Is it an issue worth merging servers over when each of the servers has different playstyles and desires, and they have options, rather than be forced to play on a server with more people on it than they'd like? When I want to play with lots of folks, I play on Champion. When I don't care, I go play on Triumph or Protector. Why can't more people do this? Do you need a super-cool SG base that serves little purpose (nothing stopping anyone from creating a similar base on more than one server, or at least make functional ones and have a main decorative base on one server)?
We don't need 4 servers of Freedom's size (or bigger. If servers merged, every one of them would probably have some kind of queue to prevent major lag for everyone.) If people wanted that, they'd be playing on Freedom already.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

I'd just be happy with a server not tied to test. Anyone who has been adopted by champ over the last X many years has seen their server go down a few times short of a heavy populated server such as Freedom.
As for the servers... I'd rather not have 3-4 servers, but something less than 11 servers with a staff that can respond quicker to game altering needs.

I at first was screaming conspiracy when the server shut down. After much though, careful debate, and several curse words later I realised that the Devs wouldnt be THAT dumb....Maybe monitoring population migration trends...but no notice no warning "Sorry we got ur toonz heldz hoztij!" No way....Champ is imo, still way too populated to get the Axe. Each server has a purpose I would like to see some of the smaller less populated servers maybe merge....maybe 5-8 servers....but don't take away home! *cries*

Champion and Protector look to be down from my connection. Probably something in the patching broke them badly.
I would doubt that any server shenanigans are going on when they have just launched the Winter Event.
With modern tech nowadays, a bunch of the lower population servers could be virtualized anyhow on the same physical hardware, so the cost of maintaining a low population 'server' is a lot less now.
Just a bit of commiseration from a Justicite. I remember i3-i5 when Justice used to be the one which faceplanted lots.

According to what was said, the main conflict in server merges was going to be "names" conflict.
This is what were assuming right now, Their giving out the free transfers and name changes, for now, seeing how thing shake out, and where people will end up, and have minimal problems to deal with later.
It was suggested that in the end if name conflicts occur, the character that had the name first, (was created first) will keep the name and the other would be given a free name change token.
The way is was described was, (and No server names were used) The busiest server woul merge with the least busy, the 2nd busiest would merge with 2nd least so on and so on.
According to recent activity, champions been running 3rd-4th busiest, so it looks like possible merge with pinnacle or protector if this really happens.
Again, everything that was talked about with them was just a big "MAYBE"
