lol

Along those lines, how about:

"Awww, thanks. I have an appointment to finish the transgender procedure next week. It'll probably be a month for full recovery, maybe we could hook up then?"

As my bro says, "AWESOMENESS!!" and "PURE WINNNN!!!"

OMG, I just realized that "i like pie" is a tag for this thread. Makes me wonder if that person actually read the thread, cuz it's not at all appropriate given the subject (think about it)...

After actually reading what I last posted, I think I'll leave the banter to someone else.

In other words: omg, i cant believe i typed that!! *scrubs fingers to get the filth out*

I don't mean to double post but here is my contribution from that other thread.

You could buy the science booster and then the next time they do that you could change into a monstrous guy in orange prison coveralls and say, "You MY little puppy now B**ch! Daddy gonna make you squeal like a pig!"

Though I understand it's a joke thread I'm still a wee taken back with all the petition comments all because someone called the other by sexy.

I certainly don't flip out or roll out the semi veiled insults because someone calls me hun and it happens more often I'd care to remember.

If it's really that troubling iRL to be called sexy in a game I would suggest :

A) - Don't make a sexy character.

B) - Make a male character (unless you're going to RP that character and the gender matters).

C) - Ask the person not to do so. Communication? Iz good.

D) - Too awkward to ask the person not to do so, or the person insists? Left-click, ignore, keep on playing.

I'm probably interjecting a sour note in a (I think) joke thread, but the reaction to a simple 'hi sexy' is disproportionate. A 'Hi sexy wanna cyber?' yes, all of those, though personally I don't argue with troublesome (read stupid) people, I just choose the D option.

OK, who took Steelclaw's Gold-Plated Title? Cough it up... come on give it back, no questions asked. Maybe we should form a search party and go looking for it?
Steelclaw lost his/her title when the forums migrated, as did everyone else with a special title (like Guide Contributor, PERC Representative,etc.). All of titles were reset to their default (which, for players, is based off of number of posts).

You are taking some of the jokes too seriously. Although I personally, think they don;t go far enough. If we were to look at it from a Darwinian point of view, someone who sends a "hi sexy" tell to someone else in a game simply because they are on a female toon should probably not be allowed to breed for the good of the species.

Last weekend I was on my Col. Liberty toon (I have both male and female toons), a female who is completely covered in a Justice outfit, with a stars and stripes motiff, with the default sliders for Athletic build, and someone sends me a tell saying "mmmmm....Hi Sexy"

Now, maybe the guy had a flag fetish, I don't know. I'd have found it less creepy had he said it in local rather than sent a tell. At least in local I'd have taken it as RPing his character. Sending it in a tell my reaction is instead to feel sorry for the guy, but not sorry enough to demand mandatory sterilization for him.

"hi sexy" + "worship" emote + comments to other teammates when I don't reply = me feeling really creeped out

Sometimes, random people do this to me. I have no idea why. I don't see my characters as having revealing outfits, but they're not all in baggy clothes, either. I suppose I'm a little too sensitive to this, and sending a scathing reply after one comment would be too antisocial of me. I'll just wait until they 1) demand a response, 2) increase the lewdness of their comments, 3) hit the "worship" emote, 4) comment to teammates, or 5) put the "hi sexy" comment with anything else, such as " lets cyber".

The problem now, of course, is that I feel like making a bikini babe just so that I can use some of the hilarious responses that people came up with. They're just too good to pass up.

*After much debating, I've decided NOT to make a bikini babe character. Oh well. At least now I'm not scared to play anymore.*

You should always remember that you're in control of the situation - you can totally burst his ego bubble - not just with private tells, but publicly in team chat - or even local and broadcast. You mustn't let a guy make you feel uncomfortable - if he's behaving like a Neanderthal, call him out on it, and let him and the rest of the team know what you think about his behavior.
If a guy gets pushy, then you're entitled to start pushing back.

Also keep in mind you can always turn the tables on them... you can try your own versions of "hey sexy" in response...

For example:

* Wow... lookit that BEEFCAKE... wooo-hooo... thank goodness I value muscles over brains, huh?

* Oh my goodness... honey just looking at you has taken my breath away... or maybe it was from smelling you... hard to tell

* Just hearing your sexy voice is more exciting than a level ding... a Level TWO level ding.. but hey.. beggars can't be choosers...

* Thanks... I tried to make my in game character look as much like my real self as possible.. I'm sure you did the same thing with your main character... this one must be an alt, right?

* This one is okay... but my REALLY sexy one is on (any other server)... if you want we could switch over to that one and "team" a little bit.. I'll meet you there... meet me under Atlas.. just keep asking for "INeedaHo" in Local until someone answers...

My mind wanders so often you've probably seen its picture on milk cartons. - Me... the first person version of the third person Steelclaw

I'm sure real live actual transgender people love being used as jokes like this. You're not mocking the person who's trying to do the flirting, you're mocking people who have to put up with a lot of **** from everyone else already.

Y'know, I just KNEW someone was going to say that...
Thing is, I know a few transgenders IRL, and they actually HAVE used something akin to that line when approached by neanderthalls...
Also, note that I didn't mention which way the "trans"formation was going...

Do you think it's appropriate for someone in the game over the age of 18 to go up to your 13 year old sister/niece/daughter and make comments loaded with sexual innuendo?

This is a teen rated game and I can understand why some people find those comments offensive regardless of their age or gender.

A), B) Whatever you make your character look like, it's not your fault if another player comes on to you in a creepy, sexually harassing way. No one should be forced to limit their characters' appearance options because of creepy jerks.

C), D) Since creepyguy has already crossed reasonable boundaries, I think it's kind of funny that you'd suggest only politely asking him to stop or simply not talking to him at all...

If they use it and they're transgender, that's their business and choice. I don't think it's reasonable for you to tokenize them like this in this discussion ("I have transgender friends and they think it's okay!"), because we only have your word for what they might think. I also presume you and the OP probably aren't transgender. Your joke simply reinforces the idea that transgender people are undesirable sex partners, or maybe punchlines who drive heterosexual men to anything from disgust to murder upon discovery.

I'm not sure what relevance your comment about "which way the transformation was going" is supposed to have. I don't think it changes the context of your joke.

And seriously, I realize you're trying to offer helpful advice to Lucretia and that you're probably a decent guy, which is why I'm offering you some advice and trying to treat you like one.

You seem to be a little overly sensitive and just a tinge self-righteous.

I guess my friends just have a better sense of humor on the subject.
And, yes, you only have my word for it, but having been in the theatrical arena for 25+ years, my friends run across several social lines.

Also, I am not a guy. Interesting assumption, there.

People....

Please stop fighting....

There's enough of that going on over AE already.

By the way, I'm on The_Alt_oholic's ignore list! Yay!!!

Seriously, though, the transgender and hermaphrodite coments are inappropriate. I'm sorry I came up with the latter.

I still think the "I haven't shaved for a year" one is funny, though.

"Hi Sexy" was all that was said? Give me a break! If that really makes the orignal poster THAT anxious, she has bigger problems than preceived sexual harassment.

Hey sexy

Wow. am I the only one that heard Johnny Bravo there?

There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"
