An awesome time waster.

I just wish that the PSP had a second set of shoulder buttons like the dual shock controller, then I would be able to use a manual ******. I dislike the shifting using up and down.

PF, I think everyone here has good ideas. What seems to be said mostly is go and do something ELSE you enjoy for a bit.

As the saying goes Man (or in your case, woman) can't live on bread alone.

It works for me.

I've played Lego Star Wars, hours of good fun.

On a side note, I have to laugh at the rocket scientist who, in a message to me, claimed that all the games I listed above are "weak games". Seriously, you made me chuckle.

I finally broke down and picked up L4D off of Steam last night right before going to bed so I would have it downloaded when I get home. Looking forward to some Zombie beat down tonight.

Duuude! Look for Ozmosis!

*back on topic*

Ya, after 4+ years, I've been feeling burnt out for a while now.

It's to the point where even a new issue left me feeling burnt out... and failed to catch my interest. I also only logged in the halloween event twice so far (once to get the badges, once to help out a friend). I'm hoping GR is going to fix my decreasing interest in this game.

In the mean time, I've been keeping myself busy in that other MMO, as well. It's a refreshing change of pace. L4D also helped when it came out last year, nothing like shooting zombies in the head to get rid of the blues Their PvP is also quite addicting. And since it came out, they added another game (survival) and recently added a new campaign (crash course).

However, before this burn out feeling started sinking in, and I was just getting slightly tired, something that helped perk up my interest again was setting myself some goals. Things like: getting one level 50 of every AT (did that 3 times over hero side, working on forth generation now), work on specific badges (668+ i think on Ycebergg), purp/slot up your toons (got 3 of my 16 50's done), work on the SG (currently 8th on the server, with biggest possible base size), etc etc etc.

But again, as previously mentioned in this thread, people is the real reason you will want to come back after such a long time in a game. It's what keeps me coming back.

I was playing lego Batman last night after my router died and couldn't get on to CoH.

That was an enforced break

but I agree it is highly satisfying and there's not a lot of commitment to those game.

Another one I like and is a great break is PAIN for the PS3. What can be more relaxing than flinging a guy from a huge slingshot trying to break as many things as possible before he stops moving.

(and what makes it more fun is i bought extra characters for it. George Takei and the Hoff )

Hey, I got rose because CO is a "waste". Go figure.

Oh yeah, Lego Indiana Jones and Star Wars are fun as heck.

I got negative rep for this with the quote: "That is pathetic."

What the Hell? Of course it's pathetic. My friends do very little in their lives. They sit, drink, and talk about their work lives or stuff they did in college while I was in the Marines. They also do other stuff I can't mention here that isn't very appetizing.

So, because of that, there's little in my real life that holds my interest.

Thanks for opening a dialogue with me like a person would, instead of messing with my status and delivering a heartless jab at my self esteem.

Yeah Grey, I got 3 negative hits just for saying that I was having problems with burnout. With comments like "Then leave"

Too bad there isnt a way to track down who made the comments and gave the negative hits, you know what they say about payback..

Anywho. It'll pass, and honestly I dont think I have it as badly as I thought if yesterday was any indication. lol

your self esteem is plenty healthy - your a pompous ***.
I wish I knew what I did to offend this person or that they would actually try to talk to me. This all seems so unnecessary.

And, as a matter of fact, my self esteem is not fine. A recent spat of drama elsewhere has got it all full of holes because I feel like I've lost a friend.

And, if someone insults you, they could at least spell it correctly.

In the example above, it's "your" when it should be "you're". Personal insults are a fine art, gross ineptitude like this muddies the whole affair altogether.

I agree, even qausi-role-playing helps. You don't even have to do it all the time. Try making new characters that tie in with the others, assemble your own hyper-story, maybe even make an Architect story arc about it. You really haven't run out of options yet. You've just run out of ideas.

You pay to play. Having fun is ok. Kill Skuls or kill Crey. Hunt at night or in the day. Black or white or shades of grey. Play it your way. We have no say.

Well, all the crybabies should be happy now.

I don't see why it even matters. If it was such a big deal, and supposed to be a "forum game"... and it's being abused, why not just remove it. Because, anyone with enough friends can have a sky-high green rep.

*shrugs* But, that's just my opinion.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll turn mine back on so maybe I can haz red dotz instead of greenz.

o.O

After thinking about it: I just don't understand why anyone would give a faceless (or not) person on the forums that much power in their life, to make them so unhappy about little red and green dots.

That, right there Wolfie. You nailed it.

I was trying to goad the person into declaring themselves publicly, but they got indignant and self-righteous on me from the safety in anonymity. I was getting bothered by other posters talking about it, too, and the fact that it seems like this is the new "One Star Bandit."

Oh well. The game is done for me. Time to find something better to focus on.

The Revolutionary War may have been won through guerrilla tactics, but this is not war nor does it have a point. It's just somebody jabbing at people from the shadows for their amusement.

I like to think that for a time, I caused it to cease being amusing.

*waits for the next red dot*
