Hello one and all,
I’d like to take the time to invite everyone to part take in a Hamidon Raid. On a special night, New Year’s Eve 2009 (12-31-09), I plan to be leading anyone who shows against the Hamidon in The Hive on Blue Side. I look to lead this event twice on the Eve of the New Year, the first at 7PM Eastern time (4PM Pacific) and the second, should there be sufficient interest, at 11PM Eastern (8PM Pacific).

I invite anyone who can attend, please, take a moment to post the preferred time and archetype of your attendance.
Let’s make this a New Year’s Eve to remember!

Don't get me wrong. I'm excited to see someone else willing to step up to lead a raid. But have you led raids before? Because this isn't something you'd want to dive into head first.

If somebody you're arguing with goes off the deep end, don't follow.

Well, I've teamed with him a couple times on various characters. I'll vouch this much for him, he knows how to play his characters well.

I think all he'd need is a good template of what to do in a properly run Hami Raid and should be able to take it from there.

I'm ecstatic to see more Hamidon raids being called for, but I'll be out of state for New Years.

Best of luck, though.

Hmm...I might be back from Kenya by then.

Hami raid while jetlagged? Sounds like fun to me! Call me a tentative yes.

Drake does a good job of leading the Rikti Mothership raids. While Hamidon is a step up from that, I'm confident that he's up to the task.

You can pencil me in I should be back from WI by then and ready to raid. I can lead a Scrapper or Assault Team. I have a Stone Tank I would be willing to run with the Tank Team just to look at the raid from that team.

I love you guys as much as strangers can love on the Internet, but there's no way I'm going to do New Year's Eve in Paragon City.

Thanks to everyone who will be joining us this Thursday!
For those that don't, I completely understand (and can hardly blame you).

Thank everyone.

Hoping I can make thefirst run. Shouldn't have anyproblems making the second run.

I forgot to mention this earlier - the start time for the first raid is 4pm Pacific and typically a time West Coasters are still at work.

I'll be at work and won't make the first raid. If I'm around at the time of the second, I may pop in and see how things are going.

Good luck!

I want to personally thank everyone who took part in the attempt of Raiding Hamidon this evening. Unfortunately, many things went wrong - I myself am not without fault. Sadly the mistakes of the first raid have doomed the second. The Hamidon spawned very quickly after only a hand full of Devouring Earth GMs were defeated and thusly, very very few EoEs could be obtained.

Again, I thank everyone who came to participate and I do fully intended to at least take part in Hamidon Raids and perhaps lead them more often as well.

Sorry I missed it. My plans for dealing with jet lag went over about as well as a helicoptor without a functioning rotor.

Drake, thanks for trying this.

I think that what was missing was strategy and team makeup, of the teams I ended up on, most were squishy, so I didnt really know what the tanks or scrappers were up to.

If anyone can spare a 50, (with free server transfers--transfer back if you want) I invite you to Virtue hami raid, at 6 pm EST Saturday heroside (3 pm PST)

The hami raids there are smooth and with a little adaptation the strategies can be transferred here. They do evacless raids, not really well suited to learning raiders. There is also a guide to hamidon raids on the virtue forums detailing evacuating raids.

Anyhow, I will be there as Princess Lee, scrapper team leader maybe if Neko doesnt grab me!

Come for a hami visit!

Protector was one of the first servers to complete the new hami raid, and Woeful Knight, Kidengineer and several others have lead many successful raids both red and blue side since then.

EDIT: Elric is correct. We were one of the first to complete it blue side, the first to complete it red side, and, therefor, the first to have completed it both red and blue.

I am very sorry that last nights raid didn't go well. The fault, if there is one, does not lie in the skills or abilities of Protector's players.

I'm with Sooner (well we were the first to down the red side hami but the first server to down both sides hero/vill), also I've heard about your raids, they aren't as smooth as everyone claims them to be. Do they get done? Yes, but they don't seem to live up to all the hype you all give it. Thanks for showing up though.

As someone else from Virtue id like to say Ive been to other Hami raids and they do it pretty much like we do. Theres no reason for them to server transfer and observe ours. Id chalk up the failure to the holiday and not to the players.

I'm insulted.

I should take a break from Aion and get Saraya out for a few Hero raids and Tori Khaine out for a few V-side raids again on Virtue...You know you miss them, Lee.
I haven't poked fun at Woeful's team names in a while either....hmmm

I feel that a general lack of regularity with Hamidon Raids on Protector is likely the largest contributing factor to the failure of last night's Hamidon Raid. (This is not a knock at the normal Hamidon Raid Leaders it is simply something that may contribute.) Rush the Rikti works like a well oiled machine because we do it every week and some times twice in a single night. A few months ago (I want to say August) we completed four Rikti Raids in a single night due to having two Rikti War Zones going at the same time. I know RWZ2 had two successful campaigns and I was informed of similar for the primary RWZ. If Rush the Rikti was not done as often as it was I feel that the second zone would have had only a team or two and lack the people necessary to complete the task.

I will certainly be joining any Hamidon Raids that come up to better learn the ins and outs of Hamidon Raiding.

I disagree.

I have been present at most of the hami raids on Protector. I can tell you that with experienced raid leaders and experienced team leaders, we can effectively and efficiently - and do so while having fun - complete a hami raid in a reasonable amount of time.
