Oh god no! Oh god my nw
I'm afraid there's no helpin' ya. The changes to Elusivity implemented in i13 or i14 decimated ATs that rely heavily on Defense.

People made fun because the head guy of Champions likened balancing to over-correcting in a sailboat. While it is a disturbing analogy if true often, I'd say pointing at Castle's attempts to balance pvp is a clear indication of the danger he'd be on the water.

Well, they have some, but I'm sure the point was that it's not enough to make do in PvP vs. the nastier -def effects players can pump out.

Didn't PvP get whittled down to where all that stuff doesn't seem to matter anyway? I was under the impression that PvP was effectively turned into Rock Em Sockem Robots.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

(From a thread about pvp changes)
Only about 1/5th of the changes I asked for made it in; about half the changes that did take place were things I didn't fully back, but allowed myself to be talked into. Ultimately, that doesn't matter in the least: The current situation *is* my responsibility. For now, I bide my time and wait for the next pass.

castle: Baaaaaw its not my fault |

Yea I was going to respec my old bane into a new i13+ pvp build and i was super excited with all my debuffsand damage and then i looked at ingame numbers...
There is literally no reason to roll SoA.
Fort < Corr or Dom
NW < Stalker
Bane < Stalker
Crab < corr dom or MM
Banes are gonna be nice in Going Rogue, assuming HEATs and VEATs can switch sides. Shatter from hide doesn't do nearly as much damage as an AS but it's not interruptible. A friend and I were three-shotting Regens in RV the other day on our Banes - BU/Surveillance/Shatter x2 hurts quite a bit, and then a Shatter Armor afterwards for good measure. VEAT stealth might not be all that wonderful but at the perception cap they'll be seeing Stalkers and dropping them out of hide - I've got a build in Mids for a Bane that I'll probably build after Going Rogue which is specifically designed to see stealth-capped Stalkers and drop them out of hide without any outside +perception. Of course, it's built kind of weird, doesn't have Stamina but has 65% ranged defense, 1600 HP, and 55% damage bonus while running double Assault.

Also I have one nitpick about all the GR pvp posts, do we even know we can pvp on switched sides? Just throwing it out there.
But the thing is, you can double AS a regen just as good as you can double-bane stuff a regen.
Also: Shatter Armor; what is that? Edit: nevermind just read up on it, that power alone might make banes even better cause of that -res debuff, considering you also have surveillence and even venom if you can stand the redraw (I know I can't). I think if me and my friend made double leadership banes we could put out as much dmg as a stalker but the problem still remains of a weak stealth cap

He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
Taking my Bane to Siren's Call was some of the most fun I had while PVPing in 2.0. It got tiring quickly though when I realized that I pretty much had no defense. I switched to a Huntsman build to finish leveling, with the plan to go back to Bane on my second build. Hopefully I find RV more to my liking, all the other things I've pvped on seem to synergize so much better at that level than at the SC level.

By the way, who PvP in this game anyway?
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
