Showoff Healers and Busiest Server
1) Healing Aura from Empathy or Radiant Aura from Radiation Emission. Both are defender primaries and controller secondaries.
Don't do that.
2) Maybe no one invites you because you are the kind of person who wants to spam healing auras in populated places.

1/ Empathy, radiation, thermal, all have the same numbers on their AoE heal.
One thing you might want to know is if you do that, you'll be considered a bad player by many good players (not saying it's true or not).
2/ I believe Freedom is the busiest one, with Virtue a close second. I've seen sharp population drops compared to only 2 months ago on these servers at european hours, though (no clue if that's the same on other servers or at US hours).

If no one is inviting you to a team, maybe you should start your own team and invite others.
The top servers are Freedom, Virtue, and Infinity/Justice, which swap between 3 and 4. When you log in, the first server is the last server you played on and then the list goes from most populated to least. (I think that's the current state of things - they reversed it at one point and I think switched it back again within the last year.)

1. You know when you're hanging out in AE feeling like dog doo since no one will invite you to team and there's this dude floating over everyone having sweeping waves of healing everyone +263 points, and about every few seconds too...what is that?

Spamming a heal aura is that annoying. I'd avoid inviting anyone doing it to any team I was on.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Those don't have the same potential for graphical lag that the healing spam does, not to mention that those aren't close to as loud (did they ever fix it where the healing sound would play for every person that got healed, causing it to very quickly get obscenely loud?)

And I do get invited to teams, I just don't want to spam up the broadcast. I get better results, meaning a more quality team, by just setting my indicator to looking and making sure I have a good line in it.
I've had good luck recruiting, but I have a reluctance to lead a team into the sterile farming world of the AE. I'd rather do some of the real missions. Well, besides sewer, which I hate. I remember heading out to the Hollows for weeks when I played coh around three years ago.
I'm only recently back.
To the person who tagged this "Bind Noobs!" That really hurts my feelings. And, I don't see what this has to do with /binds. ???

I can't stand the horrific crushing sound of (1) inside the main building in Atlas Park, and (2) Earth control's holding AoE. And I'm not even using the best headphones, but the bass is deafening.
This is how your original post translated to me:

I have difficulty, as a blaster or scrapper, with getting a cohesive team together that knows what they're doing. Too many tanks thinking they're scrappers. Too many defenders thinking they're scrappers. Too many blasters thinking they're scrappers.

Realize that a team can do just fine in this game without everyone conforming necessarily to the role you think they should have. A Tanker that is attacking is still holding aggro, and should be doing just fine at it, as long as they are paying attention.
I've never seen a Defender try to be a Scrapper, but a blaster, yes (we know them as Offenders), and they can do just fine at that. Blasters who scrap (Blappers) also can do just fine if they know what they're doing. In short, let other players play as they want. As long as the team isn't wiping, it shouldn't bother you.

Join a global channel or a decent super group and you'll get the best teaming opportunities in the game. Of course, if you're a decent player you'll generally still not have any trouble even on a poor PuG (it really doesn't take much to make a successful, even if not the best, team in this game ).
Also, the LFT flags are a horrible way to find a team, I'd say far worse than broadcast (okay, using local in the Chantry is worse... but that's cheating ).

Perhaps you should check out this thread:
How to Silence Specific Game Sounds
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=113746
I have turned off most auras and toggle sounds, most of Sonic blast, the Portal corps ambient "railroad" noises, the waterfall roar, the sewer water splash, the Huge-model jump effect, boombox music, and various other irritants. There are still lots of effects in the game, but the most annoying ones are gone.

I do let them play as they want, and I watch them die.
The problem is...we're a team. So we do get slaughtered because of it. Or two of us escape aggro and wait for the others to get back from the hospital.

"If I were to try to defend my team, what is the powerful heal that I see being spammed all over the place. [then a joke that I wanted to do it. my bad for adding that since you dont' know me]. Liberty is sometimes sparsely populated as I can tell by doing a /whoall and finding only a few of whatever we need on a team. Could going to a more populated server be better?"
If you're wanting to increase your team's survivability, heals are a poor way to go about it. Heals are a purely reactive means to keep your team alive, while basically everything else in the game is proactive. If you're wanting to be a 'healz0r', then roll an empathy 'fender (bonus points for elec secondary to match all the others ). I'm, personally, a huge fan of Thermal, due to the shields and other nice buffs, the amazing debuffs, and lastly, the heals (I just enjoy using them, even though I don't need them at all often )

Then I misrepresented myself. I meant:
"If I were to try to defend my team, what is the powerful heal that I see being spammed all over the place. [then a joke that I wanted to do it. my bad for adding that since you dont' know me]. |
OH!
I think all the previous respondents thought you were serious. I know I did. Okay, if you just want a strong healing character you have a few choices. The classic one is Empathy. A newer alternative villainside is Pain. Rad has a PBAoE heal but only the one and it's not as strong as what Emp and Pain offer. It has LOTS of other great tricks though, being able to debuff enemies to hell. Dark also has a very strong heal although it can miss. Kinetics too has a strong heal but it fires off of whatever critter you target it on. It too can miss, and if the critter dies while it's going off, you'll see the visual f/x but no heal will happen.
I encourage you to look at all the powers in whatever set you are considering because at higher levels "pure healers" aren't as desirable as sets that have a strong mix of buff/debuff and (optionally!) healing. EDIT: for example, I was on a Task Force over the weekend with an Ice/Cold corruptor. Even though /Cold has no heals at all, he made a HUGE difference in our survivability and debuffed the crap out of the Heroes we fought.
Freedom: Blazing Larb, Fiery Fulcrum, Sardan Reborn, Arctic-Frenzy, Wasabi Sam, Mr Smashtastic.

P.S. Many players play with their main heal set to auto and forget to turn it off in populated areas. I agree that this is rude, but it's not always intentional. I've done it myself. I tend to cut others some slack at first and just ask them to shut it off. If you are talking about the random buffers that hit you with a single target buff or heal then that's obviously not unintentional.
Yeah, sorry for the snarky reply. I thought you were serious about wanting to spam the AE room with your aura heal.
Let me agree with what has been said here already:
1) Although at low levels (and to people coming from other games) heals may seem the most attractive damage mitigator, by later levels they are the least effective.
2) Every "healer" has better things to do than heal, even Empathy defenders, who have some awesome buffs and blasts. There's nothing more boring than a "Pure Healer" defender on a team that doesn't need heals
3) Auto-fire heal auras are the worst of the worst. Not only are they inefficient and annoying, but they rarely go off when or where they would be useful, and when they are needed they are usually unavailable.

I'm not exactly sure how it works either but this can't possibly be true because I play primarily on Freedom and Virtue. Yes, the last server I played comes up as first on the list, but the other one (Freedom or Virtue) is always dead last. If your theory were correct it would be second. Does anyone know how this is decided?

Highest load is last. It has flip-flopped multiple times in the history of the game, so people often forget which way it's listing currently.

Empathy for controllers/defenders? I read up at the Paragon wiki and wasn't finding a good fit for it.
Yes, I want to be a showoff healer.
2. Since I do spend some time hanging out in AE feeling like dog doo since no one will invite me to team, I was wondering if it was because Liberty has a light load. Am I thinking right?
What's the busy one? Wasn't Champion the first made? I think there were three originally.
