When typing something into broadcast, like lvl 36 troller looking for a team or lvl 42 scrapper looking for ae farm, how do you repeat that without having to type it over again ??? Is it somekind of macro or keybind thing ??? Let me know.

Hit enter to get into chat then hit the up arrow key to bring up the last thing you typed.
Hope that helped.

Hit enter to open the chat box, then press up. This will go back to the last line you typed. It stores something around 10 lines, so you can keep going up, if you want to repeat something you said 5 lines ago, or something.

Remember not to spam. Spamming is bad. Mmmmkay? Also you can use Ctrl+C to copy marked text and then Ctrl+V to paste it back in. Handy if you are busy in several channels.

I want to emphasize "do not spam". If enough people have had enough of seeing a message constantly splashed in broadcast and click ignore spammer you may get a ban until it is sorted out.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

To make a broadcast macro

/macro MacroName "b <message>"

Please note the buttons on your power this creates only shows about four letters, max, for the name field.

And do not use "/b <message>" as that will not work.

Thanks for the reply all. This information was not gathered for spamming purposes but just to make my life a little easier when looking for teams. Thanks again.

When we say spamming we don't really mean spamming "Buy inf for $$ on www.stupidsite.com" or some such. What we mean is you shouldn't use this bind/macro or /broadcast to fill the air with your message.

Move around in the world, if you are level 15 for example: go to Steel Canyon, then Skyway City and then down to Faultline tolook for teams.

Also try the search function or just type /search (/sea works too) and put together your own team.

Something that is mindboggeling for me is when you see the foloowing in the broadcast:

Broadcast: Lvl 25 troller lft!
Broadcast: lvl 26 tank lft.
Broadcast: 24 scrapper want missions!

You see what I mean?

You can also highlight text in the chat window with your mouse, then copy and paste (ctrl+c and ctrl+v). This is particularly useful for situations where an NPC says something amusing and you want to tell your friends - you can copy the entire line, including the NPC name, and then paste it to another channel.

I set up a bind for every character:

/bind L "broadcast Level $level $archetype LFT"

You can replace the letter L with any key you want. The $level and $archetype are variables and will say the level and AT of whatever character you're currently playing.

I've played around a bit with Ctrl+C-ing portions of Contacts' mission text and Pasting them into team chat so people can share the back-story stuff.

IMHO I've found it to be more trouble than it's worth - nobody seems to care that much!

I use Crtl+C and +V when I'm trying to build a quick PuG.

"Hello. Would you like to join us on a few level 15+ missions in Faultline?"

Copy then send to players LFT in /search.

I have a note pad on my desk so I scribble down a short note on who I have sent it to. After each mission I go look for more if needed. Saves plenty of time and my fingertips.

And given that this game is built around many zones and most players spend time in instances, Broadcast really is the most inefficient way to find teams.

You'll have much better luck by, say, using the Search function to find players around your level who are on teams (greyed out names) and asking them if they have room.

But if you do that, please, please, please for the love of pete please don't just send a tell saying "Invite me". Say something like "Sorry to bug you, but I'm a $level $archetype and I was wondering if you had room?"

Yeah, you're far more likely to get on a team if you state your archetype and level. Anything beyond that is usually unnecessary.

And expect to be told "No" most of the time. The person might be on a task force, an Ouroboros Flashback, or the team may be full already.

Or they may just be cranky.

Also, check and see if your server has dedicated "teaming" channels. It's a lot more effective to post a "team wanted" message in that kind of channel because anyone else on that channel can see it regardless of which zone they are in, even if they are in a mission instance. Whereas, posting a message in Broadcast is only visible to those people who are in the zone you are in - and then, only if they are not in a mission instance.
