    RUSH the RIKTI!!

    Oh. My. God.

We started at the normally scheduled time of 9PM eastern and we just stopped after nearly four hours of continuous raiding, when one ended we took a short break and started again for a total of five runs.

I have said it many times and I will continue to say it.

You, the players, who come out to take part in the raids every week are what make it possible!

I tip my hat to all of you who have come out to take part in this raid and Rushed the Rikti over the years.

We still have one more week left for the scheduled raid and I would love to see everyone out there. I may not be able to do another four hours but we can go out with a bang at the very least.

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

Next week (11-21) I plan to Rush the Rikti until we can Rush no more (or as Hyper put it RtR-Your-***-off).

Bring those characters that need that last little bit of XP before the game closes, the ones that are 50 but don't have the badges yet. Whatever it is, come one come all. We will rush until there are not enough people to rush any more!

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

I truly wish that I had caught that or that it had been brought to my attention, I could have fixed it rather easily. The peer pressure to have the star handed off, which I do recall reading, was very unnecessary.

If it does happen again please feel free to bring it up, you might need to PM it to me because you're 100% right I do have a bit of a juggling act going during the raid itself.

On a separate note: This week I will be leveraging the League system a little bit more fully by moving people to the full complement of six teams. This might mean that some teams get split but it is only temporary so that we can plant bombs on all six of the primary grates and will hopefully get more time on the ship.
Please make arrangements to be there on time if not a few minutes early so that can be accomplished. Late comers are still welcome but know you might get shuffled to a different team than your friends while we plant the bombs.

Thanks all! You are still what makes every raid possible.
  7. It has been done with as few as 6 though that was on a different server if I recall correctly. I'd say a single, well chosen team, is sufficient. Maybe 12 to cover the mitos more effectively (have one scrapper probably is not enough).

Odds are that the real task would be to get Hami to spawn - that requires taking on the Giant Monster DEs in there and killing a random number of them. (Has been as few as five DE other times has taken as long as 45 minutes or so.)

    Guild Wars 2

I will admit I pre-ordered the game MONTHS ago (around the time it was first available to Pre-Order) so that I could play the game with a group of real life friends (some from over ten years ago). I will agree, the game looks good, there's lots to do and see and it is effectively nothing like City of Heroes.

But to me it is 100% hack and slash, the same keys over and over and over with just some mild character movement required and lots of dodging (I HATE PLAYER CONTROLLED DODGE).

Don't get me wrong it has its merits but I just don't feel the need to play it continuously.
  9. Hi all,

I have played a few games recently, Star Wars The Old Republic and The Secret World in particular. Both have their own merits and greatly depend on your play style.

The Secret World is very openly based, you get to an area that might have something going on at the time or there could just be a mission giver. I will say this: It is not a direction based game, it is more of a bread crumb style. Some times you'll get very clear instructions other times you'll get nearly no instruction. Also, there is literally zero classes, kind of like champions you can pick powers, though with Secret World you can only have two weapons equipped at a time there is a quick change to two alternative weapons, the idea is limitless possibilities. And you can literally pick any power from any weapon, you just have to equip the weapon to use it. (there are tiers to keep people from going right for that final power) [Will update this section with server and Character name]

Star Wars The Old Republic is a little more story focused, lots of choice and interaction with groups. However: This game is very solo intensive, unlike City of Heroes you find an area and there might be one other person there doing a different mission or that is way ahead of you on the same mission. It is also has a bit of a glass ceiling where if you miss one mission along the way you'll be too low level to complete your current mission without help or back tracking to complete that last bit of level you need. Of note, there is currently a trial program where you can play all the way to level 15 without purchasing the game, if I recall correctly.
Main server: The Harbinger, Main character: Kalvitorvook

Both have announce free to play by years end (though some may call that a bad thing).

On the Cryptic side of things, they are currently in development of Dungeons and Dragons Neverwinter (might just be called Neverwinter) slated for release next year.

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

    Hi all!

I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone and anyone who has ever come to a Rush The Rikti (Mother Ship Raid) event.

I also wanted to inform everyone that I will continue to conduct this even every Wednesday at 9PM eastern until the game's official close, should that be November 30th or some where down the line until real life requirements take me away forcibly.

Additionally, I wanted to let everyone know that I have a twitter account and I can be followed @DrakeCrator or at X207Blitz via X-Fire.
  11. I may not have been playing from day one but I will be at every event for this thing from start to finish!

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

Rush the Rikti is Tonight at 9PM Eastern (8PM Central, 7PM Mountain, 6PM Pacific) in Rikti War Zone.

Starting point is Point Du Hoc and teams are typically made on the fly via in-zone chat (Broadcast, Local, etc).

Come out and have some fun!

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

Despite a low turn out tonight we had a solid run. A little bumpy at times but not unbearable.

Thanks to all those that took the time to join. Would love to see more of you.

RtR is scheduled to start at 9pm but is on the calendar for 8pm because it has started early in the past.

    I will correct it.

Rush the Rikti is on the callendar for 8PM eastern because we have often times started early and I want to make sure everyone understands that 9PM eastern doesn't guarantee space.

Rush the Rikti is scheduled to start at 9PM eastern but may start early so if you want space, be there early.

    Thanks,

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

What a success tonight was! Thank you all for coming out to Rush the Rikti on an odd night, you guys are all awesome!

Keep an eye out I might decide to do another Rush the Rikti again this weekend at some point!

Thanks again to you, the players, who make this raid possible.

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

We have had a couple of week without transgressions by any individuals attempting to pull the GM early and grief the raid group.

I have also been asked to run a special edition of Rush the Rikti on the Thursday night of the upcoming double XP weekend (Aug 11) - I will be happy to do so but this will depend entirely on participation; if there are enough participants we will run the raid. I'd like to keep our 9pm Eastern start time and hope to see everyone there and new faces are more than welcome.

    Thanks,

This really does sum it up nicely. I'll add my nickle to it: The fact that we have to watch the GM to ensure it doesn't get pulled early or apparently to some unknown location is, in my personal opinion, pathetic.

If anyone wants to take an opportunity and attempt to pull the GM please feel free to send me a message prior to the start of the raid and I will make the necessary adjustment, the main concern is to get you on to my team in case something goes wrong we will have a direct line of communication. After all luck favors the prepared.

A big thanks goes out to everyone who participated tonight in the botched raid and another thank you goes out to everyone who opted to stick with me for a second raid to take out the GM. Awesome job all around.

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

First night for Rush the Rikti in weeks that I did not see getting off the ground due to insufficient participation.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to make the appearance, I know everyone's life does not always permit.

On a positive note, Rikti War Zone had been filling early once more with last week starting nearly a full ten minutes early and two runs.

I'd like to get that momentum back, start early and run long more often!

As always, I may lead but you, the players, make it possible!

There was lag, there were crashes, there was some fun.

    Thanks to the Dev(s)/Admin(s)/GM(s)
