Barf

Was the barf emote removed? That would have been my favourite emote for sure. I'm guessing there must have been a good reason why it was removed. Is there any chance it might be put back in future?

"/e Barf" never really made it in the game at all. It appeared in some patch notes but minds were evidently changed before it hit live. This was a long time ago, too.

Barfing hasn't ever been removed from the game completely, though. Mr. Barfy and friends still show up next to the barf puddles in Pocket D every once in a while and there's always that one debuff.

Edit: Unless you're talking about some AE option.

or the glorious bugged dwarf form emotes >_>

Aww, that's a shame. I saw some screenshots of people using it, so it must have been possible in one of the betas - shame it didn't make it into the game. In my opinion the best emotes are the ones that you can involve other people in, and nothing says interaction better than vomiting all over someone's toon.

Well, in I16 you can take Fire Breath, use the dark fire theme and tint it dark green and brown. It makes for pretty convincing vomit.

@Demobot

Also on Steam

If we could tint patron powers, Chum Spray (Oh, I'm sorry, it's called Bile Spray now) is even better than Fire Breath for vomit (different particle effects).

Unless it's been taken out, you can still give every placed enemy in an Architect mission the Barf emote. >_>

Back when i14 was on Test, I made a quickie mission that had all placed Freakshow bosses doing the jumping dance emote, and the rest of the Freak spawns doing the barf emote ("Dude, put down your arms, man!"). <_<;;

I think the real reason it's not a player emote is simply cause we'll use it. A lot. And if you're standing close to a barfer, with the sound turned up... well... it's kinda nasty and liquidy to listen to. -_-;;

You mean they thought they'd better not add it because it might be too much fun? :P

Its not really any different to the barf attacks that the vaz zombies use. But now that I know I can use it in AE, I might make a mission full of barfing opponents.

One of the Poison power set powers has a nice vomiting variation for it's animation.

This. The sound effect used (at least with the barfers in Pocket D, which I think was actually removed) can actually cause quite a bit of queasiness for me. It's that nasty.

You know i remember the first time i saw poison trap in action . . . . . [think it was poison trap they used anyway], was in sirens call and a team of masterminds planted a whole ton of them. Things got messy for us VERY quickly!

Though i didnt stop laughing for a good hour! Made me fall in love with the traps powerset

They had to remove the barf emote when they released the game in Europe because laws in Germany don't allow barfing in videogames.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Not even for humor?

Pansies.

Wait, that must have something to do with the barfing cyber-vampires the Nazi's fielded during the war.

I hate that sound too. Every villain I play stops whatever they're doing while crossing Mercy to kill any of the Infected who barfs within earshot.

"OK buddy, I may be a villain and would just as soon beat up nuns as look at 'em, but that was just tacky. You asked for it..."
