Linked teams
I think this would be pretty useful. Although Broadcast works very well, in certain "hub zones", it can clog the chat flow.
It gets my vote.
Request is typically used for this in my experience
Its a decent enough Idea, but I can think of better things that coding time could be used for.

well, the concept worked with Planetside in turning squads into Platoons, and it worked with WarHammer in turning Teams into Warbands. No reason why it couldn't be made to work in CoH as well.
I dimly recall multiple teams being able to work towards a single goal before... wasn't that in Cathedral of Pain?

While it's an admirable idea, it's not going to happen until they have more raid type situations for it to be used on. BaB and I talked a lot about it back when Hamidon was revamped. He made it clear to me that while there is only one (two now) raiding situations in the game on a permanent basis, there's not enough need to warrant the time in creating a more robust raiding group control/interface.

Yes, you are right, they would count, and the original post was about better managing what resources were available in a fight.
No, I sort of skip over them because they aren't really instanced missions or task forces, and my mind was thinking in terms of content requiring 2 or 3 teams working together.
It would be nice to have some way of keeping track of team leaders.
Trying to organise the Ship raid tonight was slightly chaotic, but always has been, because you dont know who team leaders are to refer invitees to, or who should be shouting 'Bomb planted!'
Not helped by someone who was trying to dictate team builds, and adding a pocket kin to teams...
You mash the pylons, you board the ship, you beat the living snot out of the scumbag alien invaders! You get technical with their demise, not trying to sort the teams!

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

We got Mothership, Hamidon, Banners, GM's like Lusca and in lesser need Rikti and zombie raids.
Hey,
Have you ever thought it was annoying that you had to have like 4 teams for a raid and couldn't see who the other teams where, or the other team leaders, or even how many teams there are!?
now wouldn't it be great if you could see and keep track of where members in other teams are during a zone event? i know it would make raids easier, and would mean that default team size wouldn't change.
So what would happen is the leader of one team would link with the leader of other teams, this would give you a section for each team in a similar design to the pets window. You would be able to see the leader of the other teams and would have a drop down option to see the other team members in whatever team you wanted.
you could have a linked chat channel seperate to the team chat channel to eliviate the chat flow level of having like 32 players using the same chat. This would be only usable in world maps and hazard zones, and if the team leader entered an instance the team would leave the link. Also if it could be worked out maybe exp could be linked so if one member of any of the teams killed an enemy everyone would get a little exp which would make it more fair for the smaller teams during the raids. It would also be easier to communicate without outside interuptions from broadcast of the requests channel.
So what do you guys think: Yay or Nay????
