Many peope are. Yes.
Global servers are screwing up, and mission load times are ridiculous.
It'll eventually load. You just have to have uber-patience. (Took me 13 minutes for one.)
If you are on a team, everybody on the team is affected as well. Your client didn't crash. You're just not getting the "green light" from the server. Doing control-alt-delete doesn't get you into the mission any faster.

And yes, I know control-alt-delete won't fix the problem, but after 20 minutes of freeze time, I had no choice...lol.
I also experienced this problem, after useing ctrl, alt, delete and clicking end task i receive a "program not responding, end now?" message and when i click end now..... it doesnt end now so I am forced to restart the computer to make it end the program 
unless I'm just doing something stupid and messing up my computer

For those who are having this same problem this is the reply I just got via email from tech support:
"We are currently aware of an issue with the server you have reported and are working to correct it as quickly as possible. Please try to connect again in a few minutes or watch for news on updates and fixes at www.coh.com. If you find that you are unable to connect after a long period of time please let us know when the issue started and what error you are receiving."
So, it does appear they are aware of this and it is being worked on.
I have been having this problem for the last hour or so.. Pretty annoying..
By the way, if you kill CityofHeroes.EXE under the "Process" tab it should pretty much kill it instantly, or at least quicker than using the applications tab.

good to know they are aware and working on it.
My SG was running Positron TF and at one point the loading screen failed to have any progress at all. so while I was waiting i played 2 games of FreeCell and decided to kill the program. 3 more tries, 2 different missions, 1 character of mine not on the TF and some others in local chat were having the same issue so I just called it a night.

This has been happening to me for the past hour or so. I play on Freedom, hero side. I've been trying to enter this mish for the past hour (6ish times i've tried to enter it) and every time the game just stops loading. I let it go for a good 20 minutes and there was still no loading progress. It let me zone from Steel to IP and then back to Steel but still wouldn't let me in my mish. Have to say this is highly annoying.
been haveing this problem as well. its random some misions/zones load fine one time then hang another.if leting it run its course it will eventualy dump me to log in then when log in it will say acount is active . hit ok an re log an np logn in.
hit crtl alt delete get the pregram is not responding message. end task wait a minute an its closed relog wash a repete till get in . very anoying .
im runing vista 32 with service pack 3 .not sure why this is afecting some an not others but id guess it more visa users than not.
I've been having No mapServer Disconnect problems since i16. When I zone into a mission, I have about a 50% chance it'll boot me back out and say No mapServer and I can use menu and exit to desk top to instant logout. If I use the log to password menu it will give me a blue screen of death. The good thing is I can log back in but if I try to enter that mission I will keep No mapServering. The other thing I've had happen is when I enter cap au or port oakes I have a chance of No mapServer Disconnect and that boots me to the login menu and there is no way for me to log them back in it keeps booting me back out. I submited a bug report and they moved my characters to mercy island and they logged in fine, otherwise I was told I'd have to wait til maintenance to be able to log them in. Very frustrating stuff to happen.
As I write this on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 19th, 2009 it seems there is currently a problem on some missions where they will not load and I am forced to do a "control-alt-delete" to get out of the program. I did send a bug report and have yet to hear back. So far, this has happened to me on 4 missions in Grandville villain side. This problem has just started up. Is anyone else out there currently having this same problem?
