Costume Suggestion: Ghost/Invisible body.
Against the idea of making the whole body invisible as we have powers to do that properly. But part of it? Sounds interesting. I think it would give problems with the textures though as those are not designed to use without the other parts.
I'm going to keep this post as simple as possible, as it's a simple idea.
Allow players to define parts of the body, or the whole, as ghost / invisible, so that they're no longer visible (A bonus option would be an ethereal look, but that's not the idea for this suggestion) Allow us to keep armour / clothing intact as we choose. The idea? Ever wanted to play a headless toon? Turn the head display off. Want to play as a floating suit of armour? Hover + ITF armour + invisible body. Keep everything animated / connected to it for simplicity. This would be a purely cosmetic change. More development / refinement could come later when time and resources are available. |
Want. Do really, really want.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Invisible heads? /signed. Invisible everything? Sounds like a PVP nightmare, as well as making 90% of the powersets in the game look silly if we're talking invisible arms.
Totally signed for full body ghost options though.

Though that would make tops with skin options a nightmare.
But I could finally make that martial arts stalker of mine who is a possessed pair of pants.

Better be a Martial Arts character. And their battlecry better be "You've been pantsed!"

Would love this. I've always wanted to make a floating suit of armour!
PVP nightmare? I'd be cosmetic, it has nothing to do with actual invis. Everything else would still be animated, SS, toggles, etc.

I would like for a transparent appearance. Maybe as a skin-tone?
Arc ID: 348998 - Becoming a villain
Arc ID: 373341 - To Save a Hero
Got Inf?
They would have to make it an optional section that way they could control what could be done with no body. No full on invisible torso without some sort of floating chest cover.
Yeah, but if it made you completely invisible, then you could make a character almost impossible to see in PvP.

But I get what you're saying. Maybe a white glowy outline in PVP zones?

Think along the lines of suits of armour, floating tuxedos, headless horseman, etc etc.
While cool, I doubt this would ever happen. The reason being, most costume pieces as I understand it don't exist outside of what can be seen. Like how if you get up close to a wall so the camera zooms in and part of your character's head disappears, you don't see the inside of the other side of the head. So if you, with the existing pieces, made for example an arm invisible, the character would have a giant gaping hole where said arm attaches to the rest of the body, through which you would be able to see right through the character. They'd have to remake the vast majority of the game's costume pieces. So yeah, not likely any time soon.

Sounds simple enough, yeah. But multiplied by almost every costume piece in the game?

Are auras strong enough to pull off the semi-transparent effect like the ghost pirate costume you can get during Halloween?
Tales of Judgment. Also here, instead of that other place.
good luck D.B.B.
I like the sound of this. I'd also like to have more skeletal parts.

It's a cool idea although I'd probably say let's just restrict it to invisible arm/hand/head and neck. This way, it can play out to various concepts, it doesn't upset the pvp'ers and hopefully not impose too much on the artists.
Maybe it could be the 69 month vet reward? ( ' : <

If a costume part isn't in the game at all, I can accept that it's not there to use. If it's there, but locked away from me just because I haven't played long enough? Game over. F that.
