I'm so glad you like it, ShadowWings!

Wesker is sooo awesome (and hot).

Err, sorry for the double post...

I won't be doing freebies for a little while because I have to concentrate on my commissions. I've realized how many I've gotten in so little time, so those need to receive most of my attention right now. I'll probably post the commissions here when finished, especially the CoX ones. So, just hold on a wee bit!

good luck with the no doubt monster Que!

Whoever made Cashoo's que so darn long deserves to be flogged! Death is too good for them! They should be... errr... wait a minute....

Nevermind.

But since I am at least part of the reason Cashoo's free artz will be disppearing for at least a little while then I suppose I owe some free artz to the board... Luckily one of the commission spots I reserved from Cashoo was for that exact purpose! Once I think up some suitably stupid contest to run the winner will indeed receive free Cashoo Artz. Just be patient while I try to get my woefully underused brain dusted off to try to think up a good contest...

double posts happen

and dont worry Cash. everyone knows commissions always go first unless its a personal thing with u ( i.e. personal gift etc)
and if you get back to freebies then so be it, if not as long as you got the work there and enjoying what your doing i think everything will be ok.
you have a wonderful talent and should continue with it

Haha, thanks guys, I'm glad you understand.

Sheesh Caemgen, ordering all those pictures like that. Crackin' the whip aren't you? Good luck with the contest btw.

Oh, and I know this is a little OT...but I just found out about the Hero Con? Is it really in San Jose? My heart just skipped a beat a little.... I live in San Jose! This feels too good to be true! I'm like, so excited right now. ksjdhglgjhfd
Is anyone else here going?

Hey, my whip cracking has nothing to do with art... Well, unless maybe Battlewraith was sketching it

But seriously, no pressure from me. Take your time. While I am eager I also have a measure of patience... I certainly wouldn't begrude you a few minutes off here or there to sleep, do a freebie, or enjoy a good whip cracking

As for the contest, if you haven't spotted it yet it's here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=192352 - You are of course welcome to participate. I suppose if you won your own commission you could either just pocket the cash or re-gift it or something

Official Thread about HeroCon09

It is indeed in San Jose.

I wanted to go this year since I couldnt make it last year (I'm from Sacramento so it was only a hop, skip and a jump away), but I've found myself 3000miles farther away than I was last year, so no such luck.

I live in San Jose myself, actually. The backup on the 87/280 interchange is a ******* nightmare around rush hour.

I won't be going to HeroCon though. I went to the first one when it was at Dave&Busters at the Great Mall and it was fun. But now that it costs 80 dollars, there's no way I can afford it. I mean, FanimeCon costs around 50-60 and that's 3-4 days long. I can't imagine how HeroCon could possibly serve up enough interesting things to make it worth the money, especially when it's only 2 days.

I love this game, but unless they're going to try and compete with ComicCon or SuperCon for generic superhero comic stuffs, I can't see them having the content to make it worth the price.

Haha, yeah, that's where I found it (I rarely go outside of the Screenshots and Fan Creations forum, I should do that more often...). I was just...shocked and a bit in disbelief when I saw that it takes place where I live!
Aw, that's sad to hear.

Hooray for San Jose!
I assume it was cheaper the first time? I also questioned the price...
You have a very good point. Although I find it a bit much, it's very worth it for me and my RL CoX friends, since it'll be the last time we'll be able to nerd out together in person for a while, as I am moving in December.
It's too bad that you won't be going, though!

When I went to the first one, it was completely free. I dunno why the price point is so high, but I assume it's because it's so small that their costs need to be spread over fewer people.

I can see it being a good place to nerd out, as I tend to do the same thing with my friends. Cons are less about what the total content is and more about how much fun you can have while there. But since my SG is already local and I see them for BBQs or LAN parties, I don't need to use HeroCon as an excuse. But if you have the cash for it, then more power to you. I hope you have a good time!

I would love to go to Hero con. But San jose is a long way away from here. and the 60 dollar entry fee would no doubt grow by about 500% just to get there and back. So no hero con for me...

I am going! A bunch of the west coast Cape Radio crew who I haven't met are going along with some other friends on that side of the continent so I cashed in my flight credits to go and meet them and such If all goes well, there will be shirts and I'll be easily findable, if you go I'll definitely look out to say hi

It's because of the fees the hotel is charging them to hold the con there. Hotels aren't cheap to negotiate with, and then there's the banquet dinner and cost of making goodies to consider.

I've been to a lot of other cons here, as well as cons in the very same place that were cheaper. To me, it's just not a good price point whatsoever. I'd go to a meet and greet like the old one where it was just a meeting for free, but the pricepoint is prohibitive for people with tight budgets.

Also, do you have ANY idea how expensive it is to live here in San Jose? BAH! They should be *giving* us money.

It's likely the banquet, as catering can cost ridiculous amounts of money. I'd rather they not feed us and have the costs be lower. I can handle eating a cheeseburger if it means 20 bucks off the price of admission. ;_;

Oh, so true. u_u That's the exact reason why my family is moving to Colorado, haha. But gotta admit, San Jose is quite nice...

Oh, awesome! I definitely would love to meet you.
I'll be going dressed up as a Vahzilok surgeon (er, a short, cute, female version ). Are you cosplaying?

Finally, some content! Commission for The Masked Shrike. Tried to tie in a little patriotism by adding the American flag in the background.

And speed-paint-sketch thing of Dr. Vahzilok (again ).

Masked Shrike is good (okay, great), but hot damned I love the look of Dr. Vahzilok

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

It's a good thing there really aren't short, cute V-surgeons... Too many of us would be lining up to let them "experiment" on us...

Great arts as always... Loving the cuteness of the Shrike and the way Dr. V is appropriately disturbing

I can't much help be simultaneously enthralled, and disturbed by Dr V.

Beautiful as always.

(Minor Nitpick..... the Flag in Masked Shrike's piece (as great a piece as it is) is upside-down. The field of blue should always be at the top lefthand side whenever the flag is displayed.)

Really? I never knew there was a "rule"...

Pyro • That's cool

Beautiful work on the Masked Shrike! She really lends herself to being a great subject -- brought forth by a great artiste!

Dr. V is ... well ... I guess he'd be the Anti-Shrike (but also wonderfully rendered)!
