Right after COP. That phrase is just a cop out for "we wont or cant fix this. but it will get you off of our backs while we work on some other gimmick and dont make content"

sure, but after 2.5 years I have quite a lot of confidence it wont change. They dont have a big track record of going back and updating/fixing things they left in the dust. This seems to be a business model they run with. Rather than update old crappy tf's, they hung a carrot in front of them. And said it was not cost effective to go back to old content and work on it.
COX isnt dead, but the fastest thing that would kill it would be another year of no content. They could do something that shook things up and removed old content replacing it with some new, something that would generate interest and probably bring back some old customers.

As far as I can tell, these changes were meant to simply move the farms out of Atlas Park. Also, for the most part it seems to have worked. As others have mentioned, it's actually easier to farm now and you can still farm the AE. It's just not exploitable in the same ways as before.

Farming regular content, police scanners, and maybe AE in RWZ (thank you devs) makes more sense now. This makes for a healthier game overall and an Atlas Park that is more geared towards letting new players learn how to play the game.

I love the fact that I can choose between running radios on my fire controllers spawned +0/x6-8 or my scrappers spawned +2/x4...or whatever I think I can handle at the time.

All of the customization and quality of life improvements only now have me wanting new content even more, which is the next logical step. Everyone here is waiting eagerly for GR (and the Coming Storm...?). Some high-end raid level encounters, task forces, story arcs spread around several new zones will make a big difference, and hopefully GR will only be the start of new content. It would be great if we could have more content added on a pretty regular basis now that the dev team has grown.

As a counter-point, I remember a lot of people wanted power customization and people thought it would never happen. Many wanted to create their own content, and that feature has been revistsed a lot since release, and while some forumites concentrate on the exploit fixes, the devs keep adding ways we can customize our missions and enemies (creating new exploits they have to deal with ).

I remember people said they would not revisit merit rewards or only revisit them to lower them, which has proven spectacularly incorrect. (Great job devs, the Ouro arcs are very much worthwhile now, both because I can get XP and the merits are respectable in most cases).

Playing lowbies anymore you just breeze through the low levels because they keep looking back at that old XP and leveling system.

They revamped the Hollows and Faultline and the RCS, added gang fights to Perez, have Fifth Column fighting Council in zones now. They added a flight pack seller to Grandville and FBZ.

They revamped side-kicking and removed the level requirements from hazard zones.

It seems to me they are constantly reconsidering and revamping older stuff, trying to make the game more appealing and fun.

I miss base raids and would like to see the CoP trial. That being said, I think the devs track record on revisiting older stuff has been mixed, at worst (and I would say its actually pretty decent, with a few disappointing exceptions), but understandably focused on where they believe their work will have the most impact.

I agree. I mean, the Devs even went back and revamped PvP, right?

Maniac Slammers?

Yeah they got changed. Castle added a pbaoe confuse aura to them and some sort of buff your buddies aura to them and upped the damage scale they do to 2.0. from what i remember in the beta forum.

Shame this went live too because if you get these mobs in the normal mission they're in they will give you grief.

That is not a shame, that is a good thing. Here are these other-worldly crazy folk that your high level super has to go stop.

They are like gangsters. *sigh*

I like the new versions better, especially since I imagine we may see more of them in the future. Now they seem worthy of inter-dimensional travel for high powered capes.

If I'm not mistaken, that was an MA-only change.

I think the best future I can see with the CoH franchise in general would be a full on sequel. New game, new city, new EVERYTHING. They can keep releasing issues with one day of plays worth of content every 4-6 months (or zero content as is the case with I16) but it's only gonna extend the life of this game so far. I don't know that Going Rogue is going to be enough, but I'm hoping it is.

This is messed up.
That "invisible attackers" thing I've been told is a bug/map error that pops up when you have too many on the map, like say a full team, three of whom are MMs with their pets out, etc.

Maniac Slammers live up to their name now, that's for sure.

Amusingly, with the exception of the XP adjustments for groups that don't contain enemies of all ranks (and even sometimes in that case), the I16 MA changes have ended up harming the story writers more than the farmers. Why? Simple - the farmers are doing what they always do, and moving on to the next-best thing. Meanwhile, the story writers are stuck with a broken system and are essentially being punished for having custom characters in their arcs.

What's really going to happen is the nerfs will continue until no one except the "story purists" will be using MA missions for any purpose at all, and then all the writers who came to the forums complaining that no one was playing their arcs because they were running farms (hey, wake up, your arc is probably not that good anyways) will come to the forums complaining no one is playing their arcs because the rewards are crap. These changes are simply yet another example of how trying to curb farming ends up hurting the farmers less than everyone else.

Yes.

The "Touch my Awesome button" ads did not particularly make Architect look enticing. They did not concentrate on the possiblities or the coolness. Instead, they made the doofus Captain Dynamic look like a self-centered twit who only wanted to fight easy enemies and get all the rewards up front. He repeatedly asked his mission developers to do just that, and they rolled their eyes at the idea.

This was the ONLY offical video content on the subject before Architect was released. The message was strange -- not "come do this," but pretty much a straightforward "people using this feature to minimize threat and pile up cheap rewards are selfish and greedy fools we hold in contempt."

Before MA was released it was clear that the Devs took a dim view of it being exploited. So much so that it was the main thing they talked about in their ad campaign.

In different games the devs accept player mods that increase performance ingame.
ie twister for warhammer online. I was under the impression that this game didnt allow that kinda stuff here.

Just checkin to see if there was a cheat i didnt know about.
