ship raid, or the winter event, or badge hunt, etc; then I'd have a clue what time it is and this, I would love.

*edit* fyi, currently I use an addon in firefox that tells me the time in the USA. However that requires me alt-tabbing out of game and waiting for my browser to open and then close it again (not a big deal but its annoying for me, seeings I am not using the browser for ANYTHING else other than checking time.) I do not browse whilst playing, cos you know, I'm busy playing & helping my team (and not leeching/afk).

I know the game already keeps the time, because you can run up and click npc's and sometimes they will say what time it is. However a clock would be a lot easier and simpler than that

Yes! People in my house are always asking me what time it is but i can't minimize the window because i'm in the middle of something. I'm no programmer but it can't be that hard to do.

/servertime will give you the time for the server you're on (some US servers are on the west coast, some are on the east coast)

In the meantime, I use something like this, jammed right under my monitor.:
If you're not in the the U.S. and want to coordinate with US players, just set it to GMT+whatever and put a sticky note on it to remind you of what time zone it's on.
Just a cheap one.

I have one of these:

Usually with some kind of clock running, and I still wouldn't mind an in-game clock display.

While I don't have a personal need for this, I find it a reasonable request.

I approve.

Sweet!
I'm running under a smaller budget.

Anyway.......while I don't have a need for what the OP is requesting, I still wouldn't mind having the option made available for those who want it.
My suggestions were merely intended to provide easy/quick/cheap solutions in the meantime.

Actually, I bought that on sale 3 years ago (shortly before they stopped making that version) for around 1/2 of the suggested retail price. I've not been upset with the purchase. While the new version has a color LCD, it is also missing 6 keys.

More options are always good.

I use a wristwatch that is lying on my desk to tell me the time. A clock ingame would be useful to me as well.

I just had a very random whacky fun thought about this thread.
I was just checking my subscribed threads and got this silly idea about the clock, so figured why not.

Aside from a simple clock being added (which I'm all for, something you can do from a /slash command).

Anyhow, that aside.
The idea is something additional to that.

It would be fun having it tied to a future vet badge.
You click the vet power.
A friendly clockwork appears, it runs across your screen, urgently yelling out what time it is, then runs off to the nearest doorway.
Kind of like that rabbit out of Alice in wonderland, except its a clockwork minion telling you the time as it frantically scuttles across your screen.

All the newer players will be "WTF was that?".

Muah hahahaha. Well I'd like it. But then I'm weird like that.
