Grey names in search?

When you use the /search function and see greyed out names on the list, does this always mean they're already on a team?

Yes, seems like it should be what it should be defaulted to NOT show.
Or at least, when the /search finds that it must drop names off to truncate, drop teamed folks off first, especially non-leaders.

Ideally I'd like to see leaders notated somehow (a star would do), along with a note about how many people are on the team they're on. That way we could cut down on mass-tells to whole teams that are already full asking if there's room. And it would just be easier if someone was on a team of 3, and you had a team of 3, if you could easily tell that and just be able to ask them if you want to merge. Plus the GW-style team merge capability wouldn't hurt either...

This. I'd love a way to find incomplete teams via their leaders and a way to merge teams. GW was great for that.

Yes and no.

No, because a solo character in a mission is considered to be on a team of "one".

The grayed names could be more beneficial if they also indicated team leader status (which others have posted), the current level of that character (aka the current SSK'd mission level), and team size (which could include looking for more, not looking for more, and full status).
These things could help in trying to join a team that is already active. I don't make a habit of doing this, but I have sent a tell to a grayed out name asking if they had any more room on their team.

I really want the Add Note stars to show up in the team search window.

A solo character is blue in the search menu, even if they are in a mission. I just checked.

It's possible that they get greyed out if they're in TF mode, like from a flashback or a AE arc, but in regular missions, they don't grey out.

Did you check by going into a mission searching for yourself? Because SG bases like to show up as missions some times.

That's exactly what I did.

I'm hoping that they use Going Rogue as an opportunity to completely revamp the Search window. As nice as your suggestions are, they'd lead to unsolicited tells to team leaders. So instead, I'd like to see the ability for a team lead to set a "Team Looking for More" flag, and then unteamed players could do a search on teams looking for more just like we can do a search on individuals now.

Not if we can also clearly see that the team already has 8 people in it.

Though you're right that a "looking for more" flag would be useful too. But also have some "not looking for more" flags and things.

GR will make this way more complex too - like Hero teams can have Vigilantes on them, but a lot of Vigilantes could be in Villain zones when you do a search

I bet, these flags will be ignored half of the times, as were ignored the zones pre i16. When levels 10-20 were asking "Can I join your team?" even if that player was in RWZ or Cim

Yeah. SOME upgrade to the system is going to have to be done.

If I'm a hero, and I want to invite a rogue, can I see them in the search?
If that rogue is in Cap, can I still see them?
Can I invite someone in Cap if I'm in Atlas?
If I'm a hero, do I see pure villains or only rogues/vigilantes?
How can I tell which version of Ouroboros they're in?
Will villain zones be added to hero searches and vice versa?

Lots of unanswered questions so far. vv
