Heh. Lesbian hellions, anyone?

My advice if you are seriously considering RP on Virtue, is to find a VG or SG that either has a casual or a more liberal approach to RP. (I'd like to disuade you from joining the "hardcore" RP groups as they tend to engage in ERP more so than the casual RPers and they tend to become wrapped up in all sorts of RP political drama among their rank and file.) and avoid Pocket D RP as much as possible...
I do roleplay. I've been in several RP SGs before, and I'm in a private global dedicated to RP and good teaming. But, I'm not in any SGs right now because I don't really have the time to dedicate to one. My questions stem from curiosity over a place I haven't really visited, but found not terribly bad. Just boring and a bit juvenile. As it happens, it seems my impressions were right.

Hardcore RP = "We keep RP'in' when the others cut to commercial!"

Actually Tokyo has a point. A lot of groups do get hung up on either IC or OOC drama, and the more involved the storyline, the worse it CAN get if the members aren't all trying hard to keep things civil. And yes, depending on the focus of the group, they can get pretty ... intimate... or at least, such behavior isn't frowned upon.

My only issue is the drama, as it tends to bleed into OOC and then you've less friends to play the game with. I don't have a problem with Mature RP bordering on the ERP per se, but I would much prefer to have lots of roleplay with the occasional E component, rather than the other way around (where it's all cyber with only the barest nod made to storyline or character development).

I'd like to get back for a minute, to the original topic of why xfr to a server. Virtue, I know, has good Hami raids, for both blue and red side. Are there other servers that do frequent raids? I remember Justice doing them, but they seemingly don't do them as frequently as they used to, I may be wrong on that. Infinity is where 2/3 of my play time is spent and raiding is dead there.

So, how about other servers?

Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)

Can't speak to other servers, but Virtue also does Ship Raids once or twice a week as well.

Champion has a blue side Hamidon raid every Sunday evening, and I lead at least one Rikti mothership raid on Champion every Thursday evening. I'm leading two tonight.

Virtue tends to have the best raiding parties of any server and I have a feeling that is due in large part to the close knit community Virtue has fostered over the years.

3 blueside hami-raids a week. 2 redside Hami-raids a week, 2 Mothership raids a week. Competent raid-leaders... I honestly can't find a reason to move to any other Server, aside from Freedom for PvP.

Is ERP more or less questionable when Ventrillo is involved?

Tell ya what. Let's take advantage of the free transfers and play server tag. Here's how it works - you announce any character transfers you're planning, and I vacate that server as fast as possible. It's a mutually beneficial situation because we both have one less idiot to put up with.
I almost spit my coffee at the computer screen. That was hilarious!

I don't use Ventrillo or share personal photos due to past issues with online admirers (A.K.A. stalkers)

So, couldn't really tell you.

I think at that point it's just referred to as phone sex.

I have never seen ERP in all my time on Virtue.

I know it's there. I've just never seen it. Probably because most people have the sense not to do it in public.

(I get this strange mental image of a couple clearing a newspaper mission, and then all of the sudden the male gets all /em pushup over the female...)

Also, I love hanging out in the Virtue Pocket D. Not to roleplay, but to watch other people roleplay. I have gotten into some interesting (and actually good!) RP that way. But then there was that time my Rikti Dom almost lost 1d100 SAN from that Eldrich Horror that was floating around...

i'll add a couple words to that Celestial lord:

ex-home server of Skippy (also known as Lord Stryker)

btw Mylia, the guide is simply to explain to newcomers how to handle the amount of drama so they don't get lost.

Only if they're in their secret underground lairs whenever I'm there.

If you want to see catgirls in the light of day, you want Guardian.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

Liberty does this pretty regularly. I think there's a raid every week (often led by the boards' own Steele Magnolia), but I'm not absolutely certain. There seem to be a lot unscheduled ship raids as well.
