Time Bomb

Does anyone ever use Time Bomb? I have an AR/Dev blaster and with I16 I plan to make a Traps/AR Defender but I cannot see any reason to take this power on either of them. Theoretically I suppose you could sneak into the middle of a spawn while cloaked and use it but that seems to be of marginal utility solo and useless on a good team.

So, does anyone have a good reason to take time bomb?

I don't think I've seen anybody use it. Ever.

I took it once, and respec'ed right out of it. Nice boom, but it takes way to long to activate. Very little use on a good team, as by the time it blows, the enemy is already dead.

Its a ghostable nuke. I loved it on my ele/dev.

Ok want to see a massive BOOM with a screen full of orange numbers?

Using any ghost like power, walk up, Drop Time bomb, count to about 6, drop a trip mine, and que your nuke. Anything less than EB's are chunky salsa.

The other option is: become your very own rolling nuke. Use TB on one spawn, use your T9 primary on the next, TB on the next, etc.

Also there just isnt anything quite as cool as dripping a time bomb on invasion weekends/october.

Reason I currently don't have it: Im a team player that is working on healing badge (cause my ele/dev toon is my main badger).

P.S. MA has made TM and TB less useful since everyone in it is generally more impatient, and doesnt want to give you time to setup awesome pyrotechnics. And no I'm not bashing MA, just giving one other reason my main build doesn't have TB. My alt build is a total solo build, so i got as many "nukes" as i can fit.

I took it once upon a time on my sonic/traps corruptor. I regretted it almost immediately, and respecced shortly thereafter. I found its utility to be ..... wanting.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.

1387 badges, and counting

I do almost the same thing with my Blaster's Solo build, except that since my Primary is AR I can't drop both bombs and then nuke, so I just drop TB, then pull back for a timed FA.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?

A: You crash into another one.

I use it when I solo with my AR/devices blaster, but as others have said, its not so useful on teams (except in the middle of a Rikti invasion).

The best use I ever found for it was when I was in Perez park working on the Kil Skulz badge for my blaster. I would just walk into the middle of a large spawn of Skulls (I was too high level to aggro them), drop a time bomb, walk away, and watch the whole group get blown up. I'm ashamed to admit it was stupidly fun and I got the badge long before I got bored of doing it.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! That's hilarious, RR -- I may make a toon just to grab TB and play around with doing that!

AR/Dev
I use it as an opener when I take on the mission boss, but since I've only recently got it I'm still trying getting the timing down pat though (TB+snipe).

I'll have to try out that TB+TM combo... when If I have enough power choices left to get TM that is

the timing on my Dark/Traps is something like "Time bomb, trip mine, poison gas thingy, snipe, trip mine, boom" but it hardly ever works out in practice. I am also rusty on it.

I find my Dark/Traps to be low-damage but oddly satisfying to solo.

In any practical situation I wouldn't actually spend eight interruptible seconds setting it up unless, like, someone was summoning their undead hordes or something.

Time Bomb is one of the reasons my Fire/Devices blaster was able to solo to 50 on Unyielding. You'll almost never break it out on teams, but it's great solo.

Ok, pretty much the responses I was expecting, it's somewhat useful solo but useless on a team.

I can even deal with the ticker, it's the power activation time that's murder. Why not make it like a tar patch and have it explode on taking damage instead?
