'Shipping the NPCs

Out of respect for BlueBattler's awesome literary skills and ideas, I'm going to keep this thread going...

Lady Grey / Dark Watcher - Only a fool wouldn't see this one. Both are incredibly straight forward tacticians who will do whatever it takes to get the job done. They are also both incredibly long-lived and rather spry considering their age. Double darkness, too (I always imagine Devin as being a DM/WP scrapper and Lady Grey being a D3 Defender/Corruptor). I think Devin and Grey understand each other on a mystical level.

It's always mystified me when people see homosexual relationships where there really aren't any. o_o

I think Statesman is just bi - but Recluse is out and out flamboyant - I think there's a secret reason why they really fell out at the Well of the Furies

I think it's the same gut reaction that makes the average schmoe think of the bedroom when they find out someone is gay, instead of just seeing them as a person or thinking of normal mundane things like shopping.

It's because it's hotter to watch two of the gender you like going at it. Though with women slashing up the male characters it appears to be more lovey-dovey, whereas with men slashing up the women it's RAWR teh hardcorez.

Dr. Quaterfield and Dr. Huxley seem like they'd make a cute couple.

Also Dr. Huxley mentions that Sara Moore has a bit of a crush on Lt. Col. Flynn and honestly if you read their dialog they do seem to talk to each other about the missions that they give you a lot of the time...

I think Nemesis is probably in love with himself
I wonder if GR will see some hawt slashes, like Synapse/Neuron? Or Statesman/Tyrant?

And talking of Statesman, Imperious and Romulus also totally have a love/hate thing going on

Meh, I suppose. I care about canon and realistic settings, more than anything.

I do too - that's why I know Statesman and Recluse have something going on - it just so totally obvious

With Manticore as the seducer to try and take States away from Recluse with Synapse thrown in for comic relief. After all, Synapse is just barely able to be good enough to catch and handle Manticore's shaft.

Now, on the other hand.. BABs is probably the only one that can make Manticore the uke.

That's not hard to imagine, considering there are millions of him running around

And, with Ouro, he's surely loving himself OFTEN

Same here. People will interpret what they want to interpret from a story, regardless of how left field their interpration -may- be. Supernatural and the X-Men come to mind.

Tales of Judgment. Also here, instead of that other place.

good luck D.B.B.

I ship Jay/Rest of the World.
So that maybe, one day, he'll make it to me...

Also: Lusca/Sushi Girls. It seems like a safe bet, no?

@Raddidit: Just don't think about it too much.

Dating a girl whos very...avid...about this has taught me that you can't take these things too seriously. Just laugh at them for the crack parings they are.

At least no ones made art yet.

I said "'Shipping" because I tend to think of 'ships as being relationships that will never be canon.

I actually see Percy and Katie as more of a couple with Skipper going for Kelly Nemmers. Something about the way he introduces her just smacks of unrequited love to me ... *sighs as he thinks of yet ANOTHER fic he needs to write ...*

I actually think Lord Recluse is more spider than man, now ... and incapable of feeling romantic love or even physical desire for a human being these days. (Why else would he strive to reproduce himself using the Arachnoids?) On the other hand, there is also evidence suggesting that he had a thing for Red Widow so maybe he and Cole are both one-woman men ... which could suck for immortals...

Praetoria-wise, I think that Maurader and Dominatrix may actually be a clandestine couple ... just something about the idea that we see them together several times ... (though I don't think Tyrant would approve if he knew).

It's totally not canon with no real evidence to support it, but I could easily see Luminary as being in love with her predecessor, the human Luminary Kit Rafter. She was built to resemble his human wife and she's developing a personality similar to her's? Why would she NOT be in love with him? (Or vice versa ...)

(Oh, and Michelle? If you're reading this, you really need to do a scene where Posi and Sorina are shopping for wedding gifts and she pointedly tells him that she's going to make the pick-- giving a couple a robot modeled after the bride just strikes me as being a bit on the kinky side ...)

The fanfic is strong with this thread. Hmmmm, 'shipping usually implies relationships that are out of canon, often outrageously so. i mean they're usually relationships that fulfill some whim or fetish of the fanfic author and frequently contradict established relationships and character personality traits, so....

Ghost Widow/Rulaaru (i'm going for the absurd aspect here, but really, the more i think about it the more disturbing the possibilities become.)

Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...

*rolls up sleeves* Careful what you say. I've dated a few girls very infatuated with either Zoisite/Kunzite from Sailor Moon or Harry/Snape from Harry Potter, depending on the girl, so I've been beyond the bothered point onto being able to joke about it and make the pairings easily.

Statesman/Lord Recluse.. childhood friends and rivals who often get into hot and heavy fights with each other, etc. Always thinking of each other in some form or another. What should we call it.. Statescluse?

Statesman/Manticore.. rivals in philosophy but with the same goals in mind. Manticore's already been established in the canon to have penetrated Statesman deeply with his hard shaft. I imagine Manticore's the aggressor in this, and most likely the sadist to Statesman's masochist. Hmm.. Staticore? Manman?

Back Alley Brawler/Manticore.. longstanding fatherly or at least teacher relationship between the two. Back Alley Brawler seems to be one of the few people who can keep Manticore in line, thus making Manticore the sub in this pairing. BABicore?

Tyrant/Statesman.. Statesman seems to spend quite a bit of time chained up in Tyrant's own personal dungeon, doesn't he, hmm? Again we see States' canonical ties to being a masochist again. Maybe we should just call this one ColeĀ².

Anti-Matter/Neuron.. once friends, now rivals and enemies. Quite a bit of emotional friction there.. but I bet if there's anyone who can get Anti-Matter out of that literal and emotional shell of his armor, it's Neuron.

Aeon/Aeon.. Dr. Aeon's pretty full of himself, and he has the ability to make clones of himself. I'm sure there's a very dirty and obvious joke in there, somewhere. But let's leave that as is. Aeon^10.

Wincott/Frostfire.. there has to be a reason why Wincott keeps going after him and keeps letting his son end up in trouble all the time to the point where he has to send people after Frostfire. There also has to be a reason why Frostfire lets it happen and keeps going back for more. I imagine Frostfire spends nights melting the ice on the iced over windows of his hideout so he can look longingly in the direction of the gate to Atlas Park and the mustached man he wants to help melt the layer of ice over the raging inferno that is his heart. Winfire.

Do I win?

1) Zoisite/Kunzite is a real pairing. They are lovers in the manga (stating because they are not a "shipper" couple. They just are.).

2) Harry/Snape? What is wrong with you people?

3) States/Recluse: The ONLY reason I don't see Statesman and Recluse being lovers, ever, is that Marcus has always been much infatuated with Monica.

4) Statesman/Manticore: Manticore has Sister Psyche and has never shown any feelings for any man in any canon.

5) BAB/Manti: Same as above.

6) Tyrant/States: lol wut?

7) Anti-Matter/Neuron: AM is obsessed with Domi. Neuron has a sex toy in Bobcat. Give it up.

8) Aeon^10: Somewhere, somehow, there would be an Aeon insane enough to sex himself up.

9) Wincott/Frostfire: Wincott has nothing personal against Frostfire, per say. The Igneous haz Lil Wincott. However, Winfire is a fantastic name. XD

*fumes*

Edit: You just got served. *finger snaps*

Sure about that, Blue? I know her personality matrix (or w/e you like to call it) was designed to emulate the woman, but that doesn't mean she is turning into her.

For example: Citadel is based off Statesman genetic and personality patterns, but acts... not really like Statesman.

I'm basing the whole "developing the personality of Jeanette aka Mrs. Luminary I" off Lumi's Paragon Wiki entry. I seem to recall that I've seen the reference in game but I can't really swear to that. It may not actually be canon, but if not it SHOULD be.

As for Citadel ... to be fair, we don't actually see much of ANY personality for him at all. (Which some might argue means he's an exact double of Statesman in personality ... )

But for what it's worth, my own thought about Citadel's personality is that-- since Crey built him as revealed in Manticore's "Fodder for the Canon" thread-- is that Citadel should actually SOUND like Statesman and have his body language (as gleaned from extensive viewing of footage of Statesman by Crey's scientists) with a personality that's based on the public's popular view of Statesman's personality rather than be an actual double of the complex person that is Marcus Cole.

It'd be like having Superman as seen in the next to the last season of the Justice League Unlimited Series dealing with a robot double that's actually based on the performance of Christopher Reeve ...
