No, not really. Energy Blast is very generic. Swinging is not.

I disagree... Swinging is something many, many characters use in comics, just as energy blasts are something many, many characters use.

i want a big-wheel as a travel power. i had a chips big-wheel when i was a kid back in the late '70s and i loved it. you could ride it one of two ways. the traditional way, sitting down -which as everyone knows is totally lame and only for squares- or like a three wheel scooter. one foot on the seat and one used for propulsion. you could do sick-as-hell power slides and spin-outs. but occasionally catch a rock or crack in the sidewalk and face-plant. either way i think it would totally rule and blow CO right back to the stoneage.

The validity of your statment does not increase in direct proportion with the frequency and volume at which you speak it.

I'd hazard a guess that the number of characters in the pages of comic books that use a swingline as a means of transportation is equal to or greater than the number of characters that use teleportation.

Gymnastics - You have honed your body to the peak of perfection allowing you to race across the rooftops with amazing speed and agility. Almost no obstacle exists that you cannot overcome or bypass with relative ease.

Spin Kick - You put the momentum of your entire body behind this ferocious kick. The sheer power of this attack is such that it will bring even the strongest man to his knees.
32 smashing damage, KD, melee range

Swinging - When the rooftops run out there is only one thing to do, take to the air! With a grapnel and a stout cable you fly without wings and the canyons of concrete and glass are now your playground.
similar to Super Jump in speed and operation

Equilibrium - You have attained perfect balance allowing you to keep your feet no matter what is thrown your way.

Skyhooks.

i like the idea of a swinging/zipline travel power. i don't have many characters that would use it, but if it is practical to add it to the game i would be all for it.

Dr. Todt's theme.

No air control in Gymnastics? Interesting. It does make it different from Combat Jumping, though a bit less useful IMO.

If CO can do it, CoX can do it, New travel Powers Please

Also, don't discount the Tunneling travel power. This is a very nice "sneaky" power, as you can tunnel underneath enemies without their knowledge, then burst out of the ground and get an alpha on them. It's really cool.

Please try my arcs:

Arc# 63910 "Why Do Bad Girls Like Bad Boys?" (length=Long, levels 40+)
Arc# 401500 "How to Be a Successful Professional Criminal" (length=Very Long, levels 1-10)

I seem to remember Marvel throwing a stink about nearly everything that CoX was doing powerwise and costumewise. I don't know for certain if development of a swinging travel power was haulted through Marvel and legal bullying or just through time/difficulty... but later on the devs entered into a development contract for a super hero MMO called Marvel Universe Online.... this was killed shortly before the schism in Cryptic. NCsoft and Paragon emerge with CoX and Cryptic takes their now bruised Marvel engine and designs Champ... low and behold there is a Swinging travel power. Anyhoo... the point is, I don't think they will add Swinging anytime soon if ever... however any other travel power might emerge. Here's to hoping.

LOL

Add that alongside swinging to the list of travel powers that won't be added to CoX.

A swing line could come from the netherworld or be some form of unexplainable magic like when Zatanna puts her hand into her hat which then becomes a big hand from the ceiling and picks a man out of the audience. A portal with a hanging rope is available to you every so often. You could have a whip that lashes out grabs a bird or at night a bat from around the ankles.. It would be copycat to do swinging it really unless in an expansion a zone full of vines or something was available to everyone as it fits with the zone.

But I think that Tunneling is the one that fits.Tunneling would be the easy one to do first. There are a lot of earth controllers or dominators and stone tanks or brutes that would so much cooler with it, they could move faster underground. As you can be so far down so as to not tear up the road it could be a stealth power that nothing can detect. You don't have to tear up the road where ever you go, just at the bit where you come out.

I don't care too much about them powers tbh and it would be better if CoX did something different or new. I've always wanted motorbikes myself, to ride up buildings and across buildings would be a bonus. A customizable Jet or a Chopper would be cool too, stuff like that.

Very nice.

Also, to solve the issue with "swinging from what?" we could do something a bit like Ratchet and Clank did. R&C has a gadget that can attach to pre-placed nodes in the game world via a swingline, and then swing to another. Instead of going through the game and adding these points, one could simply have the swingline described as a device that launches cables with anti-gravity nodes... these anchor into space when in use, and disengage once power to them is cut... that way, you can swing absolutely anywhere, and the only issue is RPing it to be Tech/Nat/Mut/Sci/Mag.
