And people claim "Champion is dead." I see other servers carefully scheduling one single Hami Raid, and we're talking about having two weekly ones.

I'll be there tonight. I'd probably show up periodically for a weeknight one, just like I do for the Sunday one.

(Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, deponent sayeth not.)

I'll be there as well, fashionably late though.

But go ahead and fill my spot. I'll just mosey on by and check the hive for a vacancy (if there is a vacancy.)

It was great to be back in the pit.

Great job leading the raid, Cherry!

What's great is that I saw quite a few new faces at this raid, which emphasized to me that there are a lot who can't generally make Sundays. I'm thinking what might be best is one planned raid on Sundays and one unplanned one on whichever day of the week that ends up working out. This would provide more opportunities for folks to attend and not create too strict a schedule for the raid leaders to work around.

Anyways, great fun! Thanks to all that attended.

I totally agree with what Amy said here. There was alot of new faces, which was alot of fun. And I must say that even though there were quite a few who had never done one prior, the entire raid went VERY smooth and we still did it in the normal time period that the raid is ran on sunday nights. Great job all! Was lots of fun!

Okay, so Hamidon won tonight. But, I still want to thank Cherry for doing a bang up job leading tonight. I honestly don't think anyone could have done better. It was just a confluence of issues that lead to our defeat. Learn from them, and move on. So, once again, good job, Cherry, and thank you!

Im not sure what to even say about tonight. There are numerous things that came into play that led to it being difficult and I honestly feel there were people (numerous) that didnt have the best of intentions when they enterd the hive.

learn and move on i guess.

Sorry to those that came and it ended as a bust.. and major thanks to those that did come and were supportive.

IMHO, Cherry and the other leaders did a fantastic job.

I am not trying to be condescending here, just offering advice,

The problem was not other people. I suggest you get advice from Amygdala, Cobalt Azurean, and Steel Brigade on how they do it successfully.

Things took a long time to organize (no, that was not an easy task with so many people). The other problem was Cherry having to deal with computer issues and DCing at the start of the attack run, that was the time a second leader should have stepped up and continue the attack instead of retreating.

If you ever do this again, learn from this run and improve on it. The first run is always the best place to make the mistakes, learn from it, and improve.

Why did i not step up? I was told not to, it was already handled.

Ok normally I keep quiet, but here I go...

" The problem was not other people. I suggest you get advice from Amygdala, Cobalt Azurean, and Steel Brigade on how they do it successfully."

That little snippit right there, that one little statement, yeah um THIS IS THE SAME ******* WAY WE DO THIS EVERY ******* WEEK FOR A ******* YEAR... 5 count'em 5 different people have lead a Sunday raid using that exact same strategy. I do believe it is the one Amy told us to use.

"The other problem was Cherry having to deal with computer issues and DCing at the start of the attack run, that was the time a second leader should have stepped up and continue the attack instead of retreating."

Hmm if I remember correctly someone did step up, ME... And yes I did call everyone out because Cherry was taunting 2, thats right 2 yellow mitos. And if she was dc'ing the second in command on that team would need to reassign mitos.

Normally I'm Mr. Calm Cool & Collected but **** am I pissed.

Cherry and the other leaders did nothing wrong. We addressed the issues that we noticed after the raid and it was nothing to do with the raid itself.

"If you ever do this again, learn from this run and improve on it. The first run is always the best place to make the mistakes, learn from it, and improve."

You know what we do plan on doing this again guess when. EVERY SUNDAY 7:30 PM EST SAME BAT TIME SAME BAT CHANNEL RTFMOTD BMT, oh wait, thats right..

Thanks Cherry for leading the impromptu Hami!!

I think it's cool that you want to get other players who can't make the regular Sunday evening Hami a chance to take down the jello monster. It's a great opportunity for new Hami raiders to learn about teamwork. As veteran Hami raiders know, there are many variables in a Hami raid and it takes a lot of people who know how to follow direction and ask questions (questions are good!) because the jello can be unforgiving and certainly uncooperative at times.

Keep up the great work!!

Trev.

Do you think I just randomly decided 1 day to lead a hami raid with no prior knowledge on how to do so? I, along with others, have had mentors.. Amy and Cobalt are part of that group

In the 8 months that i personally have been part of the raids, I've never seen Steel at a raid participating let alone leading a team or the raid itself. He is a long time vet and Im sure has been a part of prior raids, and Im sure he has some ideas on how to improve them, and thats fine. I defer to the people that I have been with weekly, and the strategy thats used, works. There are numerous factors that led to lastnights failed attempt.

It took a bit longer due to all the new faces in the hive that have never had the chance to participate in a raid. The other leaders giving instructions etc etc

Yes, this was an issue, and a major 1. In addition to leading the raid itself, I was also leading the yellow mito taunt team..There are 6 mitos... I had 5 tanks on my team, 3 of which had never been there.. I had to take on taunt for 2 mitos.. typically on sunday raids, its not an issue due to there being others in place that know what to do should something like this happen.. lastnight we didnt have that luxury. Fang tried his best to keep an on eye on it as well, but, as main target he had his own job to do..when you take away from 1 job, another gets put at risk.. Netminder was the other tank on the team that has experience on taunt, he stepped up when I booted and tried as well.

This wasnt my 1st lead role on a hami raid, felecia... It was however, my 1st failed 1.

As the current strategy goes, we have team leads in place and they all have specific jobs to ensure that what ended up happening lastnight, doesnt. We had, for the most part, the same team leaders we have each week, give or take a couple.

you walking into the zone with your 8 man team, and several other aow people on their own team as well caused quite a bit of disruption. When it was explained to you, on numerous occassions, why you having your own team was a bad idea, you, along with several others from aow, made the teams you did end up on difficult. It was as if suddenly, all of you forgot how to play this game. You would speak your displeasure in local chat, when that didnt work, you took it to broadcast and when that didnt work, you stepped into request. Having that kind of disruption creates chaos for the new people trying their best to follow instruction given by myself and the other team leaders. It was easy for the leaders to ignore this chatter, but, its not for the others... specially the new people in the hive.

You conveyed several times both in request and in tells the fact that it was being done incorrectly and that how AOW and UHB will "show us all how its done" (im sure UHB didnt appreciate you dropping their name into the mix). In the 8 months Ive been a part of these raids, felecia, ive never seen you there..nevermind leading a team, or an entire raid.

I Invite you to do so. Infact, Im sure all of us would be interested in seeing this and welcome it.

Youre big on "tossing down the gauntlet" for things.. so here it is.. I challenge you and aow to lead a hami raid and showing us all the correct way to do it.

Thanks for a great, if unsuccessful, effort last night. First time I've been on a hami from the start so I can't tell you what did or did not go wrong.

From my little corner of the hami raid (I was on the yellow taunt) an ideal situation would have been - 1 emp to 2 tanks, moving back and forth between the two with heals, etc. I learned that range is your friend. () and when I cleared out my tray, I should have kept a couple bf's.

I learned that when the hami taunt team goes down, everything else collapses also. In a hurry.

I learned that Cherry is a STUD! She taunted 2 yellows on every rush, was on the far side so I wasn't able to help her (things were falling apart on my side of hami) and she still outlasted the 2 / 3 tanks I was aiding. Great job.

I think I learned that once the taunts have started, if the damage teams can't take out the yellow mitos, you are doomed to fail. Our first rush took out only 1 yellow. Second rush took out two more and the third took out the rest. They did better on the second spawn but then we didn't have enough holds to finish the attack.

I also learned that, after two hours, I was still angry we couldn't complete the raid. There were lots of new players to the raid. I invited one who have never even heard of the hive before. I will definitely try to make more.

Thanks again Cherry. I look forward to doing it again.
