[chain]?
I noticed something like this a few months ago. No idea what it is.
Chain is a power that Hamidon uses against players. It's a-kin to Chain Induction, in that one player is struck by Hamidon and then granted a power, which'll auto fire against an ally, which'll also grant that ally the chain power, etc. I believe it has a 70% chance of continuing the chain with each jump as well.
Why it was still listed there, is most likely a bug. I've had that happen to me a few times on a character or two and it always eventually went away.

i first saw Chain: at the bottom of character info windows after Dual Blades were added. My guess was always that for Dual Blades users it would list the various combos. i haven't played Dual Blades, so this is just a guess.
Dr. Todt's theme.

Nope, it's the Blue Mitochondria's chain lightning power. (also used by Famine: Rider, iirc)
See, I thought it was some kind of tool for 'chaining" moves together too. But the info box clearly explains that it is a NECKLACE, a gold chain you wear. Unless Hamidon got all playah and stepped up his (her?) game and decided to give me a nice little somethin somethin, I think its fair to say Hami is not the source.

The "Chain" category you saw is a category for a special set of powers, in this case the chain lightning attack (name escapes me) that Hami uses, which works by granting a power. It's similar to the "Accolades" or "Set Bonus" power categories.
When you typed [Chain], since there's no actual power called that, what it found was actually this:

That is, a Magic/Mutant dual-origin enhancement named Chain, which was the first match for what you typed.

Yes, I've had this power appear on my characters... after and during Hamidon raids. During the raid it also appeared on basically every single person there, as they were struck. It might simply persist in your screen until logout, I'm not sure exactly when it's cleared.
No, it's nothing knew.

Actually, as BAB has mentioned working on a Helfire Whip animation, there's a tiny chance that there might be a whip/rope/tentacle/vine/cable power set being created, all under the heading of "chain" - but there's quite a bit bigger chance that the Hellfire Whip is something to do with Demon Summoning

I doubt he started that 4-ish+ issues ago, and gave it to Hamidon

Just being in the zone or LGTF with Hami is sometimes enough to have the Chain: category added to your list. It usually goes away on it's own eventually, if not once you zone.

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"
"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."
Cool, thanks for the clarifications everyone!

THIS, though I am unsure about the exact %chance also.

So last night I was casually looking at my enhancements on my 50 Controller, when i noticed a weird entry on the right-hand column (the one with the inherent and pool powers.)
Way down at the bottom, under the Epic pool powers, was one word- Chain. It was listed like a header, like "Fitness" or "Flight", but didn't have anything underneath it.
I bracketed it, and found out it was a magic gold chain/necklace that is supposed to increase my defense debuff powers by "0%" but I could not use it because I was not Mutant/magic. It was listed with the graphics of an enhancement recipe, although there was nothing in my tray or recipe list.
Is this a bug? A hint to an upcoming loot system? Anyone else notice anything similar?
