No Double XP for MA

Geesh, talk about yet another stubbed toe for MA. I guess we can all pretty much expect a poor showing this weekend, huh? I'd planned on trying to hit a couple arcs, but since I'll be playing with my wife and time is a rare commodity these days, looks like I'll be re-visiting old content myself.

Am I a traitor to the cause?

If your enjoyment of MA arcs is dependent on them providing double rewards, then yes, you'll have to stick with old content for this weekend.

I'm disappointed that (according to Posi's GMOTD) this is a bug and not WAI, personally.

I don't think it's so much a matter of a person's enjoyment of the MA depending on getting XP (or double XP) as much as a matter of priorities. Even if folks tend to play MA arcs primarily, a lot of them aren't going to sacrifice relatively rare Double XP time they could be using to work some of their alts up to play non-Double XP arcs that will still be there when the weekend's over - especially with the I16 hit the MA just took to XP anyway. And folks that only occasionally play arcs, or folks that might be thinking about playing them, certainly won't this weekend.

Thus, the MA will see considerably less action this weekend than usual.

P.S. - I'm anagram challenged. What's WAI?

If you have proof it isn't I would happily buy them >_>

Just sayin, it could be WAI, but you can't prove it either way.

I play primarily for the experience, the fun, the storylines. XP and levelling is cool, but not at all a top priority. It's impossible to not level in this game, so double XP weekends are much like avery other wekend as far as I'm concerned.

I'll be running MArcs this weekend, same as usual.

Eco.

MArcs:

The Echo, Arc ID 1688 (5mish, easy, drama)
The Audition, Arc ID 221240 (6 mish, complex mech, comedy)
Storming Citadel, Arc ID 379488 (lowbie, 1mish, 10-min timed)

Exactly. MA will still be there when Double XP is over, it's just a shame that the MA Contest is during the same time so it won't be effective trying to use it to advertise your arcs during this period. Most people are going to go for the double XP content instead.

It'd have worked better if the contest submissions had finished before Double XP weekend, that double XP worked for MA arcs, and that they then posted a list of all the submissions for people to check out themselves.

My only disappointment with it is that it'll make it harder to get feedback before the MA contest deadline.

I'm really trying to polish all 3 of my old arcs up to a glimmering shine... but if no one plays them I can't get feedback.

But ahh well, it's not a huge deal.

Like others, I'll still largely be in MA because well... that's where I tend to have fun. Older content isn't bad; but good player made content regularly outstrips it for me. (Probably cause I've done the dev-made content so many times <T_T>)

Clearly this is evidence that the devs now hate MA and have given up on it

You know the best solution?

Play twice as many MA Arcs!!

They need to give an MA double xp weekend to make up for it.

It's probably a coincidence, but an inconvenient one. If you can't see the perception that AE has taken another hit, then your world is all sunshine and daisies.

On the other hand, if it was deliberate, I'd guess it was to keep all the reactivated accounts, esp the disgruntled ones ( incl. min/maxers, pvpers looking for fast lvling shortcuts) that left at the end of last year, from descending over AE to look for exploits.

No wonder I wasn't leveling as fast as I normally do during a Double XP Weekend when I was playing around in there earlier. Oopsie.
