What WILL we be hoping for?

I fail to see why animated hair even freakin matters. I have animated hair in other games, and wish they would have not bothered...
Same with weather... Its cool for 5 minutes. After that - who cares -

This game is awesome... Needs more stuff to do before we start worrying about pigtails bobbin up and down...

I agree about needing more content.

About the rest of it ... yes, people tend to get used to things once they have them, like better graphics. However, once you have had the improvement it is often painful to go back to not having it, so there may still be a value to things like costume items with physics, even after you've become used to them.

I think that if the devs were to introduce weather effects, then on at least some occasions, in some ways, it should affect gameplay. Presently we have relatively little effect from day / night, so it's not that important to us. But if, for example, street mobs only came out at night on blueside ... we'd tend to pay more attention to the day / night dynamic.

In fact, if they ever did bring villains to Paragon in some way, you could have the street mobs change from Longbow, PPD, and other security forces during the day to villainous street mobs at night.

- Merge Markets

- LOTS of new maps/tilesets that are also used for old content

- Re-do all old blueside content like:
-- Allow us to call contacts after 1st/2nd mission not after 2-3 story arcs
-- Remove (or give us an option) to skip silly 'talk to' missions
-- Move all (or most) of the contact's missions to the zone where the contact is at (except for things like talks/fedex) (or at least within the next zone)...get tired of going from PI to AP to FF to IP to Bricks to Crey's...etc...

- More free character slots per server (or the ability to move the free slots from one server to another)

- More base updates/pieces
-- Allow a trainer, difficulty npc, WW/BM NPC in the base

- More free costume pieces

- Cathedral of Pain trial back up and working (ie. also have base raids work well/have a reason to raid)

- More redside SFs to fill in the gaps

- More maps/tilesets

- Merge markets

- More powersets

- Some sort of mail system that you can send yourself salvage/recipes/enhancements so that you don't have to bother anyone else

- The ability to promote/demote within an SG while the person is offline

- The ability to invite someone to an SG when that person is offline

- Have SG rosters be made up of globals instead of character toons...so that would mean if I made a new SG with my @Energizing Ion and I made a new char. it would know that this new toon is in the same SG (I could quit the SG if I wanted to of course)

- A better search window/function/more options for it (like a "team is looking for more people" type of flag, etc...)

Oh and did I mention merge the markets and lots of new maps/tilesets that are used (or at least have the ability for it) throughout the whole game yet?

Let's see what this year brings...

The last year has been mostly focused on systems for the game (creating AE, allowing us to customize more), so my biggest three come from the type of things that haven't been focused on so much:

1. New content (as in story arcs and task forces, but especially more of the former. I love the Midnighter arcs and enjoy story arcs, and want to see more additions for both sides).

2. More variety for missions. This includes new tilesets and layouts, as well as maybe more objectives/differences between missions.

3. More powersets (and to a similar extent, more slots somehow for GR... I'm out of room on my home server and have no wish to move).

I'll always want more of these, but I'm especially feeling the lack of all three after the past year, though we did get some powersets, I know. If anything, the newer story arcs and Architect truly revealed the need for greater variety to missions: both in looks and possible objectives.

Story Arc:

I think we'll get some new tilesets for sure - if we got them for the RWZ revamp, then there should be some in an actual paid expansion too.

I think there'll be some new mission types - or maybe variations on what we have right now - it's kinda hard to see what totally new types they could come up with - the current ones cover the usual superhero scenarios pretty well

Just a couple of wishes from me on my first forum post

I'd like to see an improvement made to characters' hair. I'm thinking along the lines of alpha transparency maps rather than physics related models. Alpha transparency and texture maps maps make character hair look much more realistic. The solid plastic look would be gone for good. For me, depending on the model, the hair is often the weakest part of the character design (assuming that they have hair, .)

Secondly, I'd like to see the inclusion of more cape types. Some slightly larger, more grandiose styles would be good and the option to have the full range of chest emblems applied to the back of them would be really cool.

More non-human skeletons for NPCs.

I'd like to see guard dogs (or robotic guard dogs if people are going to object to ice-blasting Fido) or great cats or a GM in the form of a giant snake or turtle or something. The only real giant "monster" threatening Paragon City is Lusca. I'd like to see a massive mutated earthworm rising from the ground or an irradiated praying mantis or something unique like that.

well joph, no surprise here, but i wouldn't mind a giant dinosaur or dragon somewhere. And before anyone starts the city of Warcraft nonsense, i have to point out 3 words, fin fang foom. and one more word, frikkin godzilla! i understand the work required to make a new skeleton is not trivial, but As i have gone on about several hundred times now, i feel that it is a common component of comic mythos to have a real lost world type are(or just redo monster island to have kaiju-style monsters, not rejected ents)

as for the hair thing, i can understand golden's desire to have it, but since it is animated, it will either make the game run slower on base spec machines, or it will get rid of capes/wings/any animated bit. something i have accepted with moving tails, that if i get them, my dragon wings likely go bye-bye.

well, that is the funny thing, when your request is basically "more" then no matter what, there always is more you can have. So even if they, and this would be unrealistic, redid 2 unused zones and a portion of the old blueside content, they simply wouldn not have the manpower to redo the entire game, and you can always ask for "more". and lets not forget that since rediside doesn't have unused zones right now, they would be being proportionally screwed again. Heck, jay could toss me 70 costume bits and animated tails, and babs could give me all the martial arts animations that i have asked for and i'd still want more, that is just the nature of "more". but some would definitely be nice.

The dinosaur in a "Lost World" setting in the South American jungle, and the dragon in a medieval time travel zone similar to Cimerora?

Oroborous seems to forget that time travel goes both ways.....how about a zone in a future where the world wasn't destroyed? (Say like the year 3153 or something.)

/this, both of these. Yes, I *do* want more villain zones. Some other scenery other than "Fortified trash dump," with backstory to build content from.

Honestly, when GR goes live, I don't see myself ever seeing Mercy, Oakes, etc. again. Barring having to for, say, Coralax.

Ouroboros doesn't forget - Mender Silos just choses to restrict what times we can go to

i wouldn't go medevial, that would likely get a negative reaction from the players who dont like fantasy stuff. but the romans did have dragons in their mythos, or maybe a Japanese zone with a angered river dragon...cant say that i'd have an issue with one of those that or lost world one of the rogue islands as a red-zone, and heave heroes do some infiltrations mishes, like a reverse shadow shard.

I'd prefer medieval - it'd be cool to see a fantasy style zone, but without elves or dwarfs

I am ok with medieval as well...just not to WoW-ish...

I do agree that Villains need some more strike forces...

I would like to see The Coming Storm actually show up...

I would love to see Oroborus evolve into allowing you to go back into time to major events that have happened in the past of Paragon City...maybe a taskforce/strikeforce (oro style) where you back to help/hinder Atlas on December 7th, 1941...but have a variety of different ones..

I would love to see your actions on the city impact you...such as you seem to do alot of missions fighting Skulls...so randomly through those missions you encounter your skull arch nemesis...would give a little more weight to the missions and if it is random then you have no idea when he would attack...

I used ot not like the idea of an apartment/hideout that is unique to your character but the idea has grown on me...maybe it could have an influence bank that your other characters have access to...enhancement...salvage and recipe storage...for people such as myself that tend to solo alot it would help alot...this way you could even bank your hallowe'en salvage for your alts...

You can focus on it and try to force it but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient and hold still...maybe...just maybe...it will come to you. Castle et al. have said that they'd love to do more stuff like Oil Slick, but the problem is that they still haven't quite figured out the 'failure to light' bug yet. I believe Castle stated that if they ever did figure it out, they'd start trying to put more stuff like Oil Slick in the game.
By "interactive" I believe at the time I was thinking...actually, I'm not sure what I was thinking :P . I dunno, I definately see how it could eat a TON of memory and is a totally unrealistic proposition, but I can spend hours in a game just breaking things. AH. It just came to me, I believe the words I was looking for were" destructible envoirenment". I know, not gonna happen, but it would be cool

It is somewhat but I can't store the recipes or influence...I know you can store recipes in the Market and do transfers through there but I just wish we could bank it account wide with each side separate...

I had a one man sg and found it did not suit my needs...

As well some established sgs do not allow all members to have access to editing the base...so some people are missing out on that aspect...yes they could make their own sg but as I stated previously it is solution for me...now wmaybe others find it suits their needs perfectly fine...but I see no issue with each character having their own little space outside of the sg/vg base...

I mean in the Justice League cartoon...Batman did have the Batcave but also had the Watchtower as well...

I'd be happy just to draw upon the movies and comics of the 1950s and 1960s. Giant insects or spiders or crabs/lobsters, mutant animals, etc. Although a pterodactyl GM hanging around the volcano crater in Striga would be flat-out awesome

Probably bother the Council though...

I think medieval would force them to give us long dresses - they just about got away with avoiding them for Cimerora - but a medieval one would totally requie them

And we'd also need some of those wacky but quite stylish tall pointy hats with the bits of silk hanging from the tip - which could also be a good test to see how the servers would handle a lot of players with moving stuff on their heads
