Missions that need to be changed
..and speaking of missions that need to be changed, I noticed one that didn't need to be changed the other night: the last mission of the Katie Hannon TF has been changed so that Katie will not follow any one person but instead runs all over the map, aggroing everything she sees. She will speak to one person like she is attached to them, but actually budge her that person would not. We had to actually summon a game-master to complete the mission.
This was cackled over in the server's task-force channel; one wit responded with, "haven't they done enough to that TF already?" Me: "They have now!" I'll never run it again, I can tell you that. |
When I was new to CoV, I was also new to MMOs and I nearly - I kid you not - I nearly quit the game over Blechly. That was back in the day before we could drop missions, I had only the barest beginnings of strategy beginning to form in my console-only little head, and Blechly.... well, he made a throw-rug out of my poor baby Rad/dark Corr so many times that honestly, I had begun to despair.
He had a bad habit of jumping out of nowhere! *MEZ!* *DEAD!* omg awful, lol. I was reduced to going outside and begging for help in Broadcast. Several kind +2s and +3s came in and killed him for me, or I would have been stuck forever. It takes guts to make an admission like that Nowadays things have changed; Blechly is the Judgement Day that determines the fate of a new character. If the newbie can solo Blechly, he or she is a keeper. Allow me to suggest that you not Fear The Reaper, even though yeah... the rumors about the Council Vampyre are true, and then some! Learn to beat him down. He's good practice for other horrid things you will face solo later on. Big hint: DO NOT let him take you by surprise. |
Uhm, and here I was assuming that you need 4 villains to do something like simultaneously clicking glowies as is needed in some arcs. I only done this one once and had forgotten how it actually worked and when I read the intro on another lowbie I was leveling I was filling in the details.
Right, nothing here. You have not seen me. I was never there. That was not me but Grlnnlng Spade.
Doh, doh, doh.
I go now to a quiet corner and feel very noobish ty.
Lol

Concerning the OP and Atta: I'm kinda shocked that people still do the Hollows, I mean, it is a good place to cut your teeth but even on Virtue it seems like another dead zone.
But anyway, I support any revamped content. Wish they would add more variety to paper/radio missions.
The are "A Path Into Darkness" from Colleen Nelson could use some sprucing up. The story is interesting, and provides some great backstory, but Nelson keeps suggesting you bring friends for the later missions, when the nastiest enemies to be fought are a few Dark Equinox Archons. Given that the arc involves a plot to flood the streets of Paragon with new warwolves, it could use an EB or two, and maybe a unique room for the end map.

Granted, if you are wanting all the merits from the zone, this only really works with the final arc, what with you having to get through the others first, but its still an easy load of merits, and you don't have to worry about having too may arcs open, since these are mini arcs with no known limit.

True story.
Also, Cap'n Mako's mission to defeat Ace McKnight ends in hilarious fashion, as immediately after his mug for the camera his escort of Knives of Artemis start kicking his smug face in.
This would be hilarious if a) it was actually intended and b) he didn't spawn health-dependent Knives ambushes to chew on any spectating villains.
I haven't tested it recently but as of about a month ago it was still messed up despite some bug reports.

There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"
Lt. Belchy is usually a pushover. I can't think of any villain ATs I've played that have not been able to solo him (even my lowly Stalker was able to put the vamp down. Granted, it was a tough fight for him (down to the wire for a change) if I remember correctly, but Bow Chicka Bow Wow was triumphant at the end.

Well I am going out now, and kick Lt Belchy in the (well you know where) for all these years of fooling me.
I think, if the coding were possible, for the dialogue of Night Widow Nocturne in the Faultline Arc or for Kalida in the VEAT Arc to be affected by detecting other NC soft (and perhaps, if possible, see if other companies would want to join in on the fun) games like...
Night Widow Nocturne: *Detects Lineage II on your system* "I see you like play Lineage II."
or... (And this would be awesome if Cryptic would allow it.)
Kalida: *Programs detects Champions on your system* "So you like to play that /other/ game, do you? You are not only a traitor Arachnos, but the whole world!"

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Like, oh... the Quaterfield TF? >,<
The same damn mission 4 times, in the Shard, no less. Really? Really?! |
It's like they deliberately tried to make it as long and tedious as possible. Then they added simultaneous clickies just to make SURE that if enough of your teammates decided ramming rusty nails into their eyes was preferable to spending another second on that abomination, you were completely and utterly screwed. Rularuu is laughing at you for even starting that thing.
Eva Destruction AR/Fire/Munitions Blaster
Darkfire Avenger DM/SD/Body Scrapper
Arc ID#161629 Freaks, Geeks, and Men in Black
Arc ID#431270 Until the End of the World
That defeat all psi clockwork on the factory map with patrols that get stuck on stuff.

Street hunts of more than 30. Street hunts that you have to do to progress with a story arc, that must be done in a specific zone (so you can't just grab a paper mission with the appropriate enemy group). |
Any mission that is essentially a repeat of the previous one, story-wise. Any mission that is essentially a repeat of any other mission. |
