Rad/Pain dom Corrupter

So here is my problem. Most toons I have I can IO out fairly well. This is the only AT+Powerset that is an enigma to me, damage is meh and survivability is pretty bad with the way I currently have it other than having heal up alot. Can a few players that zone PVP with their Pain dom corr, throw me some builds. Not just powers to pick up but sets and bonuses to go for, or just point me in the right direction.
Only looking for zone PVP builds.

Dominators dont get a pain primary or secondary. Maybe reword your question with the correct AT?

Sorry if I missed and misunderstood. It's Saturdy and way past beerthirty.

im not experienced as much as i'd like with mine, but from the ones ive fought i'd say just proc out neutrino bolt and put alot of range into cosmic burst. pain has some decent survivability built in so just go for more HP and it practically builds itself.

No, but it's not that big a deal considering that when you're in combat you're going to be suppressed most of the time anyways. The only time capped runspeed really matters is when you absolutely need to get away from a situation, but there's always phase or the GvE Jump Jet for something like that.

If it's the KB you're harping on I could easily throw an extra KB in World of Pain and it would be just as high as yours. All the other bonus stats are higher.

Mine's got more regen, 230 more HP, 12 more end, higher tohit, and almost twice as much KB protection, so unless you have a magical -KB Io that gives you 16 points of protection, you won't get your build "just as high as mine." 24 points is kind of a joke - why bother slotting for that much if it's not even enough to stop Lift/Levitate? Add into that the fact that you took Irradiate (LOL), don't have Aim (even more LOL), slotted Soul Storm for hold (apparently that extra 2 seconds of hold duration makes a lot more difference than the extra 150-ish points of damage you'd get if you slotted it like the attack it is in PvP?), and Soothe and Painbringer are so woefully underslotted I'm at a loss as to why you would have even bothered to take them in the first place.

i dont have mids anymore but from that breakdown i can tell mac's will be alot harder to kill from the +hp alone.

if i could change anything from what he posted though i would take a slot out of super jump and put in the 5th performance shifter into stamina for the extra damage, and maybe put int a steadfast into WoP. but i didnt check in mids so i dunno if its because of any caps or something that he didnt.

on the +rech%: at those values and having hasten you start getting DR'ed anyway, i seldom build for more than 40% anymore.

I'm curious why you guys all go with soul, aren't you at the DR res cap with free res+WoP?

Is it for powerboost? We did a bit of testing last night for pb+mezzing and it was only making a ~7 second stun last ~9 seconds, so it is getting DR'd pretty heavily (pb+slotted dom stun should be 12 sec).

I'm just wondering if mace mastery wouldn't work about as well as you can easily get up to 20% lol DR'd defense while still hitting the DR res limit and then you'd have perception too.

But maybe I'm looking at it more from an offensive rad/pain and you guys are building heavily for support?

Anyway, this is what I threw together. If the res shield and pb are actually really important then it can be flipped in easily.

I also don't know how well anguish cry actually works (haven't been pvp'ing much), but for an offensive rad/pain I'd imagine it is worth taking.

I went mace on my Corr and it worked well, Focused acc was a must for perception since I went phase as my 4th pool power...and the web immoblize is wicked in zones.

Is it for powerboost? We did a bit of testing last night for pb+mezzing and it was only making a ~7 second stun last ~9 seconds, so it is getting DR'd pretty heavily (pb+slotted dom stun should be 12 sec).
Free base resists + slotted WoP will get you to something around 55-57% resistance, which still leaves 20% to cover from other means. Mace would be a good choice for a /Pain but I think the reason many choose to go the Power Boost route is because in the zone environment, PB'd Share Pain is one of the only effective heals once heal decay's really started to kick in.

So you guys play with DR off then if you are talking about capping at 75%.

I though the usual set up was
Travel Suppression: off
Heal Decay: off
DR: on

Oh yeah, I wasn't taking DR into consideration. Base resists + slotted epic shield will get you to about 40% after DR kicks in (plus or minus a few percent based on AT). Given how DR works I'd expect base resists + WoP to be somewhere in the lower 30s after DR.

Well only one way to find out. I tested with unslotted arc fog (15% res), that should be close enough to WoP, which 2 slotted gives 16%.
Free res = 28.6%
WoP = 35.x%
WoP+epic shield = 42.16%
DR res "cap" = ~48 (half tray of oranges ontop of everything already running).

47.5 isn't enough to take a well slotted forcebolt - you'd need somewhere around 56.


Set bonuses are important, but more important is functionality - You need to enhance your heals and buffs for range, and your travels should be well slotted so you can better evade/get to a team member who is being attacked.

Try to get around or above 1500 HP, at least mag 35 KB res, and make sure you have enough recharge to heal effectively through spikes.
