H341z0r Story Time...

The other day I'm on a team with two scrap's on my mind/therm troller and after a quick scanner mish in Talos we decide to pick up some more. After the leader picks up a few more one guy asks "Do we have a healer?" and jokingly I reply "i r h341z0r my badge says so"(I just received the Medic badge the previous mish). After the team fills up the last recruit checks the team makeup and replies "Don't blame me if we die because we don't have a healer" and to that I reply "wat's a healer?". His response made me laugh, "r you serious?" and he said something along the lines of a defender and a corruptor are healers, I forget the exact comment sadly. My knee jerk response was of course "I didn't know that city had healers".

The only thing he was right on was that we were buff light seeing as the team consisted of two scraps, one pb, one troller, one def(traps/ something, I forget), two tanks and one blaster. Anywho the mish was a warriors one set for +3 and I was kept busy mezzing, buffing and keeping people on their feet. It went fine until the top floor of the office map we were on where the pb accidentally(I suspect on purpose but I couldn't tell) aggro'd the whole room onto our group. After we all faceplanted the last recruit quits, the pb logs and one of the tankers dc'd mid fight. After they left the rest of us finish the mish with little trouble, end up filling up the team again and had alot of fun.

Anyone have any other "healer" stories to add?

I was on my thermal corruptor last night and get a tell asking if I was lft. I wasn't flagged, but I figured I could use a break from messing with AE, so I accepted. I fly over to the mission where the other 7 are already in the mission and hop in...

...only to discover that ALL 7 of the others are dominators. Half of them were already dead, the other half were dying. Apparently we were fighting carnies at level 30. Ouch.

So yeah, after the obligatory wipe, I wrangled them all up to slap some shields on them and tried again... For a team with no tanks or dedicated damage, it went pretty well. Still, that's the kind of team that goes 0 to death in less than a second. Especially when a Longbow boss negated the team's confuse attacks.

Either way, it was an interesting experiment. Thank god for the dominator buff a while back.

Had a team the other day insist we needed a healer and tank... we had enough defense buffs to soft cap us about twice over, plus control and assorted debuffs.

Fortunately, I was leading and they shut up after I let the blaster take a few alpha strikes and survive.

A team of 7 doms couldn't lock down a group of carnies? What were they doing, all using their melee attacks?

Seriously, a team of 7 doms should be able to lock down a group of enemies. Unless you're fighting archvillains with the Purple Triangles of Doom™ up.

I don't really have any good stories about being a healzor, but I have gotten several sincere "nice heals" comments from PuG teams with my Force Field defender. I have no idea what they thought was going on.

My scrapper gets the "Nice Heals" comments every now and then as well. He is a paladin, after all.

What in the bloody blue hell is "H341z0r"?

Was one of those Dominators Krell Dethbloom?

Cuz if so, that was my team, which is normally 8 Dominators, we don't suffer no death normally. But half team in ventrilo with me, I was piss *** drunk & I know 2 others where being distracted by their females.

As for Carnies at lvl 30, do that stupid Dead Man's Deck Arc, where you get the outside map with 900 billion Carnies packed close to each other. Once I kept explaining to non vent folks, Lock down the durn Ring Mistresses, life got easier, until someone would get jus a tad to close to another group.

Not one our finer moments, though today we did our usual run, only 1 deaths we got where my AFK Death(I think they led a mob to me, to get me killed ) & Phoenicis_Sands dying a lot

That's "leet" or "133t" speak for healer. Whoever originally came up with that wasn't to bright IMO...

Also that dom story was pretty sad. Even pre dom buff, a team of 7 doms could hold anything and destroy anything they wanted.

Well The mobs where spawning +2 Me, +3 rest of the team, for whatever reason my Villain of 1x+1 Lvl was making that map spawn far higher then it should.


So sad or not, -shrugs- Huge Difference in from a +2 to a +3, when some Dom's where still in DO's, that makes a huge difference.


As for experiment, This 2nd run as an All Dominator Team, first run was before the Dom changes(the VERY FIRST Dom Changes). 2 or 3 months after CoV came out. We did great then, This time around, I think large amounts of Apathy for CoX in general add to our team mentality

That was strange but that's not the first time I've heard of it. The same thing happened to me the other day when I decided to turn the diff back down so I could run through a few mishs I wanted to skip.

As for the dom scenario, it now makes sense why it went so badly.

We did an all Dominator SMSF. Only problem we had was very last mish with the Darn Turrets everywhere. But once I got crew buckled down & on their raptor packs, things got easier.

I run all Dom Team, Mon-Fri. 5pm-7pm(later on Fridays).

Then we may or may not play them Sat or After our Twin TF Sunday Mornings.

Doms used to be my favorite AT hands down but not anymore. I honestly had alot more fun on my doms pre "buffs" than I do post. They play alot different to me somehow now and I just don't like it. If I were still into playing doms I'd join you.

Not really a healzor story, or even a bad tank story per se, but I was on a team last week with a relatively new tank who had to pull around the corner EVERY SINGLE TIME. He even got complimented for being such a good tank -- and he was doing a decent job, thank God he didn't stand around for 2 minutes making sure everyone knew where he was pulling to, he just went ahead and did it -- but even when there was nothing but a hostage with 3 people around her, he would taunt them and pull them around the nearest corner. Lol.

I also laughed because at one point we had, I don't remember, 4 scrappers I think, and all but me were completely ignoring what the tank did and charging in full-tilt. Which is, after all, a scrapper's right. But it didn't stop the tank from trying to rush ahead of everyone and get his taunt and pull in first.

That was actually a pretty good team.

I still remember the time I got chewed out for my Tanker's build. I didn't take Taunt, because the way it was set up at the time (pre-NGE... oh, sorry, "Enhancement Diversification". Same damn difference.), I drew more than enough group aggro from one-shotting a yellow Minion or blue LT. And if something got by me, well, they were next, and they didn't like being next. At any rate, this guy just rails on me about how I'm not playing a Tanker correctly. I just told him "sorry I'm not your aggro monkey, now shut up and watch". We were in a full group, and taking on Freakshow at level 47 in a mission. My Tanker was 46 at the time. I told everyone to stand back and don't do a thing. Fifty seconds later, every Freakshow was dead, and my health hadn't gone below 80 percent. I didn't hear a peep from him after that.

On a pick up team a while back I was getting grief from one of our Tanks for not healing him fast enough....

I was playing a Storm/Electric Defender.

Yup, apparently, my O2 boost wasn't good enough for him.

If we weren't dealing with an AV at the time, I would have dropped him like a hot rock. As it was, as soon as the mission was finished, so was he.

Well my real healzor story was the last time I played my Infinity version of Mouse Police. she's an empath/energy, about level 22, and I got on a team with a moron leader who got mad at me because the team wiped 2-3 times (they were attempting stuff a couple of levels higher, and it it wasn't a great team) and I had the gall to try blasting in between heals. Never mind that my heals were firing as fast as they popped up and I was hardly short of endurance, he told me several times "JUST CONCENTRATE ON HEALING!" as if I were incapable of doing anything else, or as if doing nothing else was going to let me heal any faster.

After the second time I told him I thought he wanted a different kind of defender and quit. I put "Warning: I blast!" in my search comments. But frankly I rarely play my empath defenders because of morons like this.

I haven't had any really bad ones although I have had a few arguments with people who believe that a Defenders blasts are only for use when solo (I've started using 2 stars as a shorthand notation for people who believe this).

Anyway one amusing, almost relevant story. I was on a team with my Warshade floating around blasting things. For some reason the teams defenders (one was a defender) decided to put me on follow without telling me (and I didn't notice). So in one spawn a Cyst appears and I used my normal tactic of dealing with these which is to call out a warning, shift into dwarf form and charge... Afterwords I rezzed one of them as an apology .

Hmmm, my best one is a partial PUG TF I ran that had this Kin on it. The character had all the relevant powers, but once we got rolling, we realized that the Kin never SBed or Siphoned or anything like that. All this Kin did was rock Transfusion.

I'd never seen anything like it.

I believe I've posted on the dom boards a whole two times since the buff. Ohh well scrappers have recently stole my attention anyway...
