So, driving down the road with my girlfriend and there isn't a single good thing on the radio, so we switch over to her favourite radio station for the promise of good music.. That's when we heard the dreaded music. And I thought Rick Rolling only plagued Youtube!

We're promised good music, but instead get Rick Astley playing.

I thought you were refering to the ikee iPhone virus that changes the users background image to a pic of Rick and the phrase, "ikee never gonna give you up". Guess it goes to show we're not safe from rick-rolling anywhere!

My local rock/alternative radio station had the Nirvana/Rick Astley mash-up in light rotation for a bit when that came out.

I dunno. I guess I have a hard time "classifying" this as a Rick/Roll.

Remember, the song was the first single off an album that was certified multi-platinum, and stayed at number 1 on the UK charts for 5 weeks. The song also picked up a Brit award in 1988.

So, if you're listening to a radio station that plays classic hits... Never gonna give you up certainly qualifies.

Now. If you were listening to say... a Country station and the DJ announced that the next song was by Tim McGraw... played a few bars from a Tim McGraw track, THEN played Never gonna give you up... yeah. That'd be a proper Rick/Roll.

Sorry, but the Cartoon Network captured the absolute pinnacle of the Rick Roll at the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Rick Rolling millions of viewers simultaneously?
