Most likely turning in Halloween salvage, just like with the Zombie invasion.
Yeah, was on this afternoon doing a 7 hour push-up session on my Katana/SR scrapper to get a bit more buff (was on at work, getting pestered regularly, so I parked in the two PVP zones available to me and worked the timed badges while locked in the /e pushup emote).
Saw it pop up, and don't remember the exact time.
I'd like to know what the trigger is to.

Excellent! Now I'm glad I stockpiled all mine.
Last year, they made it so turning in Halloween costume salvage for the extra costume slot had a chance to trigger the Zombie Apocalypse. Now, doing so has a chance to trigger either the Zombalypse or the Deadly Apocalypse (which some people are starting to call 'Supernatural' since the zone event message says 'Supernatural Activity dectected in X zone...').

Verbal confirmation on the test server from a dev, yes. But since that involves trusting someone's word, I guess that counts as no confirmation.

Well, I turned in salvage today, then about a minute later the Supernatural activity in Grandville zone event message showed up.
My partner earlier tonight turned in some salvage on Virtue, and a DA event was initiated immediately in Brickstown.
It's almost a shame it seems to be occurring more often than the zombie event - the structure of the apocalypse event almost requires larger amounts of people and more coordination among those involved, which is unlikely now that the Halloween event is over and people are back to doing normal content.

I'd like to see these events moved to more theme appropriate zones like Croatoa and Dark Astoria. It would deifnitely drum up more interest in those zones.
